- All Vaisnava should be addressed as prabhu; that is the etiquette. But Caitanya Mahaprabhu is mahaprabhu. As soon as you utter the name of Sri Caitanya, the mahaprabhu . . . because He's the greatest master

- Atmavan especially means that one should be self-possessed. He should always remain in the pure consciousness that he is spirit soul and not the material body or the mind. That will make him progress confidently in Krsna consciousness
- Attempt should be made how a fourth-class man can be raised to the first-class position by culture and education
- Atyantika-duhkha-nivrttih. The word atyantika means "ultimate," and duhkha means "sufferings." The aim of human life should be to put an end to the ultimate sufferings, but people do not even know what these ultimate sufferings are

- Because he (a wise man) realizes that he is spirit and that Krsna is the supreme spirit, he knows that his intimate relationship should be with Krsna, not with this body
- Because human society is poverty-stricken and men are devoid of Vedic knowledge and the power to chant the Vedic mantras, the Hare Krsna maha-mantra is the only shelter. People should be intelligent enough to chant it
- Because Krsna is good, His cause is also good. Thus charity should be given to a person who is engaged in Krsna consciousness

- Because the human society is in chaos, a chaotic condition. There must be division of four classes. One class must be brahmana, intelligent class of men. And one should be ksatriya, one class, the administrator
- Because the laborer cooperates, therefore demoniac persons they take advantage and make unnecessarily increase of artificial demands of the body. Better one should be satisfied with agricultural produce than go into large cities
- Because the Vedas are the standard of knowledge, even though they may appear contradictory, they should be accepted. If one does not accept them, he will be bound by the material conditions
- Because they have no Krsna consciousness, they do not know that these food grains belong to Krsna. He has sent. So instead of throwing in the ocean, it should be dispatched to the countries where there is scarcity

- Because we are eternal - nityo nityanam cetanas cetananam (Katha Upanisad 2.2.13) - we should be after eternal happiness, eternal benefit. That should be our business
- Because we are in this material world, we shall act in such a way that nobody can accuse us. Therefore Rupa Gosvami has said: The dealings should be very honest
- Because we do not know what is spirit, and we think spirit is something just opposite to this matter, and matter we find manifestation, form, therefore spirit should be formless. That is their conclusion
- Because we have material bodies, we take on so many designations; thus we call ourselves a man, a parent, an American, a Christian, Hindu, etc. These designations should be abandoned if we at all want to become free

- Being a mahatma does not mean that one wears a big beard and a particular type of dress. No, this awareness must be there. Whatever we have should be offered to Krsna

- Bhagavad-duta, those who are strictly following the dictation of Krsna under strict disciplinary chain of disciplic succession, he is Krsna's representative, and he should be given all the respect

- Brahmacari means student life, vanaprastha means retired life and sannyasa means renounced life. For them the minimum necessities of life is prescribed. And they should be automatically minimum
- Brahmana grhasthas should be satisfied with a life of adhyayana, adhyapana, yajana & yajana - being learned scholars, teaching others to be scholars, learning how to worship the SPG, Visnu, & also teaching others how to worship Him, or even the demigods
- Brahmana's business is pathan pathan yajan yajan dana pratigraha. A brahmana should be personally very highly learned scholar. Therefore brahmana is called pandita
- Brahmanas and Vaisnavas should be accepted as earthly representatives of Narayana
- Brahmanas or ksatriya, you can do your duty, but there should be a test whether you have become successful in discharging your duty. That test is hari-tosanam, whether you have satisfied the Supreme Personality of Godhead

- Brain should be utilized for some benevolent work for the good of the living entities
- Broadminded living beings are constantly engaged in the service of the Lord without deviation. That should be the aim of life. And that is the verdict of all the Vedic literatures
- By chanting the Vedic mantras properly in a sacrifice, one can perform many wonderful things. In Kali-yuga, however, there are no qualified brahmanas who can chant the mantras properly. Consequently no attempt should be made to perform such big sacrifices
- By executing religion one should be satisfied, but unless he comes to the point of Vasudeva, he'll never be satisfied
- By God's favor we sometimes get large quantities of food grains or suddenly receive some contribution or unexpected profit in business. In this way we may get more money than needed. So, how should that be spent

- Daily or alternately, "Myaaah, myaah." And there is religious process that the head should be eastern side and the throat should be cut up. And when the animal dies, bifurcate, cleanse it and the skin and everything
- Darker side also should be thought of. That is intelligence. Just like they are doing. After calculating the darker side - enemy means darker side: "They can defeat me at any moment," that is darker side
- Death, birth, old age and illness are symptoms of the diseased condition of the living being. The highest aim of human life should therefore be to get free from these miseries and go back home, back to Godhead
- Deity of Krsna should be seen. That is the benefit of the eyes. The ears should be engaged hearing about Krsna. The tongue should be engaged for eating Krsna's remnants of foodstuff, prasadam
- Deity worship or lecturing in the colleges is just as important as book distribution. So, these things must be done very nicely and at the same time, book distribution should be done
- Deity worship should be practiced by everyone. That cleanses the contaminated body. It is the custom that before entering one must be cleansed & bathe himself regularly. The whole idea is that we must very much sincere in our activities to serve Krishna
- Demigods are supposed to be fully fixed in devotional service, or Krsna consciousness; that is the auspicious path that should be protected
- Desire cannot be completely absent because I am living entity. So my desire should be not to forget Krsna. That's all, that one desire. That is real desire. All other desires, they are foolish. We cannot be desireless, but we should desire only bona fide
- Desire you cannot stop. That is not possible. So long you are, your desires are there. Desire should be purified. When I desire to gratify my senses, that is material. When I desire to satisfy Krsna, that is spiritual
- Develop these farm communities as far as possible. They should be developed as an ideal society depending on natural products not industry
- Devoid of Krsna consciousness, every living being suffers in this cycle of birth and death perpetually. To relieve them from this bondage and enable them to become blissful and happy, bhakti-yoga should be taught
- Devotees pray that if simply by offering something as an enemy Putana got so much benefit, then who can measure the benefit of worshiping Krsna in love and affection? Therefore only Krsna should be worshiped, for so much benefit awaits the worshiper
- Devotees take a transcendental interest in hearing of them (Krsna's activities). The pure devotee does not make the distinction that some activities of the Lord should be heard and others avoided

- Devotional activities should be transcendental to fruitive activities and empiric philosophical speculation. Pure devotional service is transcendental to all material qualities
- Devotional service is established on the principles of sruti, smrti, purana or pancaratra authorities, the make-show of devotional service should at once be rejected

- Devotional service to Krsna without deviation means engaging oneself in the nine processes of devotional service, chanting, hearing, worshiping, offering respect, etc. That process should be followed. BG 1972 purports
- Devotional service to the SG means engagement of all the senses in His service. In such service there are two important features: 2nd, the senses should be engaged only in the service of the SG, the master of the senses. That is pure devotional service
- Dharma is such a thing that you cannot disobey. You must obey because it is the codes given by God. If you are so much respectful to the laws of the state, how much respectful you should be to obey the laws given by God
- Dharma means your constitutional position and duty. That is called dharma. Just like the other day I explained. Just like chili should be pungent, sugar must be sweet, this is the idea. Water must be liquid. A stone must be solid. This is the dharma
- Dhyanavasthita-tad-gatena manasa: the mind should always be situated at the lotus feet of the Lord. Yoga practice does not mean sleeping. The mind should always be actively fixed at the lotus feet of God. Then one's practice of yoga will be successful
- Different classes of men are destined to live in different areas, and the boundaries of various tracts of land, which are described as islands, should be defined by different rivers, forests and hills
- Different parts of our senses should be utilized. The first business is to fix up the mind at the lotus feet of Krsna
- Disciple should be intelligent enough to inquire from the spiritual master how to become advanced. So to become advanced means sadhu marganu-gamanam, to follow the acaryas
- Disease should be cured, not to increase it. But at the present moment we are mad after increasing the disease. We are acting in such a way that we have to accept another body. That means material disease will continue
- Divine nature has been explained in various ways from the very beginning (of BG). Now Krsna is explaining about the demonic nature. The first characteristic of demonic nature is they do not know what should be proper and improper action
- Do not be agitated with the criticism of your friends because Caitanya Mahaprabhu said that one should be humbler that a blade of grass and should be more tolerant than a tree for chanting Hare Krishna Mantra
- Doing everything for God's sake should be the principles of life. The activities of the general public may not be stopped but may diverted in the manner stated in the Bhagavad-gita
- Don't be captivated by the material opulence, even you are put into great difficulties. Because you are not this material body. You are spirit soul. So your progress should be steady on the spiritual platform
- Don't be satisfied that you have understood. No. This should be distributed. In my old age I have come to your country carrying the order of my spiritual master to distribute it. You are all young boys and girls; take this message and distribute it
- Don't become immediately paramahamsa - no tilaka, no kanthi & no bead bag. This isn't good. Sanketya, so that others may understand, "Here is a Vaisnava. Here is a Krsna devotee." And if he is simple, he'll chant "Hare Krsna." This chance should be given
- Don't bother too much about financial matters, but your first concern should be book and magazine distribution
- Don't take it that I am criticizing you. Just I am analyzing the fact. So this should be utilized. This is called intelligence. This is called jnana. This is called free from bewilderment
- Don't take this so-called material civilization has got any value. Reject it. You see? And be prepared for going back to home, back to Godhead. That should be aim. Don't be allured by these rascal leaders
- Don't think that, "I am very learned scholar. I can manufacture my own way how to find out God," or "I am God," and so on, so on. This practice should be given up
- Don't waste your time. Simply always pour in, give aural reception to the message of Urukrama. Don't waste a single moment. This should be your life's policy
- Doubts may come about, but one should be firmly fixed up that there cannot be any doubt on the Spiritual Master or Krsna
- Durbhiksa means these brahmacaris, sannyasis, they should go to every householder's house and take some alms. When this is refused, that means we are calling durbhiksa, scarcity of food grain. It should be given
- During the Battle of Kuruksetra, he (Karna) foresaw the conclusive result, and he expressed his opinion that due to Lord Krsna's being the chariot driver of Arjuna, the battle should be won by Arjuna

- Each and every sloka should be very, very scrutinizingly understood. That should be the first business in the temples. We have got so many books. Simply if we make arrangement for selling, not for understanding, then it will be simply materialistic
- Each word is full of meaning. Cintamani, prakara, sadmasu, kalpa, vrksa. So Krsna should be offered by chosen words. Uttama-sloka, very nicely arranged
- Eat Krishna Prasadam, but be careful that we may not indulge in luxury. For Krishna we can offer the most beautiful preparations, but for us Prasadam should be very simple
- Eating and sleeping should be minimized - not a single moment should be misused
- Eating should be minimized. Too much eating leads to too much sleeping, and then sex desire. So, management should be done very carefully to see that there is not easy-going, lazy attitude which will only end in fall down
- Eating voraciously and unnecessarily is not the business of an Aryan. Rather, the eating process should be restricted as far as possible
- Economic development means to get more money and to satisfy senses more and more. This is the modern theory. But Krsna says that to achieve the perfection of life, one should be nirasih. Nirasih means unnecessarily desiring for sense gratification
- Education means everyone should be gentleman
- Education means one should be advanced in education to inquire about himself. That is brahma-jijnasa. Athato brahma jijnasa
- Education of Krsna consciousness should be given from the very childhood, kaumara. Kaumara means from the age of fifth year up to the tenth year. This is called kaumara age
- Education, austerity, penance or, in the modern world, business, industry, education and so on-all should be engaged in glorifying the Lord. Then everyone in the world will be happy
- Educational centers should be opened for teaching people how to become genuine brahmanas and ksatriyas. Guna-karma-vibhagasah: (BG 4.13) according to their qualities and work, people naturally belong to different social groupings
- Either the world is run on the principle of communistic philosophy or capitalistic philosophy, it will never be happy. Here is the formula, that everyone should be satisfied with the profit that he can easily make. That's all
- Ekadasi, Janmastami, Vamana-dvadasi, Rama-navami and Nrsimha-caturdasi - all these should be described
- Eko bahunam yo vidadhati kaman: Krsna is maintaining everything, and we are being maintained. Therefore Krsna is the real predominator, and we should be willing to be predominated. That is our natural constitutional position
- Emphasis should be given to the words of Bhagavat, they are spiritual and will have powerful effect if someone only hears them with attention, do not be very much enamoured by fancy costumes and stage-decorations, they will only distract

- Encouraging means your behavior should be so nice that he voluntarily gives. That is encouraging. Not that begging

- Equanimity of mind is the sign of self-realization. Those who have actually attained to such a stage should be considered to have conquered material conditions, specifically birth and death

- Especially for understanding God, or God consciousness, speculation is useless. So Lord Caitanya, I mean to say the Bhagavata, says that jnane prayasam udapasya, that that sort of endeavor, speculating, should be given up
- Especially in India, this ideal life of human society should be inaugurated. We should not imitate the Western people, who are now dwindling
- Especially in this present age, Kali-yuga, people are already poverty-stricken, and physical killing is too much for them. They should be killed by argument, reasoning, and scientific spiritual understanding
- Especially it is harer nama (CC Adi 17.21), it is not gupta. That is in the Kali-yuga it should be openly chanted, and we have to follow our predecessor, Haridasa Thakura, namacarya
- Even big, big political leaders. They will cover: "Kuruksetra means this, dharmaksetra means this." No. Hearing should be ... Our policy is hearing the original, as it is. Then it will be effective
- Even children, who has no politics, no enmity, they fight for five minutes; again they are friends. So the fighting spirit is there. Now, how you should be utilized?
- Even dramas about the pastimes of Lord Caitanya or Sri Krsna should be played by devotees. Such dramas will immediately interest an audience and be full of potency
- Even if an enemy comes to our home he should be treated with all respect, so much so that he forgets that he is an enemy. This is our philosophy

- Even if one is a grhastha and has to earn his livelihood, he should be satisfied by collecting only enough money to maintain body and soul together. One should not have more than that nor less than that
- Even if one is born in a family of dog-eaters, he can become My devotee and be very dear to Me, in spite of having taken birth in such a family. Therefore, offerings should be given to My devotee, and whatever My devotee has offered Me should be accepted
- Even if one is born in a non-brahmana family, if he has the brahminical qualifications he should be accepted as a brahmana, as confirmed by Srila Narada Muni and the great saint Sridhara Svami. This is also stated in Srimad-Bhagavatam
- Even if there is some misunderstanding between husband & wife that should be completely neglected & you should always remain rigid in service of Krishna
- Even in householder life, one should be satisfied to maintain body and soul together with whatever is available with minimum endeavor, according to place and time, by the grace of the Lord. One should not engage oneself in ugra-karma

- Even it is little offensive, still these rascals should be taught good lesson. Yes. They're misleading. Godlessness. As soon as you say "God created", immediately they become arrogant. That is our protest. If they accept God, then we give them all credit
- Even Lord Caitanya Himself, He married twice. So marriage is not prohibited, but everything should be under regulative principle according to the law. Then either one is sannyasi or a married man or a brahmacari, it doesn't matter
- Even one thinks that he knows everything, still, he, before the spiritual master, he should be blank slate that, "I do not know anything." That is the qualification of the disciple

- Every child should be trained up as brahmacari. Then, when he is completely trained up, if he still likes to get into married life or householder life, which is a concession for sex life . . . It is not required

- Every woman should be religious. Religious means to become chaste, faithful to the husband. And the husband should become a devotee. Then both of them will make progress in Krsna consciousness, and that is the perfection of life

- Everyone should be given the opportunity to take prasada, but this does not mean that everyone has the right to become Narayana
- Everyone should be induced to accept this order (surrendering to God), for this is victory (dig-vijaya). And it is the duty of the soldier, the devotee, to impress upon everyone this philosophy of life

- Females are not meant for the renounced order of life; they should be faithful to their good husbands, for if a husband is competent for liberation, his wife will also achieve liberation with him

- Generally we go to temple or perform religion with a motive, some material purpose. But bhakti should be without any motive, ahaituki, no cause. Apratihata, and it cannot be checked

- God is great, we are all subordinate, and we are maintained. Eko yo bahunam vidadhati kaman. This is the Vedic information. Nityo nityanam cetanas cetananam (Katha Upanisad). So this principle should be broadcast. People should know what is his position
- God is one; therefore dharma, or religious system, should be one. There cannot be two
- God is truth. If He has created anything, that is also truth. Why it should be false? That is Vaisnava view

- He (a neophyte devotee) can advance when by the grace of Krsna he understands, "Here is a Vaisnava. Here is an innocent man. He should be given some enlightenment." That is preacher - when he'll feel for others
- He (a person who knowingly violates the rules acts in lust) knows that this should be done, but still he does not do it; therefore he is called whimsical. Such persons are destined to be condemned by the Supreme Lord. BG 1972 purports
- He (a person) should distinguish between the nature of matter and the nature of spirit, and his real identification should be with spirit, not with matter. By this knowledge, one should avoid the false, bodily concept of life
- He (a transcendentalist) should be free from desires and feelings of possessiveness. - (Bg. 6.10) From this verse we can understand that it is the duty of the yogi to always remain alone
- He (a Vaisnava coming from a family of mlecchas or yavanas) should be given charity, for such a Vaisnava is as worshipable as the Supreme Personality of Godhead
- He (a vaisnava) may be appearing in different dress, but he is servant of Krsna. This vision should be enlightened. Then he will remain fixed up in devotional service, and certainly he shall remain successful of life in this very life
- He (an advanced devotee of God) should also be detached from all material attraction (viraktih), and he should not long for any material respect in return for his activities - mana-sunyata

- He (Caitanya Mahaprabhu) said, janmani janmani: "Life after life, I want to be engaged in Your devotional service." This is real characteristic, and that should be followed. So this is the essence of Vedic knowledge
- He (disciple) should be interested only in understanding the science of God, and he should be ready to consider all points in this matter. He should no longer think, “I am this body,” or, “This thing belongs to me”
- He (King Kamsa) was always in anxiety, wondering when Krsna would come to kill him. That kind of thinking will not help us. One should be thinking of Krsna in devotional love. That is bhakti. BG 1972 purports
- He (Krsna) also wanted to protect Maharaja Pariksit, who was lying in embryo. He did not like the idea that the world should be without the Pandavas, the ideal family of devotees

- How can the peaceful varnasrama-dharma be revived when people are so harassed in this age? It is virtually impossible. Therefore the system of bhakti-yoga, the chanting of the Hare Krsna maha-mantra, should be adopted
- How foolishly they are propagating a false theory, and amongst themselves self-complacent, getting prize, eulogization. What is this nonsense? Expose them. Bluffing. The bluffing should be exposed
- How the characteristics of the original source should be? The original source must be cognizant indirectly and directly of everything. The original Absolute Truth should be cognizant, abhijnah
- Hrih means that one should be very modest and must not perform some act which is abominable. BG 1972 purports

- Human being should not be encouraged to satisfy his unsatiated hunger like the giant elephant or the little ant but he should be trained up otherwise which shall provide for his real food
- Human beings should endeavor to get out of this gross and subtle body, attain the spiritual body and go back home. That should be the aim of human endeavor
- Human civilization should be based on the Vedic principles. This means that in the beginning of life boys and girls should undergo penances and austerities. When they are grown, they should get married, live for some time at home and beget children
- Human civilization should be so arranged that never mind, it is so mixed up, you have to gradually draw him again to the sattva-guna. That is human civilization. Not that drag him again to the tamo-guna

- If one is isvara, he must be present in everyone's heart. Krsna is present in everyone's heart (sarvasya caham hrdi sannivistah (BG 15.15)). All this should be scrutinizingly studied
- If one is not a devotee of Lord Krsna, however, even if born in a brahmana, ksatriya or vaisya family, he should be considered a sudra
- If one is president or king, it should be understood that this opportunity has been given to him by the Supreme Lord

- If somebody insults me, I don't be angry. "All right, he insulted. I tolerate." But when you speak against God, when you say: "I am God," I shall beat you with shoes, I shall be so much angry. You see? That should be attitude of the devotee

- If something is unfavorable, then we shall give it up immediately. That should be our motto of life
