- At least the Christian religion accept that supreme father, God, and the material nature is mother. And we are all sons. Not only human beings, every living being, even the dogs. This is philosophy, real philosophy
- At night when we dream of tigers and snakes, they are not actually present, but we are afraid because we are affected by what we envision in our dreams. Everything material is like a dream because it actually has no permanent existence
- At present we are existing in these material bodies, but if we take to the process of KC, our consciousness will be purified. Although American and European, the young students who are voluntarily practicing KC are very pleased to practice it
- At present we are guided by the consciousness of self-interest. but we do not know what our real self-interest is. Actually we do not have self-interest, but sense interest

- At the fag end of life, we are disappointed, we are frustrated. Brdhya kala aula saba sukha pagala. When we cannot again . . . no more we can enjoy with our senses, then we become very much depressed

- At the present moment our mind is so disturbed, we are disturbed in so many ways. Meditation is not possible in this age. Maybe there may be one or two persons who can meditate. The real meditation means to think of Krsna
- At the present moment the human civilization has advanced very much to live comfortably so far our material necessities are concerned, but still we are not happy because we are missing the point
- At the present moment we are in subtraction - God minus myself. I have no sense of God; therefore I am in minus condition. So yoga means God plus I. That is the real meaning of yoga. So long I was God-minus, now God-plus
- At the present moment we are jiva-bhutah. We are thinking that I am this body, but when you come to the platform that I am Brahman, I am part and parcel of Krsna, or God, then my duty changes. That is called bhakti
- At the present moment, nobody asks this question. But this is very intelligent question. We are completely under the laws of nature
- At the present moment, our position is very precarious. We are in the darkness, the ignorance, and so many other things, corollaries to these things

- At the present stage of our existence, it is difficult to be unaffected by the temporary happiness and distress pertaining to the body and mind. Nor is it possible at present to assert that we are unidentified with the body and mind
- At the same time nature is nourishing us by supplying food and other necessities. Both processes (punishing and nourishing) are going on because we are sons of the wealthiest Father of all, and Krsna is kind even though we do not surrender unto Him
- At the time of death, your destiny is not in your hands - it is in the hands of nature. It is not our duty to speculate on what material body we are going to get next
- At this stage of our material existence, we are conditioned by many laws of nature. All conditioned souls are subject to four defects due to the imperfection of their senses. One defect is that the conditioned soul is certain to commit mistakes
- Atma, the spirit soul, is always unchanged (avikalah puman). We are spirit souls, but when carried away by mental activities (manodharma), we suffer from so-called material conditions of life. This generally happens to nondevotees
- Atma-ghatam means killing the soul. How we are killing the soul? We forget that, I am spirit soul
- Atma-prasadanim means if you want to satisfy your mind, if you want to satisfy your self, or even you want to satisfy your body... We are living in three stages: bodily concept of life, mental concept of life and spiritual concept of life
- Atyaharah, eating more than you require. Actually, we should not eat unless we are very hungry. That is good eating
- Avaroha-pantha means a descendence, or deductive process. So our Krsna consciousness movement, we claim that we have got perfect knowledge of everything because we are taking knowledge from the perfect person

- Because Krsna comes before us just like a human being, if we think that "He's also like me," then we are ass. Krsna does not change His dress
- Because Krsna comes down as human being, we, due to our lack of knowledge, poor fund of knowledge, we think Krsna is as good as we are. But actually it is not. Krsna is God. We are ordinary living entities
- Because Mayavadis have understood what is the difference between spirit and matter, it does not mean that knowledge is perfect. They are thinking, "Now we have understood what is spirit and what... Therefore we are liberated"
- Because of their (the demigods') enmity, our (Kamsa's ministers) opinion is that the demigods should not be neglected. Therefore, to uproot them completely, engage us in fighting with them, for we are ready to follow you (Kamsa) - SB 10.4.37
- Because our knowledge is imperfect, still, we take the position of teacher; therefore we are cheater - not teacher, but cheater. So the teacher society nowadays is the cheater society. And this modern world is a society of the cheater and the cheated
- Because our main business is sense gratification. So we cannot enjoy all these senses fully in one kind of body. There is some defect. Just like we are trying to gratify our senses by flying to another planet, moon planet
- Because the red Indians, they had no sufficient intelligence, they could not make America like present time. Lack of intelligence. So we are manufacturing so many things industrially, but the intelligence is also given by Krsna
- Because the same mind and body exist in the same material world of duality when we are awake, the so-called happiness and distress of this world are no better than the false, superficial happiness of dreams
- Because the spirit soul is part and parcel of Krsna, so by nature, he is joyful. He is seeking after joy. Every one of us, we are working so hard to find out some pleasure of life
- Because the Supreme Lord is not subject to illusion, He is unconditioned; because we, as finite living entities, are prone to fall into illusion, we are called conditioned
- Because the water has become black, it does not mean the liquidity is lost. Similarly, because we are now in contact with material designation, our services atti..., service attitude is not lost. That is there. But it is being rendered in a different way
- Because there are different kinds of mentality, not that all our mentality is one and the same. No, no. We are... And the law of nature is so finer that, according to the different kinds of mentality, they have got different kinds of bodies
- Because we are all Krsna's sons - we are suffering - so He wants to see that our sufferings are mitigated immediately. But we are obstinate. We don't accept the supreme father's advice. That is our difficulty
- Because we are always very busy in the discharge of our worldly duties, generally we do not wish to understand any philosophy except our mundane philosophy of the stomach and allied subjects
- Because we are bewildered, we are misdirected, so . . . so guru's word, that should be taken seriously. Ara na koriya . . . "No more, anything." That is . . . Therefore how much difficult it is to find out such guru
- Because we are conditioned, we are suffering from dualities, but for Him (Krsna) everything is perfect
- Because we are conditioned, we are under illusion. Although we are prakrti, we are thinking that we are purusa. But actually we are not purusa. We are also prakrti
- Because we are covered by the fog in so many ways, and it is very difficult to drive away. But you keep yourself in Krsna consciousness, it will be driven away. It will be driven away. There is no doubt about it
- Because we are covered by the material modes of nature, He (Krsna) is very difficult for us to understand unless He reveals Himself to us. Therefore it is better for us to acknowledge that He is everything and offer obeisances unto His lotus feet
- Because we are covered by the skin, therefore we are feeling pains and pleasure. If you become uncovered, free from the skinly covering, then there is no pains and pleasure
- Because we are dependent on the Supreme Personality of Godhead, we should give up the idea that without Krsna we can enjoy freedom in this material world. This idea is the reason we have become entangled
- Because we are developed consciousness, we do not keep in natural life. We accept so many unnatural things. Therefore our knowledge becomes covered by unnatural material nature
- Because we are doubtful, we are presenting Krsna in a different way. And there are so many commentators, so many swamis, they put Krsna in a different way. But Krsna is Krsna. Law of identity. You cannot comment on the Krsna's personality
- Because we are drinking milk from the cows, so we are indebted. But instead of paying our indebtedness, we are killing. You see? These are all reactions. We are creating reactions
- Because we are following austerities, Krsna sends us nice things. So we are not losers. When you become Krsna-ized, then you get more comforts than at the present moment. That's a fact
- Because we are following strictly the principles of Rupa Gosvami, rupanuga, therefore it is somehow or other coming out very successfully. The Krsna consciousness movement should be pushed according to the rupanuga principle
- Because we are ignorant of the superior nature, we have no alternative but to remain in the inferior nature
- Because we are imperfect. Suppose a big professor, just like that Russian Professor Kotovsky, they are trying to understand things by so-called inductive process, or aroha-pantha, going up by one's speculation, by speculative method
- Because we are in ignorance, we do not know anything about the kingdom of God. We know nothing about how to get there or how to become happy. We have forgotten all this
- Because we are in the neophyte stage, we should not imitate the vision of maha-bhagavata. Maha-bhagavata does not see anyone nondevotee. He sees everyone better devotee than himself
- Because we are in this material world, we shall act in such a way that nobody can accuse us. Therefore Rupa Gosvami has said: The dealings should be very honest
- Because we are integral with Him (Krsna), because we are part and parcel of Him, our relationship with Him is eternal. That relationship simply has to be revived, and that revival is this process of Krsna consciousness
- Because we are Krsna's sons or we have got very intimate relationship with Krsna and we have given Him up and we have forgotten Him, therefore we are suffering
- Because we are materially covered, we think service means just like service in this world. This service is maya. Nobody will be satisfied, nobody
- Because we are misled by foolish leaders, we are confused. Otherwise everything's clear
- Because we are now dull brain. Anyone who is not Krsna conscious, he is described as rascal
- Because we are now in a condition which is not natural condition. So we have to put ourself in the natural condition, and the service attitude will go on. This is called Krsna consciousness
- Because we are now in the conditioned state, it is very difficult to completely deny sex life, there is regulative principle. First of all training: no sex life. If you can remain without sex life, brahmacari, it is very good
- Because we are now in the material world, we have got the propensity to enjoy, to exploit the resources of material nature. Krsna has given us the opportunity

- Because we are part and parcel of God, we have all the instincts of God in minute quantity. The sex play and sex life which we see in the material world is but the perverted reflection of the love that is found in the spiritual world
- Because we are part and parcel of Krsna, our original consciousness is that, "I have got intimate relationship with Krsna as His part and parcel." That is Krsna consciousness
- Because we are so fallen in this age, the simple chanting of glorification of the Lord will be equal to performances of all kinds of sacrifices. That is mentioned in the Srimad-Bhagavatam

- Bhagavata-dharma is in the transcendental platform. It is not material. There are two kinds of dharmas: material and spiritual, because we are combination of matter and spirit at the present moment
- Bhakti, or devotional service is not such a thing which can be checked. "Sir, I was feeling very sick, therefore I could not chant." No, that is not bhakti. We are subjected to all these tribulations utterly
- Bhakti-yoga requires little tapasya, not playthings. Tapasya, that, "We are addicted to so many sinful activities. We must give it up." That is tapasya
- Body is not everything. The moving power of the body is the spirit soul. We are repeatedly trying to convince people this simple truth, but they are so dull-headed they cannot understand
- Brahma said, "As a result, we are full of anxiety in this existence; to live within this material world means simply to suffer and to be full of all miseries"
- Brahma said, "Krsna, the cosmic manifestation that we are visualizing at present is all within Your body. Yet I am seeing You outside, and You are also seeing me outside. How can such things happen without being influenced by Your inconceivable energy?"
- Brahma said, "We are all demigods, controlling deities of the various senses of the living entities, and we are proud of enjoying such privileges, but actually there is no comparison between our position and of these fortunate residents of Vrndavana"
- Brahman, every one of us, we are Brahman. There is no doubt about it. But unfortunately, by mistake, by illusion, I am thinking, "I am this body." So spiritual education means first of all one has to understand that aham brahmasmi
- By advancement of knowledge, we have manufactured atom bomb so that killing process can be accelerated. People are dying, and that dying process is accelerated, and we are proud. Advancement of knowledge
- By deluded by the illusory energy of the material existence, we are thinking that "I am the proprietor." Therefore in the scriptures, in Vedic scriptures, sacrifice is recommended
- By falsely claiming that "This land, this land of America, belongs to the Americans; the land of Africa belongs to the Africans." No. Every land belongs to God. We are different sons of God in different dresses
- By glorifying the Lord with exalted verses, one becomes purified. Although we are unable to offer prayers to the Lord in an adequate fashion, our duty is to make the attempt in order to purify ourselves
- By impure consciousness we are transmigrating from . . . now this time, you may be very happy that you have got a very nice body, American body, or you are enjoying life. But do you know what is the next life? That you do not know
- By increasing our enjoyment of material life, we are further complicating our diseased condition
- By nature we are living entities, we must act. It is not possible to stop activities
- By nature we are living entities; we must act. It is not possible to stop activities. So just like it is said, "An idle brain is a devil's workshop," so if we have no good engagement, then you will have to engage yourself in something nonsense

- By our good activities we are elevated to the higher planetary systems or to a higher standard of life (good education, beautiful body, etc.). These are the results of pious activities
- By our iccha, Krsna gives us to fulfill our desires. So as we contact with the different modes of material nature, we are situated either in sattva-guna or rajo-guna or tamo-guna, and our different characteristics are visible
- By our manipulation of materialistic activities, there are some material dust which are accumulated on the mind; therefore we are unable to see things in true perspective
- By our past deeds and by the arrangement of superior authority, we are entangled in a network of fruitive activities and have lost sight of the destination of life; thus we have been wandering within the universe
- By sense enjoyment, nobody can become happy. Because we are in the material existence. And our senses are false senses. Real senses - spiritual senses. So we have to awaken our spiritual consciousness. Then by spiritual senses we can enjoy
- By spiritual realization, disintegration of our material affinity naturally begins, and the more we become spiritually developed, the less we are affected by the happiness or distress that arise out of sense perception in contact with material association
- By the atrocious activities of ugra-karma, how we are killing the opportunity of human civilization
- By the dictation of the senses we are committing sinful activities life after life; therefore we are in different grades of bodily presentation. Don't think that everyone is of the same standard
- By the grace of Krsna we are given a highly developed body and intelligence, but if we do not utilize them, why should He give them to us again
- By the illusory energy of maya, the so-called knowledge, our real knowledge has been taken away, and some foolish knowledge has been imposed upon us that we are thinking - Oh, we are advancing. Advancement of knowledge
- By the inconceivable energy of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, the Lord can appear before us in His original spiritual body, but because we have no experience of the spiritual body, we are sometimes bewildered and see the form of the Lord as material
- By the karma-bandhana, we are transmigrating from one soul, one body to another. This is not Darwin's theory. I am the soul. I am changing, I am selecting my body, in this life. Not that by nature there is a, I mean to say, gradual evolution
- By the spell of this illusory energy, we consider ourselves in the light of this bodily conception of life, and we thus think that we are American, Indian, Russian or brahmana, Hindu, Muslim, etc. BG 1972 purports

- Caitanya Mahaprabhu is the source of energy for all His devotees. Since this is the case, if we take shelter of Caitanya Mahaprabhu for the successful execution of Krsna consciousness, we are sure to make progress - CC Intro
- Caitanya Mahaprabhu then said, "Indeed, I am a madman, and you are also a madman. Therefore we are on the same platform"
- Can't we feel how we are in the grip of material nature? The word guna (mode) also means rope. When someone is bound by three strong ropes, he is certainly very tightly secured
- Cancalatvat means agitated mind. We must always remember that we are in a circumstances, material circumstances, where every time, every moment, our mind is agitated. We are not in a very comfortable situation
- Capitalists, they have drawn all the innocent people from the village, and they, they think that, "We are getting fat salary." But what is the use of fat salary
- Central point is missing. Central point is God, but we are making central point...
- Chanting and hearing, this was inaugurated by Lord Caitanya and followed by the six Gosvamins, and we are also following in the footprints of the six Gosvamins. Therefore we should offer our respectful obeisances
- Consciously or unconsciously, in all our different activities, we are killing. Therefore, it is incumbent upon every householder to perform the panca-suna sacrifice to rid himself of the reactions to such sinful activities
- Consciousness is already there because we are part and parcel of the Lord, but for us there is the affinity of being affected by the inferior modes. But the Lord, being the Supreme, is never affected. BG 1972 Introduction

- Cowherd men inquired, "My dear Nanda Maharaj, how is it that we are so intensely attached to Krsna, and Krsna is also so affectionately attached to us? Does it mean that He is the supersoul of everyone?"

- Dantah refers to one who is not envious, disturbing or puffed up with false prestige. With the Krsna consciousness movement, we are trying to introduce such brahmanas in society
- Darwin's theory, from monkey, man has come, but you never shown us that a monkey has ever given birth to a man. So all this false propaganda, we are no more interested
- Dear Krsna, as women, we are certainly satisfied when our hearts are engaged in the activities of family affairs, but our hearts have already been stolen by You. We can no longer engage them in family affairs
- Dear Krsna, we gopis have neglected the order of our husbands, sons, family, brothers, friends, have left their company to come to You. You know everything about our desires. We have come only because we are attracted by the supreme music of Your flute
- Dear son, we have been defeated by our enemies, and therefore we are very much aggrieved. Please mercifully fulfill our desires by relieving our distress through the strength of your austerities. Please fulfill our prayers
- Dear Syamasundara, they (the gopis) said, we are all Your eternal servitors. Whatever You order us to do, we are obliged to perform without hesitation because we consider it our religious duty
- Death is already there in material nature, but we are so eager to promote it by killing everyone at one drop - this is called mayayapahrta-jnana knowledge carried away by illusion
- Death means to leave this body and carried by the subtle body to another gross body. That is called death. We are carried by the mind, intelligence and ego, subtle body. Just like we can experience a good scent of rose flower is carried by the air
- Death means we are in the cycle of birth and death. It is the duty of the father and mother, the duty of the guru, the duty of the relative, to save one another from the cycle of birth and death
- Defeated and bereft of all weapons, some of the demigods gave up fighting and praised you with folded hands, and some of them, appearing before you (Kamsa) with loosened garments and hair, said, "O lord, we are very much afraid of you" - SB 10.4.34
- Designation means falsely identifying that I am this body. Now the soul is in this body. Next time the soul is in another body. So according to the body we are having designations. As soon as we get American body, I think myself American
- Detachment is the sign that one is advancing in bhakti-yoga. Bhaktih paresanubhavo viraktir anyatra ca (SB 11.2.42). That is the test of advancing in bhakti. If we are advanced, we are no longer attached to material enjoyment
- Devarsi-bhuta, apta. Apta means relatives or family. We are indebted to the father, mother, elderly family members. In this way we are implicated with so many debts
- Devayani would have immediately replied (while taking Devayani out of the well, King Yayati certainly appreciated her youthful beauty, and he might have asked which caste she belongs to), "We are already married because you have accepted my hand"
- Devotional service means engaging the spiritual body and spiritual senses in the service of the Lord. When we are engaged in such activities, the actions and reactions of the gross and subtle bodies cease
- Dharma is not a kind of faith, religion is not a kind of faith, but it is a duty, varnasrama-dharma. So that duty we are forgetting, and therefore we are coming to the level of animals
- Dharma means characteristic. So what is our characteristic? I was going to explain. That we are now serving our senses. This is our material characteristic. Material characteristic because originally I am servant. I am not master
- Dharma means occupational duty. Just like according to Vedic culture, we are supposed to follow the varnasrama-dharma. It has become very ambiguous at the present moment, Hindu dharma. There is no such thing as Hindu dharma mentioned
- Dharma means that our constitutional position is to serve. But our service being misplaced, we are not happy. Actually, we are serving not any person, but we are serving our different types of desires
- Dharma means the natural instinct. The natural instinct is to obey the superior person. Every one of us, we are meant for obeying the Supreme
- Disease should be cured, not to increase it. But at the present moment we are mad after increasing the disease. We are acting in such a way that we have to accept another body. That means material disease will continue
- Do not be puffed up with false knowledge. Everyone, we should think that we are ignorant. We should have to receive knowledge
- Do you belong to the Arjuna category? No. We are thousand times lower than Arjuna's category. And what was impossible for Arjuna, do you think it is possible for you?
- Does Bhagavan comes under maya? No. Krsna says, mama maya. Maya is the maidservant of Krsna, and we are servant of maya. So how we can become Bhagavan? This is common sense
- Don't make any amendment, interpretation. As Krsna says, you do it; then your life is successful. The instruction is there. It is not that we are manufacturing some ideas
- Don't think that we are after vegetarian, nonvegetarian. No. That is not our philosophy. Because either you take vegetable or you take meat, you are killing. And you have to kill, otherwise you cannot live. That is nature's way
- Due to different mental conditions, in dreams we are put into advantageous and disadvantageous positions
- Due to material association we are entrapped by the stringent laws of material nature and put into the cycle of repeated birth and death under the false impression of bodily identification
- Due to our manipulation of material activities, a great deal of dust has collected over our mind's clear mirror, and as a consequence we are unable to see things in perspective
- Due to the quality of our actions, we come to the association of the modes of material nature, and by superior arrangement we are given a chance to enjoy the fruitive results of such activities in different types of bodies
- Durbhiksa means these brahmacaris, sannyasis, they should go to every householder's house and take some alms. When this is refused, that means we are calling durbhiksa, scarcity of food grain. It should be given
- During the daytime the dogs and asses think, - We are working, but these spiritualists, they are not working

- Each of us has his own ideas, and we are becoming increasingly involved, individually, socially, communally and nationally, in the complexities of karmanubandha, sinful activities
- Each one of us, we are part and parcel of God. So we have got some duty. Just like the part and parcel of my body has got some duty. The eyes, his duty is to see. The ear, his duty is to hear
- Either Krsna or we, every one of us are ever-existing, because we are part and parcel of Krsna. Therefore, if Krsna is ever-existing, so we are also ever-existing. A particle of gold is gold, qualitatively
- Either you say Absolute Truth or the Supersoul, the same thing. But this life is meant for understanding. If we miss this opportunity, we do not know where we are going. The defect of the modern civilization is they don't care. Hedonism, Carvaka's theory
- Eka, the sun is one, but the sunshine means combination of many small atomic particles. Similarly, God is one, and we, part and parcel of God, we are many. Try to understand this. This is authoritative statement
- Entangled means for one resultant action we are now, we have got this body. Again we are going to take another material body. So this is a chain of birth and death
- Envy and friendship arise in one who is imperfect. We fear our enemies because in the material world we are always in need of help. The Lord, however, does not need anyone's help, for He is atmarama
- Even God has got this discrimination. There are bad elements. So if in God's mind there is good element, bad element... So we are part and parcel of God. We must have also the same sentiment. We cannot avoid it
- Even if we are able to do something temporarily beneficial, time will see that the good project is frustrated in course of time
- Even if we are accustomed to sinful activities on account of bad habits, still, we can engage ourself in devotional service of Vasudeva
- Even if we are contaminated by the quality of goodness of this material world, that is also contaminated. That is also cause of our entanglement
- Even if we fall down sometimes, not intentionally, but accidentally - because we are practiced to so many bad things, it may be possible that even I take full care, still, the influence is so strong, I may fall down - Krsna excuses such kind of falldown
- Even on the very planet where we are now living, there are restrictions upon the entrance of foreigners into a country where the citizens are more prosperous
- Even rules and regulation fails, but chanting may not be stopped. Even sometimes we fail. There is possibility of failing, because we are conditioned, and there is every chance of falling down
- Even we are eating, we can remember Krsna. Krsna bada daya-maya, karibare jihva jaya, svaprasada-anna dila bhai. So we want. While sleeping, if we think of Krsna, it may be that we may dream of Krsna also. That is possible
- Every child is the part and parcel of the father. Similarly Krsna, the Supreme Lord, God, we all living entities, we are sons, or part and parcel of God. Qualitatively we are one. Just like a small particle of gold is also gold
- Every moment there is danger. It is not very peaceful living at the present moment. We are running, we are flying in the sky
- Every one of these living entities, they are making . . . having a hard struggle for existence. But under the spell of the illusory energy, they are thinking, "We are happy," although whole day and night they are unhappy; their desires are not fulfilled
- Every one of us is serving under the order of maya, illusory energy, material energy, and we are becoming tired, sometimes very much fatigued
- Every one of us is under the impression that we are these bodies, but actually we are not. Accepting the body to be the self is called illusion, or maya. The third imperfection is that conditioned souls have a tendency to cheat
- Every one of us, because we have got different types of body according to my desire, we are acting differently. So if we come back again to the spiritual platform, then we will not work differently. We shall work concomitantly
- Every one of us, we are trying to control over the material energy. The big stone, big hill, they, that is material energy, but the spiritual energy, a human being, is breaking the hill by dynamite. Therefore it is superior energy
- Every one of us-anandamayo 'bhyasat (Vedanta-sutra 1.1.12). God is also anandamaya. We, being part and parcel of God, we are also seeking after ananda. So you cannot get permanent ananda either by Brahman realization or Paramatma realization
- Every Vaisnava thinks himself as very insignificant. Actually, every one of us is very insignificant in comparison to the Supreme Lord. What we are? Nothing
- Everybody is saying, not only politicians, but everybody is saying that we are degrading; moral standard is degrading. But nobody acts. That is the difficulty

- Everyone claims that "We are also following Vyasadeva." But not superficially. Actually following Vyasadeva. Just like Vyasadeva accepted Krsna as the Supreme Personality of Godhead

- Everyone has to surrender to someone superior. That is always the nature of our living condition. At the present moment we are trying to surrender to someone - either to society or to our nation, family, state or government
- Everyone is serving his senses. This is the position. This is dharmasya glanir bhavati. As soon as we are engaged in serving our senses, that is dharmasya glanih. And as soon as we agree to serve the senses of Krsna, that is dharma
- Everyone is suffering for misuse of their intelligence, denying the authority of God. And everyone can take advantage. We are giving that knowledge. Without any exception, everyone can take
- Everyone is working hard day and night just to give pleasure to his own self, under either the bodily or spiritual concept of life. We are attached to material possessions because they give pleasure to the senses or to the body
- Everyone loves somebody. But we are being frustrated, because that is not real love
- Everyone should take lessons from Prahlada Maharaja about how we are engaged in so-called temporary happiness through bodily exercises for sense enjoyment
- Everyone who is intelligent should know that because of our concept of bodily existence, we are subjected to suffering and enjoyment
- Everyone, even a child can understand that we are, our svarupa, our constitutional position, is that we are servant of God, Krsna. But the material world is so bewildering that everyone is thinking that "I am master of everyone"
- Everything belongs to the Supreme, and therefore one should not usurp another's property. We have a tendency to manufacture many things. Especially nowadays, we are building skyscrapers and developing other material facilities
- Everything has two sides, black side and bright side. We are interested with the bright side. Black side we can point out, but anyone who is sincere, he'll take the bright side. Sajjano gunam icchanti dosam icchanti pamarah
- Everything in detail is there (in BG). Simply one has to become little intelligent. But we remain unintelligent, rascal, because we are associating with rascals - these rascal philosopher, religionists, avatara, bhagavan, svami, yogis and karmis
- Everything is being done by nature. We are simply falsely thinking, ahankara-vimudhatma kartaham iti manyate. This illusion is going on
- Everything is energy of God, Krsna, but this material world means we are missing Krsna. Wherefrom this energy has come? That point we are missing

- Factually we are related to the Supreme Lord in service. The Supreme Lord is the supreme enjoyer, and we living entities are His servitors. We are created for His enjoyment. BG 1972 Introduction
- Fever is not his natural condition, but somehow or other, he has got fever. Similarly, we are immortal. That will be explained. Na jayate na mriyate va (BG 2.20). The living entity never takes birth, never dies; therefore immortal
- First of all, the next body may not be for cultivating knowledge in spiritual life because we are already fallen, and if we do not elevate, we may accept another body, still fallen
- First of all, we are united, husband and wife. Then we want a nice apartment or house, grha. Then, to maintain the house, we require a field, field of activity. Generally, formerly, they were agricultural. So you must have income
- First of all, you have to die. You may manufacture some so-called ananda, but you'll die. Now, suppose we are dancing here, and if we understand that immediately death will take place, then we shall not be able to enjoy the dancing
- Five thousand years ago, Krsna said, "I am the supreme authority. There is no authority superior to Me." He is still so. Therefore we are simply attempting to introduce Krsna
- Following in the footsteps of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, we are trying to convince everyone that the devotional service of the Lord is enjoined in every scripture
- For example, from these literatures we are given the histories of Krsna's appearances and disappearances millions and billions of years ago
- For instance, we are using many machines for the advancement of our present Krsna consciousness movement, machines like typewriters, dictaphones, tape recorders, microphones and airplanes
- For our past karma, we have created this body and we are suffering. Therefore our mission should be not to create another body. And finish all suffering in this body and do not create another material body - that is actually our duty
- For some time we play as master or servant, as actors play on the stage under someone else's direction. While we are in the human form, we should put an end to this nonsensical stage performance. We should come to our original constitutional position
- For the ultimate realization of the goal of life, we are concerned with the fire of the spirit, not the dull wood or earth of matter
- For upkeep of the human society in order, according to the quality and work, there must be division. But that is not that division as we are thinking at the present moment in India - a man is born in the brahmana family, he is brahmana. No
- For want of sufficient knowledge in the absolute science, we are now covered with illusion, and therefore we think that we are separate from Krsna. Although we are separated parts of Krsna, we are nevertheless not different from Him. BG 1972 purports
- Forgetting our father, forgetting our God, we are criminal within this material world. Therefore our only business is how to get out of this prison house and go back to home, back to Godhead
- Form of Krsna means there is no shadow of any material contamination. Ananda-matram. Ananda-matram avikalpam aviddha-varcah. And not that... Suppose we are sometimes happy and next time I am unhappy, but this ananda is eternal
- Formerly, from all parts of the world, used to come to India to learn what is spiritual life. Even Jesus Christ went there. And from China and from other countries. That is history. And we are forgetting our own asset
- Freedom is achieved when we are in constantly touch with the supreme spirit, Krsna. That supreme spirit is Krsna. So this assembly which we are trying to conduct is just to keep in touch constantly with Krsna
- From moral point of view, we are drinking milk from the cow, so she's mother
- From the spiritual point of view we are all spiritual sparks, parts and parcels of the Supreme Spirit, God. Either materially or spiritually we are basically one, but we make friends and enemies as dictated by the illusory energy
- From this verse (of SB 8.5.23) we can understand the situation of Kali-yuga, through which we are now passing
- From Vedic literatures we can understand that we don't have to work hard all day simply to maintain this body. We are working very hard because we are trying to control material nature for the purposes of sense gratification

- Generally karmis, they want something from God. They go to temple, they go to church, for begging something: "I am hungry, give me my daily bread." "Give me," something. So long we are on the platform of "give me," you will never be happy
- Generally we are reluctant to hear about the activities of the Lord, but Krsna's childhood activities are so attractive that they are automatically pleasing to the mind and ear - SB 10.7.1-2
- Generally, sannyasa is not accepted until one is sixty years old. But in this age there is no guarantee whether we are going to live up to sixty years old age. So sometimes younger generation also offered sannyasa
- Generally, when we get something desirable we are very happy, and when we get something undesirable we are distressed. But if we are actually in the spiritual position these things will not agitate us
- Give up the connection with woman is recommended. So in our Society it will be a good test. We are mixed up with men and women. If you, in spite of this allurement, if you do not become attracted by woman, then you should know you are paramahamsa
- Go back home, back to Godhead. That is the mission of human life. And that point we are missing. We are engaged in so-called philanthropic work. Real purpose of life we are missing. And this can be done only in this human form of life
- God and we living entities all of us are persons, individual persons (indistinct). So all of us living entities person-to-person, God is the supreme person
- God and we, we are all individuals. But the difference is that He's nityo nityanam. Nityanam means plural number. Nityo nityanam. Nityo is singular number, and nityanam means plural number. We are all plural number
- God cannot be plural number. God is always singular number, one. If God is plural number, then that is not God. That plural-number God may be the living entities. We are living entities, and God is also living entity, but the supreme living entity
- God has created so many witnesses. The first witness is surya, the sun. How you can go away from the sunlight? Anywhere you go... We are in this room. Because it is daytime, the sunlight is there. Suryah agnih. Agnih means fire
- God is always beside us, present in our hearts. When we leave the body, God also goes with us, and when we take on another body, He goes with us there just to see what we are doing. When shall we turn our face towards Him? He is always waiting
- God is as sentient as we are. He is satisfied by our prayers and dissatisfied by our harsh words against Him. In order to give protection to His devotee, He is always ready to tolerate insulting words from the atheists
- God is complete, His creation is complete, and His arrangements are complete, but we are creating disturbances
- God is eternally existing. That is the fact. We cannot understand that. Because we are in the material world, we have no experience of the eternity, what is eternity. We have no experience
- God is gold mine, and I am a gold ring. So the chemical composition of the gold ring and the chemical composition of the gold mine, the same. This is the position. Qualitatively we are one. Quantitatively we are different
- God is good, so we are also good. But we have become bad under circumstances. Just like under infection, one becomes diseased. So if we cure that infection, again he becomes good. So it is the curing process
- God is great and we are part and parcel, therefore my duty is to serve and surrender unto God. That's all
- God is great, and we are dependent on God. Therefore natural conclusion is that we have to serve God. This is the whole problem. Serving means with love. Because it is love. Serving means developing love
- God is great, and we are minute. In that way we are different. That is why Caitanya Mahaprabhu enunciated this philosophy of acintya-bhedabheda: inconceivable, simultaneous oneness with and difference from God. That is real philosophy
- God is great, and we are small. The relationship is already there. So how you can make another relationship? God is great. Is it not?
- God is great. We cannot understand how great He is! That is our folly. We are simply calculating: "He may be one inch greater than me. Or one foot greater than me." That is mental speculation
- God is great; we are small. Otherwise, we the same. God is also living entity; you are also living entity. God is eternal; you are also eternal. God is full of bliss; you are also full of bliss. So quality, there is no difference
- God is joyful, and we are part and parcel of God; we are by nature joyful. But by freaks of nature, because we are prone to be allured by the illusory nature, we have come to this material world; therefore, we are suffering. Enjoyment is our birthright
- God is kind. Even we are rebelled, even we do not surrender unto Him, still, He is so kind. He is sending us grains, He is sending us fruits, so many things
- God is not cheap. We cannot see anything, not to speak of God, without sunshine. Without sunlight we are blind. At night, we cannot see anything, and therefore we use electricity because the sun is not present
- God is not dead; we are also not dead. We shall be dead when we cease to function as part and parcel of the Supreme Whole. That is our death
- God is one. There cannot be two. So if I think I am God, then everyone is also God, so God becomes plural, so there is not God. God is one. Therefore, God is great, we are small. In quality we are one
- God is the center of all creation, of the whole universal body; He is the enjoyer, and we are His servitors. As this conception becomes clear, we become liberated
- God is the supreme living entity, and we are subordinate living entities. Eko bahunam yo vidadhati kaman. That one living entity, one eternal, He's supplying all the necessities of life to the plural number eternals
- God is vibhu, the greatest, and we are the smallest. God is infinite, we are finite, infinitesimal. That is the difference. Otherwise everything is there, as we have go
- God is witness. He is along with us always. Whatever we are desiring, whatever we are working, He is witness and He is giving the result
- God says that, "I am the enjoyer of everything." We are acting in this material world to enjoy something. We are working day and night to get some fruit of our labor and enjoy it
- God says, maya srstam: "This varnasrama system is given by Me." So how can we refuse to follow it? that means we are denying the real religion. Dharmam tu saksad bhagavat-pranitam: (SB 6.3.19) real dharma, real religion, means the order given by God
- God's existence is sac-cid-ananda vigrahah (Bs. 5.1): eternal, blissful, knowledge. So we are part and parcel. Our knowledge, our blissfulness, our eternity may be very small, but we possess the same quality
- God's position is not like this - as once we think that we are supreme, we'll immediately find someone superior. This is our position
- Goddesses of fortune can be seen automatically if we are attracted by the bodily features of the Lord
- Good qualities means we are part and parcel of God, so God is good, so we are also good. Otherwise how can I be part and parcel of God?
- Gopis lament, "When You (Krsna) come back at the end of the day, by seeing Your beautiful face we are so much attracted that we are unable to stop looking upon You constantly"
- Gopis said, "After all, we are women, so how could we disbelieve Him (Krsna)? Now we can understand that His sweet words were simply for cheating us"
- Gopis said, "Krsna may have forgotten us in the midst of the cultured women of Dvaraka, but as far as we are concerned, we still remember Him by collecting flowers & sewing them into garlands. When He does not come, we simply pass our time by crying"
- Gopis said, "We are all beautiful girls, and You are so foolish that You are rejecting our association. We do not know anyone, other than Yourself, who would miss this opportunity to associate with young girls in the dead of night"
- Gopis said, "We know that You (Krsna) are the most beloved of all Vrndavana. & You are very much loved by us also! But why are You giving us this trouble? Kindly return our garments. Just see how we're trembling from the severe cold"
- Gopis were approached: "Oh, Krsna is sick. They want, oh, dust of...?" Immediately: "Please take. Please take." She did not care that "We are going to hell by offering our dust of feet on the head of Krsna. Never mind. We shall go. Krsna will be happy"
- Gopsi said, "O infallible one (Krsna), You had better know what is the reason for our coming here. In plain words, we are here simply because we have been captivated by the sweet sound of Your flute"
- Government will be just like thieves and rogues. We are already experiencing. Now a new law has been passed in India that nobody can keep property more than five to seven lakhs of rupees. So people's incentive to earn money is now being cut down
- Great authorities should be followed; otherwise, if we simply depend on the scriptures, we are sometimes misled by rascals, or else we cannot understand or follow the different spiritual injunctions. The best path is to follow the authorities

- Had I been Bhagavan, then why I have become servant of maya? Therefore we are engaged in the service of maya in so many phases and different names
- Hare means energy, and Krsna is the name of the Supreme Lord, so when we chant Hare Krsna we are saying - O energy of the Lord, O Lord, please accept me
- Hare: "O the energy of God, 'Krsna,' O the Lord, please engage me in Your service." Because we are now engaged in the service of Satan, maya
- He (Krsna) has given us little independence because we are part and parcel of Krsna. Krsna is fully independent. He does not depend on anyone. But although we have got independence to a certain extent, but under the control of maya
- He (Krsna) is the owner of the universe, He is the supreme enjoyer, the supreme knower of everything, and that we are always welcome to associate with Him by the grace of His devotees, by the grace of a spiritual master
- He (Krsna) therefore told Narada, "My dear sage, when Your Holiness comes here, you are full in yourself. Although We are householders and are always in need, you don't require anyone's help, for you are self-satisfied"
- He has got full knowledge. That is God, omniscient. He has got full knowledge. We may not have because we are very tiny. A child may not have knowledge, but the father knows everything. Similarly, He is the supreme father
- He is slapped by the police. He says, "Oh, I am independent. Go on slapping." This is insanity. Is it not insanity? The police slaps him, and he says, "I am independent." Do you think independence? So that sort of independence we are having
- He is the supreme individual personality, and we are subordinate personalities. That is the difference. Otherwise, in quality, God, you and me, are all the same
- He is the supreme living entity and is never affected by maya, but we are subordinate, minute living entities, prone to be affected by the limitations of maya
- He knows everything, even within your heart, what you're thinking, what you are planning. It cannot be concealed to Krsna. This is our foolishness, that we are doing something, concealing
- He thought that he is very good gentleman. (indistinct) property is for isvara? No, he says that "We are one. Your property is my property and my property is my property."
- He told the brahmana, "My dear sir, I belong to the dynasty of Kusa. Because we are aristocratic ksatriyas, you have to give some dowry for my daughter"
- He's (the dog) thinking "I am dog," you are thinking "Englishman," I am thinking "Indian." There is no difference. So if we keep people in darkness of dog's mentality, and declare we are advanced in civilization, most misguiding
- Here (SB 3.21.3) we are speaking of Svayambhuva Manu, but in Bhagavad-gita we hear about Vaivasvata Manu
- Here in Bombay they also have the complaint that we are nuisance. What can be done?
- Here in this material world, we are falsely dressed with this material body and imitating Krsna, enjoyer, exactly like the woman dressed in male's dress wants to enjoy. That is not possible
- Here we are discussing about science of God, maybe very small number of men we are sitting, but we are all, because we are human being we are able to discuss. But we cannot call a cat or dog and sit down here and understand the science of God
- Here we are having sense pleasure artificially through this body. Before leaving this body, if we practice to stop sense pleasure as much as possible... There is training, of course. Without training, nothing can be done
- Here we are trying to be happy by artificial means, and we are becoming frustrated. But if you actually be situated in Krsna consciousness, simply you revive your original position, joyful, simply joyful. Anandamayo 'bhyasat
- Here we have got one quality, that fear, always fearing. Just like we are having these railings, why? We are afraid, we may not be attacked. The material life means ahara-nidra-bhaya-maithunam ca. We must eat, we must sleep, and we must be afraid
- Here, in the material world, as we are engaged, unalloyed happiness is not possible. But if you actually want unalloyed happiness, then you have to be advanced in spiritual consciousness, unalloyed
- How are we doing it (following sanatana-dharma)? Is it not practical? Krsna requests, man-mana bhava mad-bhakto mad-yaji mam namaskuru: "Always think of Me, become My devotee, worship Me, and offer your obeisances to Me." Where is the impracticality
- How can we become Bhagavan? If we are Bhagavan, we are actually the supreme powerful one. If this is the case, why are we in a miserable condition? Why are we under the influence of maya? Does Bhagavan come under the influence of maya? No
- How is it that we are finding it very easy to spread Krsna consciousness among the Europeans and Americans
- How much foolish we are that we are getting a particular type of body, and the sukha-duhkha, happiness and distress, is already fixed up. That is called destiny. As soon as I get a particular type of body, my happiness and sufferings are all destined
- How much intelligence has got God, we can imagine. If we, our teeny brain, we are so intelligent . But unfortunately the rogues, having got a brain from God, they are denying God
- How we can be independent? We are teeny, very small. There is no question of independence. The so-called independence, as we fight for independence, that is maya
- How you can say God is dead? God is not dead, but we are dead to appreciate the function of God. We are dead
- However insignificant we are, we think that we are also God, that we can create a universe or that we can create another God. This is why we cannot see or understand the Supreme Personality of Godhead
- Human civilization means to take care of the spiritual side. If there is no such attempt to take care of the spiritual side, simply for the material side, then we are no better than the animals
- Human form of life means to make solution of all the problems of material life. Sukham atyantikam. Every one of us, we are searching after happiness, that's a fact. But we are misguided
- Human life is so important, and we are simply wasting this valuable life with this temporary adjustment of so-called happiness or distress - big, big plans. Simply bluffing
- Hypophosphate is the very nice medicine for weak health. But that . . . just try to understand that such important medicinal value we are producing in our stool, what to speak of other things. So that is mystic power

- I am eternal, so why should I be interested in nonpermanent things? Who wants nonpermanent existence? No one wants it. If we are living in an apartment and the landlord asks us to vacate, we are sorry, but we are not sorry if we move to a better apartment
- I am neither Indian nor European. You are not Indian, European. We are giving more stress on the designation. That is the mistake of modern civilization
- I am seventy-six years old means I have already died seventy-six years. Suppose I live, say, eighty years, ninety years. So I have already died seventy-six years. So death is sure. They say "We are advancing." What is that advancement? Death is sure
- I am sitting here, and the bug is also sitting here. That does not mean we are very confidential. No. Bug is different visions, and my business different. And bug's business is biting. That kind of association will not help
- I am spirit soul. I am not feeling comfortable with this material body. Therefore the right conclusion is how to go to the spiritual world or attain a spiritual body. That information we are getting from Bhagavad-gita
- I am trying to enjoy. This is material world. We have forgotten that we are part and parcel of Krsna. Our business is not to enjoy but to help Krsna to enjoy. That is our business, part and parcel

- If a person, president, cheats his countrymen somehow or other, and why not others? They will also do that. "Oh, president does it. What I am? What can I know?" In this way, the more we are inclined to sense gratification, we become sinful
- If by karma, by our activities, we are fit for taking birth in a good family, then I will get my birth in good family or in the human society or demigod society. But if my activities are lower grade, then I will have to take birth in the animal family
- If cats and dogs and hogs can get food, will Krsna not arrange for our food also, if we are Krsna conscious and fully devote our service to Him? Is Krsna ungrateful? No
- If despite this opportunity (for spiritual realization) for human life we are unable to revive our natural affection for the Lord, we must know that we are wasting our life for nothing

- If one is intelligent enough, he will understand by association of sadhus that this material life is not happy at all, but we want happiness. That is a fact. Every one of us, we are searching after happiness
- If one is situated firmly in KC, the greatest danger cannot disturb him. There are so many dangers in life because the material world is a place of danger. We tend to close our eyes to this, and because we are foolish we try to adjust to these dangers
- If one screw is lost, if you have to purchase from the market, you will have to pay some value. But the same screw, if it is not attached to the machine, it has no value. Similarly, we are very insignificant spiritual spark
- If one spark falls on your body, on your garment, it burns. But it is not as powerful as the big fire. Similarly, God is all powerful. God is great. We are part and parcel of God. Therefore, our greatness is very, very small, infinitesimal. God is great
- If our real consciousness, means Krsna consciousness, is awakened, then we become aware of our position, constitutional position. Then we are saved from this repetition of birth and death and go back home, back to Godhead
- If somebody says that "I am supreme God," or "supreme controller," then we have got objection. Supreme means he has no controller. And ordinary controller, just like we are . . . you are controller

- If the United Nation passed resolution that, "The whole planet belongs to God; we are sons of God, so let us live peacefully as sons of God," oh, there is no quarrel. But that they will never understand. They'll simply try to divide
- If there is a superior person present, the superior person cannot be the object of our mercy. Rather, we are objects for the mercy of the superior person. Therefore showing compassion and mercy is a relative activity
- If there is little pain in the finger, I become so much disturbed because I have got intimate connection with this finger. Similarly, we have got intimate connection with Krsna, and we are fallen. Therefore Krsna also feels little pain
- If there is real jnana, then there will be vairagya. Because we are suffering on account of an attachment to this material world, so jnana means that - I have nothing to do with this material world because I am not this material body

- If we think that we can use whatever wealth we have amassed for our own sense gratification, we are acting out of kama, lust. But if we come to understand that everything we have belongs to Krsna, we are liberated

- If you criticize my dress, I criticize your dress, that's all. Then you go on criticizing dress, where is the talk between gentlemen? That is our disease, that we are concerned with the dress, this body, not the person who has the dress
- If you develop your divine qualities, as they're described, ahimsa, sattva-samsuddhih . . . sattva-samsuddhih. Sattva-samsuddhih means existentional purification. Our . . . we, as spirit soul, we are pure originally, because Krsna is pure
- If you enquire, "Oh, when the child is born?" you say, say, "One week." That means he has died one week. We are taking that he is living one week, but actually he has died one week. That is wonderful, that still he is living, he has not died
- If you have no appetite, if you eat, then you suffer. If you infect some disease, you'll suffer. That is practical. So we are associating in, being infected by lust, greediness, illusion, fearfulness, so many things
- If you keep yourself on the material platform, then artificially you may say, "We are equal," but at last we shall fight. This is our proposition. Therefore we request everyone that you come to the spiritual platform
- If you learn these three things: that God is the proprietor, God is the enjoyer and He is the real friend. . . Actually, He is the real friend. And our godlessness means we are claiming that we are proprietor

- If you produce some fourth-class, fifth-class, tenth-class of men what is social work? We are producing that. Just see. Here is first-class man. They do not have any bad habit, illicit sex, intoxication, meat eating, or gambling
- If You think, my dear Krsna, now we are well established, we have got our kingdom back, so everything is nicely done, so You want to leave us, that is not a very good proposal. Because we are not free as yet
- If you want to enjoy spiritual life, then you have to enjoy in spiritual body. But as we have no information of the spiritual life, spiritual enjoyment, we are simply desiring to enjoy this world
- If you want to understand transcendental subject matter, not material, spiritual... Spiritual is completely unknown to us because we do not know what is spiritual. We are identifying with this body
- If you, by innocence, put your hand on the fire, so fire will not excuse you. So innocence is no excuse. You have to be learned. Therefore we are here to give proper education to the people
- Ignorance is animal life - in ignorance, one does not know what is God, how to become happy, why we are in this world. For example, if you take an animal to the slaughterhouse, it will go. This is ignorance. But a man will protest
- Ignorance is no excuse, similarly out of ignorance we are committing so many sinful life's and we are becoming liable to be punished, that is the law of nature. You cannot avoid it, if you touch the fire it will burn
- Ignorance is no excuse. Therefore human life is distinct from animal life. If we live in human life without caring for the supreme laws, then we are destined to suffer
- Imminent death does not mean motor accident. Imminent death means we are in the cycle of birth and death. It is the duty of the father and mother, the duty of the guru, the duty of the relative, to save one another from the cycle of birth and death
- Imperfect senses. We are gathering imperfect knowledge. But we don't neglect knowledge. We give credit to the philosophers, scientists. But we advise them that "Your research work should be for God, not for any temporary physical or chemical compound"

- In all cases, Caitanya Mahaprabhu is the source of energy for all His devotees. Since this is the case, if we take shelter of Caitanya Mahaprabhu for the successful execution of Krsna consciousness, we are sure to make progress

- In this material world we have many nice facilities for living, but we are so foolish that we do not ask who has made this world habitable for us and has arranged it so nicely

- Kuntidevi, by humble submissing that: You are meant for the paramahamsa, for the amalatmanam, for the muninam & who are engaged in bhakti-yoga. And what we are? We are simply woman. We are in the lower grade. How we can understand You? This is humbleness
- Kurus said, "O creator of innumerable universes, let us fall down and offer You (Balarama) our respectful obeisances again and again. We are now completely surrendered unto You. Please, therefore, be merciful upon us and give us Your protection"
- Kurute vikarma, we are trained up simply to act, opposite direction. Instead of doing good work, we are educated to do bad work, just the opposite. And that is not good

- Liberation means freedom from material bondage or nescience. In the material world we are suffering life after life because of our bodily identification, and liberation is freedom from that miserable condition of life
- Like a man fallen in the ocean, the only survival is... If somebody goes and picks him just one inch above the water, he feels immediately relieved. Immediately. So as soon as we are fixed up in Krsna consciousness, the immediate relief
- Little movement is going on; we are walking. But not this severe type of exercise as surfers and fighting with the sea waves for four hours, five hours, ten hours
- Loka means planets. We are proprietor of certain extent of land here, and we are very much proud. But God says that "I am the proprietor of all the planets." And suhrdam sarva-bhutanam. And He is the friend of all living entities

- Love is something tangible. It is not merely fantasy or imagination. So we Krsna conscious people accept Krsna as God, and we are worshiping Krsna, and we are making progress

- Madness means forgetfulness of his real life. So we are now forgetful of our real life
- Maharaja Nanda replied, "We are arranging, therefore, to pacify King Indra, because he has very kindly sent us clouds to pour down a sufficient quantity of rain for successful agricultural activities. Water is very important"
- Maharaja Pariksit was cursed by a brahmana that he would die within seven days, and he was preparing. He was preparing himself because, "I have to meet death." But we are so forward that we do not think of our death
- Many births we are spoiling in this darkness. We do not know that. The university education is blind, andha. They cannot give you this information that we are going to the university, we are spoiling our time simply
- Many things are reducing. We are thinking that we are making progress, but actually we are reducing. This is called maya. We are making progress on the wrong side
- Material existence is the cause of all our sufferings, for we do not suffer once we are out of the material condition
- Material existence, or the sense gratification process, is conducted according to the type of body we are given by prakrti, or material nature. As such, there must be divisions of pious and impious activities - punya and papa
- Material life means - when you desire to gratify your senses, that is material life. And when you desire to serve God, that is spiritual life. That is the difference between material life and spiritual life. Now we are trying to serve our senses
- Material life means to be involved with so many unwanted things. That is material life. At the present moment, especially in this Kali-yuga, we are very, very much fallen
- Material means when we do not understand Krsna, when we do not appreciate His creative energy or when we are in ignorance. That is called material life
- Material nature, has been described as the prostitute, and we are trying to become the husband of the prostitute. Has anyone become happy by becoming husband of a prostitute?
- Materially we are limited to impregnate by only one particular part of our body, but the Supreme Lord, Krsna or Maha-Visnu, can impregnate by any part. Simply by glancing the Lord can conceive countless living entities in the womb of material nature
- Materially we are limited to impregnating by only one particular part of our body, but the Supreme Lord, Krsna or Maha-Visnu, can impregnate by any part - CC Intro

- Nitya-mukta means eternally liberated. They never come down in this material world. And we are nitya-baddha-ever conditioned, eternally conditioned
- Nityananda Prabhu then said, "We want to tell You something. Although we cannot stay without speaking, we are still very much afraid to speak"
- No anxiety means when you know that "Krsna will protect me," you have no anxiety. To become in the family of Krsna. We are already in the family of Krsna, but in a different way
- No one but Visnu has any independence. If we develop consciousness of this fact, then we are in actual Krsna consciousness. We should always remember that Krsna is the only supreme master and that everyone else is His servant

- Parama Koruna, 1975 part 2 - You cannot say, "No, I will not die." No, that is not possible. So where is your freedom? But we are declaring, "Now we are independent." This is all illusion. Caitanya appeared to save us from all these illusions
- Pariksit Maharaja got seven days' time that, "You shall die within seven days." We have no even one second's guarantee. This is our position. But still, we are so much attached
- Part is never equal to the whole. We are part of the Supreme Brahman, mamaivamsah. So in quality, just like a small particle of gold is also gold - quality is the same. A small drop of seawater is the same quality - salty

- People are misled. They are thinking that by material comfort they will be happy. And practically we are seeing, this competition of material comfort... The capitalist and the labor class, worker class, they are fighting - strike
- People in this age, they have become so misled, misguided, that they are not taking care of the real problem, but they are very much engaged in the temporary problems which are already solved. We are simply mismanaging them
- People of the world, they're hankering after this civilization. Unfortunately we are miser. We are not giving them
- Phalena pariciyate, one has to study by the result. Not that superficially you show that, "We are very much advanced." Phalena: what is the result? Phalena pariciyate, your, that is in English word also - End justifies the means
- Pitrloka, pitr-pinda. We are indebted in so many ways. It is very difficult to liquidate all these debts
- Practically our creation is for enjoying in the company, in the association of the Supreme Lord. But we thought that it is better to become an imitation God and try to lord it over the material nature. That is not possible; therefore we are suffering
- Prahlada answers (of can't we enjoy in this life & engage ourselves in Krsna's service in our next life) - We are now in material entanglement. Now I have this body, but I will quit this body after a few years and then have to accept another body
- Prahlada Maharaja now gives his conclusion: My dear friends, because the Supreme Lord is present everywhere and because we are part and parcel of the Supreme Lord, our duty is to be merciful to all living entities
- Prahlada Maharaja says we are imagining that there are different types of pleasure on account of different types of body, but the pleasure is fundamentally the same
- Prakasananda Sarasvati continued, By Your (Caitanya's) effulgence it appears that You are just like the Supreme Narayana, the Personality of Godhead, but by Your behavior, You appear to be otherwise. So we are inquisitive to know why You act in this way
- Prakrteh kriyamanani gunaih karmani sarvasah (BG 3.27). We are completely under the grip of nature's law. We cannot change it. If we challenge that, "There is no death," no, death will come. That is nature's law
- Prakrti can give us material bodies, but as spirit souls we are parts and parcels of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. This is confirmed in BG (15.7): The living entity, being part and parcel of God, is not a product of this material world

- Protesting Krsna's absence from Vrndavana, another gopi said, "My dear Balaramaji, we are of course village girls, so Krsna could cheat us in that way, but what about the women of Dvaraka? Don't think they are as foolish as we are!"

- Radharani addressed the bumblebee: As far as We are concerned, We are more intelligent than the goddess of fortune. We are not going to be cheated anymore by Krsna or His messengers
- Radharani is daivi-maya. Just like we are, in our material conditional life, we are under the material energy. Similarly, in our liberated state we have to become under the spiritual energy. That spiritual energy is Radharani
- Radharani said to the bumblebee: "Krsna is always served very faithfully by the goddess of fortune. In comparison with her, we are most insignificant. Indeed, we are nothing. Yet although He is very cunning, Krsna is also very charitable"
- Radharani said, "My dear friend, now I have met My very old and dear friend Krsna on this field of Kuruksetra. I am the same Radharani, and now We are meeting together"
- Ravana also wanted to make a staircase to go directly to the heavenly planet. Just like we are. At the present moment, we are trying to go directly to the moon planet by sputnik. But it has failed. It is not possible
- Real aim of life is to stop the cycle of birth and death. That is real aim of life. If we do not know this, then we are ignorant
- Real intelligence is that we are advancing in science, in education, in motorcars and motorcars everything. But where is our peace? Where is santi? That is intelligence
- Real piety means to come to the platform of sanatana-dharma. So if we do not come to the platform of sanatana-dharma from the platform of asanatana-dharma, we are simply committing sins
- Real religion means to come out from this foolish conception of life, that - There is no controller. We are everything. Whatever you like, you can do. There is no life after death, and there is no life in other planets
- Real worker is Krsna. We are simply instrument
- Religion does not mean stamping in different way. Religion means to know God the great and we are subordinate, maintained by God. This is religion
- Religion without God Consciousness has no meaning, and God Consciousness means we are eternally related with Him. He is the Father, and everyone of us is the part and parcel or son. He is the Supreme Leader, and we are subordinates
- Religion, I have already said, it is a kind of faith. Faith can be changed, but our constitutional position, occupational duty, that cannot be changed. We are eternal servant of Krsna, but without serving Krsna we are serving maya

- Sadacara is there. But these people, asadacari, and passing as sannyasi. Cigarette, meat-eating and everything, drinking. We are asking common men to give it up, and they say: Oh, what is the wrong there
- Samsrta. This material world is called samsrti, continuously suffering. That we cannot understand. This is called ignorance, continuously suffering. They are thinking, "We are very happy," but this material world means continuously suffering

- Simply we are under false impression that, "I am this," "I am that," & lastly, "I am God" What kind of God you are? If you get immediately little toothache, you go to physician-god, the dentist-god & you're claiming that you are God. This is called maya
- Simply we have to change the consciousness. Everything we are now doing in the matter of sense gratification, we have to prepare ourself, we have to train ourself for the sense gratification of Krsna. That is Krsna consciousness
- Since each millennium consists of 4,300,000 years and we are now in the twenty-eighth millennium, some 120,400,000 years have passed since the battle took place on the bank of the River Narmada
- Since Krsna is not subject to birth, death, old age or disease, and since we are part and parcel of Krsna, we also are not subject to birth, death, old age and disease

- So by sense enjoyment, nobody can become happy. Because we are in the material existence. And our senses are false senses. Real senses - spiritual senses. So we have to awaken our spiritual consciousness
- So even you have not found out any place at Hamburg, you three together you can chant Hare Krishna kirtana in the same way as they are doing in London and other cities. We are more or less concerned for preaching
- So far we are concerned, not only we, everyone, the human life is only meant for spiritual purpose. Not for material purpose
- So far we are concerned, we are eating remnants of foodstuff which was offered to Krishna, so we are not afraid of anything
- So if the Supreme Being, who is maintaining millions of trillions of living entities, He is great, or the living entities who are maintained by God, they are great? Therefore God is great, and we are subordinate. This is natural conclusion
- So if we are serious about our life, the method is very easy. The prescription is man-mana bhava mad-bhakto mad-yaji mam namaskuru (BG 18.65). Where is the difficulty? We are now serious. Chant Hare Krsna and hear Hare Krsna. Then mind is fixed up
- So in this material world we have to work very hard under these three kinds of miserable conditions of life, and we are actually doing that. Still, we are thinking that we are happy
- So it is very unfortunate that we are not taking care of our own treasure-house of knowledge, and we are trying to get knowledge from technology and be happy
- So Krsna's lila, it is not an invented, we are worshiping Krsna as something imaginary, some artistic picture. No. It is nitya-lila. Krsna is fact
- So long we are covered by this material body, we are not nirmala; we are polluted. So one has to give up this designation, bodily concept of life
- So long we are entrapped with the bodily concept of life, there is no question of spiritual life. That is the beginning. What is that? Dehino 'smin yatha dehe kaumaram yauvanam jara, tatha dehantara-praptih
- So long we are in the bodily concept of life, there are different natural instincts, and when we come to the platform of spiritual understanding, that natural instinct is different. That is real natural instinct
- So long we are in the jurisdiction of three modes of material nature, up to that time we shall disagree with one another and there will be trouble. Therefore the Vaisnava religion is meant for the peaceful person
- So long we are in the material world, the so-called happiness and distress will come and go, but our, the human life, the endeavor should be how to find out or revive our relationship with God. That is our main business
- So long we are in this material world there is constant allurement of Maya, and sometimes we fall victim
- So long we are in this material world we have to work. Karma. Karma means to gain some profit. Karma, akarma, vikarma. Vikarma means against the law. Just like ordinary laws. If you are working honestly, business or karma, that's all right
- So long we are in this material world, the miseries will continue. So a very intelligent question that, How one can get out of this miserable life?
- So long we are influenced by the two material modes of nature, rajo-guna and tamo-guna, then we will be pushed for fulfilling our lusty desires and greediness. And that will help us to become implicated in sinful activities
- So long we are living, our name, our fame, our form, our activities, are glorious, very good. And as soon as the life is gone, nobody cares. It is a lump of matter. That's all
- So long we are materially contaminated, we require this material body for enjoying senses. And the spiritual world, we get our spiritual body developed. So there is no question of becoming ghost
- So long we are materially engrossed, bodily concept of life, there will be always anxiety. This is the test. Anyone who is in anxiety, means he is materially situated. And anyone who is elevated to the spiritual platform, he is prasannatma. He is jolly
- So long we are maya-mohita-cetasah, out of Krsna's touch, we have no value. No value. Valueless. Useless. That is our position
- So long we are seated on the chariot of the untrained mind, unbridled mind, the mind will drag me to things which are nonpermanent. But my whole business is that I am permanent, I am eternal
- So long we do not love Krsna, then whatever those so-called love we are showing to the society, friendship and love and country and community, they are all futile
- So long we have got lusty desires, we have to change our body, and that we do not know, what kind of body we are going to get next birth. Therefore, without knowing this, if we become mad after material profit, then less intelligent
- So long we have got this body, we must suffer. This is the truth. Asann api klesada asa dehah (SB 5.5.4). We are getting different types of bodies, tatha dehantara-praptih (BG 2.13). Each body is for a short period. It will not last forever
- So long you are encircled by the subtle body, there is no question of liberation, because the subtle body will take you to another gross body. When we are free from the subtle body, then we are liberated. We go back to home, back to Godhead
- So many designations. But we are none of them. This is the clearing. Ceto-darpana
- So many living entities. So we are very small particle, and we have come here in this material world. Just like the Europeans especially, they go to other countries for colonizing to use the material resources for their sense gratification
- So many things we are trying, achievement. But as soon as you become properly situated in Krsna consciousness achievement, then you will think, - Oh, no achievement is better than this achievement
- So our conception is very clear; therefore we are liberated. Liberation means to become free from all false conception of life. That is liberation
- So our method is not against the sastra. Yah sastra-vidhim utsrjya. If we give up the direction of the sastra, then we are faulty
- So our real situation is that we are sanatana, Krsna is sanatana, and Krsna has His abode, sanatana. When we go back to that sanatana-dhama and live with the supreme sanatana, Krsna... And we are also sanatana
- So our this Krsna consciousness movement is like that. We are simply repeating the perfect statement of our predecessor. That's all
- So the money, giving money, we're giving, is no solution. That is practical. And here, the same girl, I do not give her any money, but by Krsna consciousness, they're satisfied
- So this is our position. Without understanding our real position we are perplexed with these all worldly problems, which are all false
- So this is the mission of high-class Vaisnava, how to preach Krsna consciousness among the suffering humanity, and this is the purport of this verse said by Prahlada Maharaja, and we are following the footprints of Prahlada Maharaja
- So we are all Brahman; simply we have to understand it. It is not that we are abrahman; by some practice we become Brahman. No. Just like gold is gold, but if it is covered with some dirt, the dirt can be removed and the gold is gold
- So we are falsely trying to enjoy maya. Enjoy means master. That is not possible. Tribhir gunamayair bhavaih. This is the influence of the three modes of material nature
- So we are living in this planet, but in other planets also there are different forms of life. So there is one planet... There are many millions of planet. Specifically, there is one planet within this universe that is called Siddhaloka
- So we are planning for happiness. Why? Why you are searching after happiness? Because constitutionally you are happy. Just like when we fall diseased we go to the doctor, physician, to cure the disease
- So we are simply repeating the same thing. We do not question whether this process of life can at all give us happiness. But we are trying and trying, trying the same thing
- So we are trying to make the situation improved because, after all, as soon as you get this material body, it is suffering. There is no question of happiness
- So we are very much proud of our advancement of knowledge, but actually there is no solution for these four principles of miseries. There is no remedy
- So we should pray to Bhaktivinoda Thakura that - We are your grandchildren, great-grandchildren, so we have got some right to beg some mercy from you
- So we small living entities, very minute, still, we are controller. We control. At least, we control our family members, my wife, my children. Or if I am bigger, I control my office, or I control my factory, I control the country, I become president
- So we, living entities, we are servant of Krsna. That is our nature. That is our nature. Simply we are trying to avoid Krsna's service. Therefore we are engaged in this maya's service, or material nature's, under different bodies
- So whatever is spoken by the Supreme Lord Himself is certainly the most authoritative. So far as we are concerned, we do not make any alterations in the statements of Krishna. Therefore we are also authority
- So when we become free from all designations, then we are pure, and in that pure state we can understand what is God. So God is pure, and when you become pure you can understand what is God
- So who is following Sankaracarya? And they say that "We are followers of Sankaracarya"
- So, we are trying to be happy so many ways, but we are not becoming happy. When we come to the real point of loving Krsna... Love is there. I want to love somebody, everyone, but that is not being properly utilized. Therefore we are unhappy
- Society creates animals, then how can it expect peace and prosperity? In spite of many big universities and all educational facilities, this society is producing hippies and frustration amongst the youth because we are spirit soul and cannot become happy
- Some miseries are inflicted by other living entities, some are inflicted by natural disasters, and some are inflicted by the mind and body themselves. In one way or another we are always struggling against these three types of miseries
- Some philosophies propound that there is no nature other than the one we are presently experiencing and that the only solution to this is to nullify it and become void. But we cannot be void because we are living entities
- Somehow or other we are now engaged in that service. We may conclude that even as dogs we must take shelter of a Vaisnava. The benefit will be the same as that which accrues to an advanced devotee under a Vaisnava’s care
- Somehow or other we have come in contact with material nature, and because of the mind and the six senses, we are struggling hard to exist. That is Darwin's theory - the struggle for existence, survival of the fittest
- Somehow or other, we are thinking separate from God. But actually that is not the fact. We are interlinked always with God, with Krsna. But some way or other, there is some difficulty. That is called maya
- Sometimes in dreams we think that we are flying in the sky, although we have no experience of flying. This means that once in a previous life, either as a demigod or astronaut, we flew in the sky
- Sometimes people criticize these American and European devotees, that they think that "They are American devotee; we are Hindu devotee. There is difference." This is not bhakti-marga. This is upadhi. Why you should think yourself as Hindu?
- Sometimes the tables turn, and we find that the dog controls the master. This happens because actually no one is the controller, and everyone is controlled. Unfortunately we are forgetful of this situation, and this forgetfulness is called maya
- Sometimes these senses are described as kala sarpa. Kala sarpa means the black cobra. As soon as the cobra touches - immediately dead. Similarly, if we allow this kala sarpa to act in their own way, that means we are inviting death at every moment
- Sometimes we are criticized because although I am (Srila Prabhupada) a sannyasi, I have taken part in the marriage ceremonies of my disciples

- Sometimes we are criticized: "Slave mentality." Yes, we want voluntarily to become slave - of Krsna

- Sometimes we are in a family of human beings, sometimes in a family of demigods, sometimes a family of cats, or sometimes a family of dogs
- Sometimes we are misled by misleaders; therefore we still remain in darkness in spite of cultivating knowledge. But actually, when we cultivate knowledge under the guidance of real guru, then we can understand vasudevah sarvam iti sa mahatma su-durlabhah
- Sometimes we are so-called happy by getting the desirable things, and mostly we are unhappy, associating with undesirable things. So in order to save ourself from these opposing elements, the best thing is suggested
- Sometimes we are very much proud of seeing and challenge, "Can you show me God?" but we forget to remember that as soon as the light is gone, the power of my seeing is gone
- Sometimes we go to an astrologer or palmist when we are in a distressed condition or when we want to know the future
- Sometimes we suffer bodily when we are attacked by a fever, and sometimes we suffer mentally when a close relative dies
- Sometimes we want to forget ourself by transferring ourself into that deep sleep, forgetting everything. Actually, that is our natural tendency. When we are too much afflicted with these material activities, anxieties
- Spiritual life does not mean that void of enjoyment, no. It is full of enjoyment. We are seeking after enjoyment, but that enjoyment is hampered by our material existence
- Spiritual life means normal life, and material life means diseased life. Therefore we are always suffering in materialistic way of life. Diseased condition means suffering
- Spiritual life, or transcendental life, does not mean that we are free from activity
- Spiritual platform is called goodness unaffected by other qualities. Sattvam visuddham. Visuddham means complete pure. No adulteration. So long we are in the material platform, the goodness is liable to be adulterated
- Spiritually, eternally, the fragments are fragments, and the Supreme is Supreme. Krsna is the Supreme, and we are fragmental parts. We are fragments eternally
- Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu said to Sarvabhauma Bhattacarya, "From your previous birth you have been in Krsna consciousness. Thus you love Krsna so much that simply by your association we are all developing Krsna consciousness"
- Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu spoke thus to Lord Jagannatha, "You are the same Krsna, and I am the same Radharani. We are meeting again in the same way that We met in the beginning of Our lives"
