- A good boy surrenders to his father means whatever he earns, the money, at the end of month he puts in the hand of the father: "Oh, this is my month's earnings"; similarly, we have to sacrifice the fruits of our labor to Krsna. This is the beginning of KC
- A living being, to become desireless, how you can? I am living. I am not a dead body. Desire should be to satisfy Krsna. Attachment should be for Him. That's all. You have to change. That is Krsna consciousness

- Because everyone is defective by the four defects of material life, we have to accept the version of Vedas, Puranas. Jiva Gosvami has tried to establish Puranas as Vedic supplementary. Others, they reject Puranas out of the Vedas
- Because in the sastras everything is there about Krsna. Simply we have to take it, accept it. And if we do not believe sastra, then there is no, I mean, use of understanding Krsna. Sastra-caksusa. You have to see
- Because my father was high-court judge, therefore I am high-court judge. Is that very good logic? You have to prove your superiority by your qualification and actual work
- Because unpalatable truth is not tolerated. If we call a black man black, he will be angry because it is unpalatable. So we have to present our case very carefully

- Bhakti is not under karma. Bhakti is under your good will. If you accept to surrender to Krsna, you can do that without being checked by anything else. Simply you have to will, "Yes, Krsna. You are asking me. So long I did not do. From this day I do"
- Bhakti-yoga means, as I have repeatedly explained, that you have to forget your identification with the matter, sarvopadhi-vinirmuktam
- By association, good association, everything is possible. Therefore you have to make this association of Krsna consciousness so perfect that anyone who comes in contact with that association, he becomes purified automatically

- Dhoti, I don't say. You have nice coat-pant. I don't say that you have to... I never said that. You have adopted it. (laughs) I never said that "You put on dhoti." But those who are sannyasis, brahmacaris, their dress is different
- Differences may be there, but still you have to cooperate together, otherwise where is the question of my being relieved of so many problems and decisions?
- Do you think you shall require all these books? Of course I have no objection if you keep these as reference books, but we should always remember that we have to give more stress on our spiritual side than the scholastic side
- Don't make your own manufactured, concocted plan. Therefore, to guide you, a Krsna's representative required. That is spiritual master. So there is a huge plan and huge scheme. Therefore we have to follow the footsteps of the mahajanas
- Don't try to manufacture some artificial process. The process I have already given. Now you simply have to follow it strictly and Krishna will give you all help
- Don't waste time for unnecessary questions and answers. But we have to do something sometimes. But that is not the way - unless one surrenders fully, pranipatena, and renders service

- Each and every living entity is an individual soul and as such disagreement is quite possible in our dealings with one another but we have to consider the central point of interest
- Even 10 year old boys are smoking, so much degraded. We are trying to convince people to become first class men rather than fifth class men. We have to fight
- Even a Vaisnava acarya, what he is doing, even the most expert intelligent man cannot understand why he is doing this. Therefore we should not try to imitate the higher authorities, but we have to follow

- Everyone has got the right to interpret in a different way, but we have to accept parampara, the disciplic succession. Just like I have given one burfi. Everyone knows it is burfi, and if somebody interprets, "It is stone," so it will not be accepted
- Everyone is dancing as maya is impelling. Now we have to dance as Krsna is impelling. That's all. The dancing will continue. Somebody is dancing in the ballroom and somebody is dancing in this temple
- Everything belongs to Krsna. He'll give you supply. You have to attempt only. So chant Hare Krsna and distribute prasadam, your movement will be success
- Everything is there. Now we have to introduce these things. Otherwise the human society is already fallen, and it will fall down more and more, and it will be hellish condition, and so only hope is this Krsna consciousness

- Expertness is you just try to do which is easily performed by you. You don't accept anything heavy task because Krsna does not want that you have to do this heavy task. Whatever you know, you just apply it. You dovetail it in Krsna consciousness

- First of all we have to hear about God from authorized persons. Then kirtanam. Kirtanam means glorifying the activities of God. Then there are other. These two items are very important, and there are other items also
- First of all, we have to live very regulated life. Sannyasa life is that regulated life. And then we can enter into the real life. That is idea
- First of all, you remain here (in New Mayapura) for some time. Be trained up. Because every one of us, we have followed the silly jackals. Now we have to follow Krsna
- First you have to agree to understand the process and follow it scrupulously. That is wanting
- For increasing this faith, you have to mix with these persons who are cultivating Krsna consciousness little intimate. Therefore better to live with us for some time. We give this chance, everyone - Come and live with us
- For lecturing, any one of our members can speak. Simply one has to memorize the purports and then speak in one's own language
- For raising crops from the land, how many men will be required--that we must estimate and for herding the cows and feeding them. We must have sufficient pasturing ground to feed the animals all round. We have to maintain the animals throughout their life
- For spiritual advancement of life, one has to know these basic knowledge, how we have to lead our life in order to make advancement in Krsna consciousness. We have therefore these restrictions
- Four divisions you have to treat in different ways. Prema, Lord, prema, love. Maitri, friendship with devotees. Krpa balisu, those who are innocent, the krpa. Let them learn. And upeksa. As soon as come to the dvisat, no cooperation. Keep aloof
- Free from all anxieties, chant Hare Krsna. Life is meant for simply chanting. This should be the motto. But because we have got this body, we have to maintain it
- From the date you received the money from Karandhar you have six months to repay. There is no question of personal desires

- Generally a man is healthy, but by infecting some disease he becomes diseased. So this material way of life is a kind of infection. So we have to cure that. And this is our process. And it has become successful
- Gotra is the family tradition. According to Vedic civilization, everybody has got gotra. Gotra means of the same family, of rsis, gotra, from the rsis. So we have to become acyuta-gotra, again belonging to the family of Krsna
- Grhastha or sannyasa it doesn't matter. First we have to know the science of Krishna consciousness
- Guru Maharaja be satisfied, "Oh, my disciples are praising me." That is good, respectful. That is the qualification. But you have to fight. Then your Guru Maharaja will be glorified
- Guru means expert. Heavy. Whose knowledge is heavier than your scanty knowledge. You have to learn knowledge
- Guru means the faithful servant of God. That is guru. So you have to first of all test that "Are you faithful servant of God?" If he says, "No, I am God," oh, kick him on his face immediately. That "You are rascal. You have come to cheat us"
- Guru must come through the parampara system, and in order to understand tad-vijnanam, transcendental science, you have to approach guru. You cannot say that "I can understand at home"

- He (Akhandananda Swami) is a Mayavadi sannyasi. So Acyutananda Swami went to sell some books in their camp. So his disciple requested him, "Why don't you ask some question from Swamiji?" So he said, - What I have to ask from him?
- How can you write or how you can speak unless you think of Him? You are hearing about Krsna; you have to think, then you can speak. Otherwise not
- "Human being must use discretion, that 'If I can live in this way, why shall I kill one important animal?' That is human intelligence." In this way you have to preach
- Human being, our business is to teach and become ideal ourself. Apani acari prabhu jivere sikhaya (Lord Caitanya). We have to teach by our personal behavior

- I am giving them the right information - that service you have to render. But instead of serving your senses, please serve Radha-Krsna, then you'll be happy

- If you have got some time, the best thing would be to chant Hare Krishna more and more. Because our life is very short, and we have to finish our Krishna Consciousness this life very quickly
- If you keep your heart in that attitude, that you want to become a pure and sincere devotee, you must be a sincere devotee. And Krishna will help you. You have to keep your heart in that way, that is your business
- If you relieve me of the burden of management, that will be a very great service to Krsna and the movement. See that everything is going on nicely. With great endeavor we have made the framework, now we have to see that things are going on nicely
- If you sit down and write some article on Krsna, that means you have to concentrate on Krsna's activities or Krsna's devotees' activities, and that very process will purify your heart
- If you want divine life, if you want spiritual elevation back to Godhead, back to home, that means eternal life, blissful life full of knowledge, then we have to train ourselves in divine consciousness or Krsna consciousness
- If you want to get out of the maya's activities, prakrteh kriyamanani gunaih karmani, then you have to take to Krsna consciousness. There is no way out
- If you want to introduce they will accuse you, so many, like madmen. And still we have to do. That is preaching. You cannot expect very smooth life in preaching
- If you want to know how God is great then you have to take reference of this Vedic literature. No other literature
- If you want to know what is God, what is Krsna, then you have to go through this bhakti-marga, or devotional... There is no other way. Krsna never says that He can be known through speculation or cultivation of so-called speculative knowledge
- If you wish to live separately you have to earn your livelihood by business, by taking some employment to maintain your home and family. But not by chanting in the street; this is not a good idea for householders

- Just like I show you sometimes how to mop. So I am not a mopper, but I am showing how to mop. So our position is like that. We do not belong to any varna and asrama. But we have to show these rascals
- Just like Lord Nityananda, He was injured, but still He delivered Jagai-Madhai. That should be your principle. Sometimes we have to cheat, sometimes we have to be injured - so many things. The only device is how people can become Krsna conscious
- Just like the cloud is always there in the sky, but if you be above the cloud, then it is all right. So you have to become above the material principles
- Just like the jet plane takes the friendly sky. So we have to take the friendly energy, the spiritual energy. Mahatma, those who are mahatma, great souls, they take shelter of the nature where there is no more cloud
- Just like without being red hot, you cannot burn any other thing. Similarly, without being fully spiritualized, you cannot make others spiritualized. Therefore we have to follow the parampara system
- Just try to help them by giving them KC & the best way to do this is to set the example by being very enthusiastic to do anything and everything to please Krishna, even we may have to make sacrifice

- Keep yourself always healthy because you have to work so much for Krishna, and whenever you feel some difficulty, you may immediately inform me
- Kirtana does not mean always that we have to chant loudly with drums and kartalas or musical instruments. Kirtana, this kind of talking about the Supreme Personality of Godhead, this kind of talking about our self-realization, that is also kirtana
- Kirtana does not mean always that we have to chant or sing with musical instrument. I am speaking to you Srimad-Bhagavatam, this is also kirtanam
- Krishna Conscious devotees are expected to be very intelligent, so we have to work very intelligently to prove our advancement in Krishna Consciousness
- Krishna has mentioned only three names in this parampara system - namely, Vivasvan, Manu, and Iksvaku; and so these gaps do not hamper from understanding the parampara system. We have to pick up the prominent acaryas, and follow from him
- Krishna is very merciful to His sincere devotees, but also we have to remember that Maya is very strong. Therefore, we have to always be engaged in serving Krishna
- Krsna consciousness does not mean sitting idly. The whole pastimes of Krsna is full of activities. When you go to spiritual world Krsna is always dancing. You have to 24 hours dance there and eat there.There is no question of sit down
- Krsna consciousness movement means that we have to train our senses to satisfy Krsna. That's all
- Krsna consciousness movement means we have to give up this nonsense idea of becoming master
- Krsna consciousness movement means you have to keep yourself always connected with the original powerhouse
- Krsna does not say that you have to become like this, like that, like that, then you can serve Him. Does not say
- Krsna-prema is so valuable, but Krsna is after Radharani. Just see how Radharani is great. Just try to understand the greatness of Radharani. Therefore She is so great, and we have to offer our respect

- Management, that is in your hands. Who will give you management? You have to manage local - local men
- Many people are saying that "Swamiji, we have to give food to the poor, starving." That's all right. You give, if you think. But according to our philosophy, nobody is starving. You show me one instance that one man is dying here out of starvation
- Marriage means that one's service becomes doubled, but at the same time we have to be very careful not to fall into sense gratification
- Material life means hatred for Krishna and desire for matter. So we have to convert ourselves. When one becomes Krishna conscious actually, he does not even hate material things because he becomes expert how to utilize everything for Krishna
- Matter does not work. The Supreme Personality of Godhead, by His different energies, He is working. That is Krsna. You have to understand like that. Krsna is in the background
- Maya is undoubtedly very strong, and we have to be very vigilant like soldiers in a fortress. We should not let maya enter into our activities
- Maya is very strong, and we are liable to fall down at any moment. We have to gather our strength by chanting the beads sixteen rounds regularly and praying to the lotus feet of Krsna for guidance
- Maya's most attractive feature is women and money. We Krishna Conscious men have to deal with women and money in course of preaching work, and the only prophylactic measure to save us is not to accept them for our sense gratification
- Modern civilization is how to develop the facility of sense gratification. This is modern civilization. For spiritual life this should be, rather, whatever facilities we have got, we have to curtail, not to increase. That is Krsna consciousness
- Mukunda has already protested such rascal and we have to go on with our own work positively. Fault-finding men will always be there, that is the history of the world, but one has to execute his prescribed duties
- My idea is that all our centers should be self-supported. We do not like that idea that for your support you have to go 100 miles to get your bread. That is a very dangerous drawback. You produce your food locally and then support yourself
- My only point is that simultaneously we must increase our literature production and build Mayapur Temple, But it is not that we have to stop everything else for one thing
- My presence or no presence, we have got now a position. We have to push on this movement very cautiously
- My students have been sent to India specifically to study in the Bengali, Sanskrit, and Hindi languages, because we have to present to the world so many English translated authentic literatures on Vaishnavism

- No addition, alteration. You have to approach guru - guru means the faithful servant of God, Krsna - and take his word how to serve Him. Then you are successful
- No, we are not to satisfy the authorities. We have to satisfy Krsna. Just like Arjuna. He wanted to satisfy his family members, but Krsna did not like that
- Not personal satisfaction, Krsna's satisfaction. That is Krsna consciousness. Whatever you do, it doesn't matter. You have to test it, whether you are doing it for Krsna. That is your perfection
- Not that we all have to become preachers, but that we all dedicate our lives or our consciousness, no matter in what capacity, to Lord Krishna
- Now people has to know it (the best thing we are presenting). How to make it known? We have to go to the newspaper man, magazine man, to the Foundations. So one responsible . . . one? Why one? Two, three men must move amongst them
- Now the Western people have to take the leadership of spreading Vedic culture all over the world. I have given the initiation, but the rest of the work will depend on you young men and women of America
- Now we have the GBC, the sannyasins, the presidents and so many qualified devotees. We have to give up the habit of placing everything on Prabhupada's shoulders. We must be responsible, mature, steadfast and convinced
- Now we have to forget the past incidences and shall have to go forward with clear consciousness
- Now you are grhastha, and there is no need to be despondent, simply we have to become sincere to act fully in Krishna Consciousness
- Now you have to lecture. I will have to retire. (chuckles) I want that all my students now should be prepared

- Of course we have to have independent private university because the government is not interested according to Vedic ideology
- Of course, as preachers we have to expect to face so many opposing elements, and actually we are doing so. Moreover, we are always protected by Krsna. But this crazy threat for our destruction should not go unchecked; please do the needful
- Oh, he's not a good man - therefore we have to hate - No. That is not our business. No. But this is the conclusion. And because the world is full of no good men, therefore we have to preach
- On one side we have to be very sorry if our dear friends are taken away from this world, and on the other side we should be satisfied that a pure devotee is never lost

- One has to control this lust and anger. This controlling means you have to put yourself in the modes of goodness, not in the modes of passion
- One who is not God-conscious, one who does not know that he is not body, he is animal. That's all. Maybe in different dress… So you have to set up real human society in a small scale so people will see, "Yes." Because man has got intelligence
- Our aim is amrtatva, how to become immortal. That is our aim of life. So we have to achieve that goal of life. We should not be disturbed with this temporary distress and pleasure
- Our business is very thankless task. We say any man who is not a devotee, he is rascal. We say generally. It is very harsh word, but we have to use it. As soon as we see that he is not a devotee of Krsna, then he's a rascal
- Our first principle is that we have to disregard the persons who are very much anxious to establish that isvara and Paramesvara, or the living entity and the Supreme Person, they are equal
- Our mind is very restless, so mind tries to go. Suppose I am speaking and you are hearing, and mind is somewhere. This is . . . ordinarily there is such difficulty, but we have to bring back the mind again
- Our Movement is a declaration of war against Maya, that you can understand very well, so we have to recruit many fighting soldiers - so do it vigorously
- Our only hope is books and literature. So we have to start press, and for that purpose, and publish varieties of books and literature for getting some financial help as well as propagating our mission
- Our policy is not to ask anything from Krsna. He knows what is good for me; simply I have to surrender unto Him
- Our preaching means that people are useless, that we have to train them in such a way that they may take to Krsna consciousness
- Our principle is that we are kind, merciful, to everyone. But we have to eat, so we eat Krsna prasadam. Because after all, Krsna is the SG. So if He eats something, the responsibility is His. But we are not advocate of vegetarianism or nonvegetarianism
- Our process is to take from the acaryas. We are not manufacturing. We are not so fools and rascals that we have to manufacture. We have to take the remnants of foodstuff given by the acarya and explain in the modern way
- Our process is very easy. We have to see whether my Guru Maharaja, his Guru Maharaja has followed this. Then there will be no more doubt
- Our program for Krishna Consciousness is solid, and backed by most authoratative literature--Bhagavad Gita, and Srimad Bhagwatam; there is no question of our not being popular to the world. Simply we have to present ourselves in true perspective

- Pasyati. He (Krsna) can see everywhere. Therefore we have to discuss sastra. In the Brahma-samhita it is said, the anga, the different parts of the body of Krsna, has got all the qualities of other anga
- Physically & mentally we may be disturbed, but we have to stand erect on the spiritual platform. I cannot sleep soundly at night, but still I am working because I try to be in my position of spiritual platform. I hope you shall try to understand me right
- Physically and mentally we may be disturbed sometimes, but we have to stand erect on the spiritual platform. I may inform you in the connection that I am at the present moment physically unfit
- Please therefore try to be sympathetic with any person even if they differ. The only qualification we have to scrutinize is if one is acting in Krishna Consciousness as far as one is able to do it
- Prahlada Maharaja underwent so much persecution. He was never disturbed, because he was confident that "Krsna will give me protection. Never mind." That is another position. Maha-bhagavata. We are kanistha-adhikaris. We have to worship Deity
- Prahlada Maharaja's example was that in spite of continuous torturing by his father, he never forgot Krsna. This we have to follow. In spite of all kinds of inconveniences and torture by the atheist class of men, we shall never forget Krsna consciousness
- Pranipat means prakrsta-rupena nipat. You have to become blank slate: "Now, sir, whatever I have learned, oh, I forget. It is now blank slate. Now you write whatever you like." This is the first condition

- Radha-Krsna worship is little difficult. We have to worship Him with great awe and veneration. But Caitanya Mahaprabhu has voluntarily come to deliver the fallen souls. Little service, He will be satisfied
- Ramananda Raya is the most confidential devotee of Caitanya Mahaprabhu, although he's a grhastha, because he is akincana, as akincana as Rupa Gosvami. So we have to become akincana
- Real human business is Caitanya Mahaprabhu's para-upakara. In ignorance they are doing all nonsense. Stop them. Give them knowledge. This Krsna conscious movement is real civilization. That we have to prove
- Regarding against propoganda, it is going on practically everywhere, especially Bengal. So we have to work very sincerely and Krishna will give us protection
- Regarding competition with other so-called yoga groups, certainly we have to win the race because we represent Krishna directly, and others are all mostly impersonalists or less than that
- Regarding some misbehavior, that we have to check by training peacefully
- Regarding the devotee taking a second wife, it is all right from Vedic culture, but is not right from American law view point. That you have to adjust
- Regarding the management of the Ottawa and Regina centers try to train them. We have to train sometimes. Whenever there is something extraordinarily wrong, you can remain there for sometime
- Regarding your illness - so long we have got this material body, the miseries will be coming and going, simply we have to tolerate them and try to make advancement in Krishna Consciousness as best we can
- Relationship between Godbrothers must be very genuine and pleasing, otherwise the future of our institution will not be very hopeful. After all, very soon you have to manage
- Ruci means taste. Why you are hearing about Krsna daily, the same thing? We are speaking nothing new. "Krsna is the Supreme Personality of Godhead, and you have to surrender." This is our daily business

- Sastra gives full explanation, full knowledge. Sastra caksusa. We have to accept through the sastra. Not that, "Because I have not seen, therefore it is false." No. Vyasadeva has no business to tell you something false
- Service must be there. So you have to find out some service that you can render. Then your progress will be very quick
- Service you have to render. Either Radha-Krsna or maya, illusion, senses. Everybody is serving to the senses. Is it not? But he's not satisfied. He cannot be satisfied
- Sex indulgence is not good; it is grossly material and we have to surpass it. But when one has staunch faith in Krsna, he'll be able to transcend the urge
- Simply squeezing, squeezing. Moghasa mogha-karmanah. That is not the process to find out real pleasure. If you have to find out real pleasure, then you have to take to this Krsna consciousness
- Simply theoretical knowledge. That is helpful, but training, that is the greatest need, that we have to create a set of first-class men. Then the world will be all right. That is an attempt of the Krsna consciousness movement, to make first class, ideal
- Simply theorizing, making plan, and they do not know what is the suffering. Such a rascal civilization. So we have to introduce real civilization. Therefore we are struggling so hard
- Simply we have to desire to please Him (Krsna), and not desire anything for ourselves. Then we become simply instruments for His will. This is the important essence of Krsna consciousness
- Simply we have to present ourselves in true perspective. We can challenge any rascals of the world but the difficulty is that it is folly to be wise where ignorance is bliss
- Simply we have to work and people will give contribution for this good cause. It is better to get money by collections than to work
- Simply you have to become sincere. That's all. Everything is there. But if we become cheaters, we do, say something before Krsna, before the spiritual master, before fire, and do something else, then there is no question of dictation from Krsna
- So far as binding is concerned, if we have to make the binding work outside, then we will have to pay more charges, so you can take quotation what will be the cost of binding 10,000 books exactly on the same pattern as TLC
- So far as our Krishna Consciousness is concerned, we can supply millions of pictures of Krishna, Visnu & Their multi-incarnations, as well as Their transcendental Pastimes. We have to create a unique position for this paper, at least in the western world
- So far the framework is done. I have done with your help. Now we have to push this movement. It is very important movement. It is not a farce. It is actually for the benefit of the human society
- So far we are concerned we are trying to train first class men. How much great responsibility we have to follow regulative principles, chant the beads, live with personal character etc
- So far your going to Buffalo, Brahmananda will see to it, and if it is already changed I have no objection. We have to serve Krishna from any circumstance or position. That shall be our mode of life
- So gradually we have to organize the students to our movement, and your work so far has my approval in this connection
- So in our conditioned stage there will be so many doubts, so many implication. But the same thing as I gave you example, that don't be very much hasty to receive the result immediately. Simply we have to follow
- So many rascals are there. And this is the only shelter, these our centers, to be protected from all these rascals. These ISKCON centers are the only shelter. So you have to maintain it very nicely. There is no other shelter. All bogus, more or less
- So remain fixed up in the service, at the same time try to train others because we shall have to open so many centers. Unless we have got very trained up pujaris it will be difficult for us to install Deities
- So we have to grow children to become the head of the human society and there is great need for this. I pray Krishna that you may give a starting to such an asrama in full Krishna Consciousness
- So we have to prove to the world that it is not brainwashing. It is real knowledge. Why you should keep it suppressed and leave the people in ignorance
- So what I can do? Brahmananda Maharaja informs me that Jayatirtha told him on the telephone that the money was sent. So you have to check with the bank why it is not yet received. But why the work should be stopped?
- So you have to say that - You are the greatest intelligent man, sadhu, most honored
- Sometimes preachers in the Krsna consciousness movement have to accept food in a home where the householder is an avaisnava; however, if this food is offered to the Deity, it can be taken
- Sometimes we have to do so much managerial or office work, but Lord Caitanya promises us that because in the Kali yuga this is required for carrying on our preaching mission. He gives assurance that we will not become entangled by such work
- Sri Advaita Acarya treated Haridasa Thakura as a most elevated Vaisnava, but others, like Ramacandra Khan, were envious of Haridasa Thakura. Of course, we have to follow in the footsteps of Advaita Acarya, not caring for people like Ramacandra Khan

- Temple we have to construct. But for that construction, temple, they will pay. But for residential and other buildings and maintenance we have to arrange. That's not a bad proposal. It is very nice proposal. They are giving us land, giving us a temple
- Temple worship means there will be regulative principles, that you will have to rise early in the morning, you have to attend class, kirtana
- That is our duty. We have to disturb these envious persons, "Hare Krsna!" That is our duty, to disturb them. And that is the greatest service
- That is our main program, this traveling and preaching just as I am doing. Now you have to keep the institution in living condition in the near future
- That is spiritual life. One has to take order from the spiritual master and execute it, despite all impediments. That is determination
- That is the position. The only means is that in spite of all opposition you have to chant Hare Krsna. That will cleanse. Otherwise there is no other way
- That one person, God, He's supplying everyone, whatever necessities. You have to simply work little. That is material world. In the material world you have to work. And in the spiritual world there is no question of work
- That system of religion which teaches development of God Consciousness is first class. We have to estimate by the result, and not by the formalities. So this movement, KC, very quickly develops this God Consciousness, and it is very easy to adopt it
- The austerity in our Gaudiya-sampradaya is very simple: following the four principles, restriction, avoiding the offenses, and chanting regular beads. That's all. And hearing. Chanting and hearing, both things. Not only chanting; we have to hear SB
- The books are there, your intelligence is there, the guidance is there. Because you are preaching, sometimes we have to meet opposing elements. So if you cannot answer properly, that will be disqualification
- The brahma-bhutah stage, situation, is that "I am not matter; I am spirit." That's all right. But we have to sustain the spirit. How we can sustain? We can sustain when there is spiritual engagement. Otherwise, it is not possible
- The difference is you don't believe. I believe. That's all. I take it immediately: "Yes, Krsna is operating." Therefore I have no problem. Somebody's operating, that you have to accept
- The fact is that we have to adopt the same tactics as ordinary salesmen adopt, but the difference is we do it for the satisfaction of Krsna, they do it for sense gratification
- The gopis, even up to the point of becoming prostitute - for Krsna. So for Krsna's sake we have to accept any nonsense type of business. Or on the highest grade. Anything. But for Krsna we have to do that
- The highest stage of spiritual consciousness is Krsna consciousness. KC means, "I am Krsna's," that's all. Krsna says, "All these living entities, they are My part and parcel." So you have to understand this relationship with Krsna, that you are Krsna's
- The idea is like that of a Bible society in India which distributes millions of dollars in the shape of biblical literature without any consideration of return. Similarly, we have to sacrifice each $750 on this principle
- The Krsna consciousness movement, the technique, is that you may be engaged in various types of work, but the mind must be always fixed up in Krsna. That art you have to learn. How it is possible? It is possible

- The present house being situated in a very important place, we have to think that by vacating this house we shall be losing a grand situation
- The rascal Darwin's theory. So many, based on this foolish theory, wrong conception of life. So we have to challenge, protest. defeat. This will be our work
- The rascal means the Mayavadi, karmi, jnani, yogi, all they are rascals. It is our open declaration. So we have to give up the company of these rascals
- The real business is that we have to withdraw our attraction for this material... That they do not know. I am a spirit soul
- The success of your preaching will be substantiated by how many books are sold. Anything you want to sell, you have to a little canvass, so he gives some money for the service of Krsna. That is his good luck

- The world is full of danger and still we have to push on our Krsna Consciousness Movement. So always remain fixed up chanting the maha-mantra and following the regulative principles, because Maya is very strong
- The world is full of these classes of men, and you have to educate them. Your responsibility is very great. You have to make an ass a devotee, a camel a devotee, a dog a devotee, a hog a devotee. This is your mission
- There are many branches also from the parampara system, and it is not possible to record all the branches and sub-branches in the disciplic succession. We have to pick up from the authority of the acharya in whatever sampradaya we belong to
- There are nine different processes of bhakti-yoga. Any one of them you adopt, you become perfect, not that you have to adopt nine. If you can, it is very nice
- There are so many activities in relationship with Krsna. We have to adopt everything. Then such persons, sa eva pasyanty, ta eva pasyanty. "By this process one day will come that he will see Krsna"
- There are so many things to understand from Srimad-Bhagavatam, full knowledge, all knowledge, as it is required by the human society. So we have to study from all angles of vision, not simply by sentiment. This is Srimad-Bhagavatam
- There is a blazing fire of maya, and we have to inform the people, even if we must use broken language. That is no fault. But by Krishna's Grace this problem will soon be solved
- There is a vast amount of editing work. It is not an easy job. We have to print so many books and if he becomes an expert editor it will be a great asset to our mission, and he has got the capacity
- There is no new formula. The same Vyasa-puja, the same philosophy. Simply we have to accept it. Then our life will be successful

- These examples are given in the sastra. They are not exaggeration but actual fact. And we have to take it in good faith
- These people might be impersonalists, so far I can understand from the handbill, but still, we can perform Kirtana in any place. It does not matter what they are. By our Kirtana process we have to influence others
- These rascals may go on talking so many things, but we haven't got to take care of all of them. We have to do our own business. Let the dog bark on, the caravan will pass. So not that we have to take care of the barking of the dog always
- These rascals will be angry, will sometimes do harm to you, and still, you have to do it. That is preaching. Are you understanding what is preaching? Yes. You have to prepare like that. At all risk you have to preach
- These things have to be adjusted. You cannot follow very rigid in case of grhasthas. Some way or other, you have to adjust. We cannot allow them to be lost
- They (our women in Krsna consciousness) never say that "I have to go to Japan for preaching like Prabhupada." They never say. This is artificial
- They (professional reciters) have in this way (by creating the impression that SB deals only with Krsna's rasa-lila) presented Krsna to the Western world as a great woman-hunter, & therefore we sometimes have to deal with such misconceptions in preaching
- They are expanding animalism, animal civilization. Now we have to counteract for the benefit of the human civilization
- Things may not be arbitrary, whimsical, therefore we have to take reference from Bhagavad-gita. Lawbook. When a judge gives his judgement, he does not give it arbitrarily. There is lawbooks
- This (dirt) is due to our material contamination. Therefore we have to revive it. That sharpness, we have to revive. That is Krsna consciousness movement
- This godless civilization is so acute that it is very difficult to make them understand God consciousness, or Krsna consciousness. But still, as a matter of duty, we have to present, submit, these teachings of Bhagavad-gita and Srimad-Bhagavatam
- This is Krsna consciousness. You must voluntarily agree - not hackneyed, mechanical: "Spiritual master says like this. All right, let me do it." No. You have to understand very nicely. Tesam satata-yuktanam bhajatam priti-purvakam. Priti, with love
- This is our mission. We have to simply speak about Krsna all over the world. Yare dekha tare kaha 'krsna'-katha, 'krsna'-upadesa
- This is our real miserable condition of life. We have to die, we have to take birth again, and again we have to become old, and there will be disease. Between birth and death
- This life is meant for restraining. Restraining. Tapa. We have to restrain our business of sense gratification. Without restraining our business of sense gratification, it is not possible to make ourselves liberated

- Those who are attending this meeting, they have got a little faith: "All right, let us go to this meeting. They are talking about something about God. Let us hear." This is called faith, little faith. So you have to increase this faith. That is required
- Those who are opposing Krsna consciousness movement, we have to fight with them to our best capacity. Never mind if we are defeated. That is also service. Krsna sees the service. Defeated or victorious, depend on Krsna. But fighting must be there
- Those who have taken to Krsna consciousness preaching work, they should always know that things are not going to happen so easily. Maya is very, very strong. But still, we have to struggle against maya. It is a declaration of war with the maya
- To become above the material principles means to accept everything in Krsna consciousness, dovetailed with Krsna. That will save you. You have to become above the cloud
- To become Krsna conscious means we have to give up all these so-called or cheating type of religious system
- To make progress in devotional service, one cannot manufacture anything. The authoritative statements of acaryas, that we'll have to follow
- To preach Bhagavat religion sometimes we have to quote from the sastras what is not palatable to unscrupulous so called religious persons. But in preaching we cannot do without quoting the proper verses
- To surrender to Krishna is not difficult all we have to do is follow the instructions given by Krishna in Bhagavad-gita under the guidance of his representative, the spiritual master
- Try to spread this Krsna consciousness movement. And this is your sadhana, execution of austerity, penance. Because you have to meet so many opposing elements. You have to fight with them. That is tapasya
- Try to understand the philosophy very nicely, because you are going to preach. So many opposing elements will come. So you have to defend yourself

- Unless one is very strong in body, old age means suffering. So whatever Krsna-Balarama desire. Now it is up to you to maintain the Society very nicely. There is framework. There is idea. There is facility of everything
- Unless you become pessimistic, you will not be able to go back to home. If you have little attraction for this world - "It is good" - then you have to remain here. Yes. Krsna is so strict
- Unnecessarily we do not want to criticize anyone. But when there is necessity, because we are preacher, it may be sometimes you'll be faced with opposite elements, so we have to criticize in that respect

- We are enemies to their standard of civilization. That is the problem. We are enemies, certainly. We frankly say, "This civilization is soul-killing." We have to save them, para upakara
- We are in Krsna consciousness. That does not mean we shall not use this electricity, we shall not take an apartment or we shall not sleep. Something unnatural we have to do. Why? Everyone abides by the law. We have to abide by the law
- We are not advocate of vegetarianism or nonvegetarianism. That is not our business. We are Krsna-ites. What Krsna said, we have to do
- We are not meant for learning something new for the service of the Lord; but we have to engage whatever talents we have already got
- We are spreading the Krsna consciousness movement for understanding this simple philosophy, that we are not this body. We have to rectify or purify this knowledge that I am this body. That is Krsna consciousness movement. It is very simple
- We believe in Krsna consciousness. We have to purify. Just like this is also a belief, that you will be happy by drinking alcohol. That is your consciousness. I don't believe in that
- We can change our home into Vaikuntha. It is not difficult. Because as Krsna can be all-pervading, Vaikuntha is all-pervading. But we have to simply realize it by the authorized process. Everyone, we can change our home into Vaikuntha
- We can preach anywhere. We have to preach both in heaven and hell
- We can send you unlimited number of books. You simply have to apply your brain how to sell them. Then you will have plenty of money
- We can understand how we have to be very cautious in executing our spiritual duties by observing the rules and regulations and regularly chanting the Hare Krsna maha-mantra. If we neglect doing this, we will eventually fall down
- We collect from ordinary men, but we have to make him sadhu. That is preaching
- We do not make cheap disciples. Our condition is first of all you must give up these things: illicit sex and meat-eating and intoxication, up to the drinking of tea and cigarette. You have to give up. And gambling
- We do not wish to be estranged from the material world. That is another nonsense. We have to deal with persons in the society & perhaps we are the only community in the world which can render the best possible service to the society
- We have got a very heavy task before us. Together we have to push on this Krishna Consciousness movement for a revolutionary change all over the world

- We have to become a yes man to the Supreme Lord. That's all. That is the perfection of our spiritual life. Now we are all "no men." God says this, I say "no." Stubborn. Now simply we have to say "yes". That's all
- We have to become conservative, follow the rules. Not that we give liberty, that "Whatever you like, you do, and at the same time you make progress, spiritual life." That is not possible
- We have to become designationless. Not that, "Here are some foreigners. Pick up some quarrel with them and try to drive them away. Why they have come?" So many nonsense things are going on for want of actual spiritual education. This is not good
- We have to become dhira from adhira. But this Krsna consciousness movement is so nice that adhira can be dhira. This is the profit of this movement
- We have to become qualified to talk with the Supreme Person, and He will give us advice
- We have to become swans, raja-hamsa , paramahamsa , paramahamsa . Paramo nirmatsaranam. Then you can understand Krsna consciousness. If you remain crows, then you cannot, that is not possible

- We have to prove to the world that anyone who is not Krsna conscious is a duskrtina and mudha. It is very good news that the book will be taken by many colleges and high schools as a textbook

- Who is cooking for himself very palatable dishes, he is bhunjate te tv agham papa: he is simply eating sins, and he has to suffer. Therefore we have to eat, we have to work, we have to do everything only for yajnaya, not for any other purpose
- Why enviousness? You are human being, I am human being. Why we should be envious of one another. This is artificial. There is no need of. But we are put into certain condition that we have to become envious by nature or someone
- With great difficulty we get a man. We have to reform them. Our business is to become sympathetic to fallen souls. So in future do not do it all. Everything should be done amicably
- Within this dangerous condition of the human society we have to push on Krsna consciousness. How difficult it is, just imagine
- Without being fully spiritualized, you cannot make others spiritualized. Therefore we have to follow the parampara system. The disciplic succession, as we get the knowledge, as we get the power, as we get the instruction, so we have to follow
- World Sankirtan Party does not mean that we have to cover immediately the whole world. The program is that everywhere the Samkirtan Movement should be introduced

- Yes, we must set up our society as a school as best we can - I have already sent you letter. Please formulate the whole curriculum because we have to immediately submit to the Draft department & if this is accepted that will be great gain for our society
- You (sannyasis) have to teach only these things (patram puspam phalam toyam). Where is the difficulty? You do it personally and teach them. Then you become guru. It doesn't require to learn big, big, I mean to say, grantha like Vedanta
- You are an intelligent boy so you can take it from me that this Haridasapur scheme is for making a link with Bangladesh, so we have to deal from that point of view
- You are not forbidden to do this thing or that thing, but you have to see only whether by your action the Supreme Lord is satisfied. That's all. That much knowledge you must have. Then your life will be successful
- You are seeing Krsna. The Deity of Krsna and Krsna is not different. But even personally we can see. Simply we have to continue the enthusiasm. Enthusiasm means to take things very seriously, utsahad dhairyat, and patiently
- You are taking the beads, sixteen rounds. You can be finished, utmost two hours or three hours. So you have got twenty-four hours. If you want to sleep, of course, twenty-three hours, that is another thing. You have to minimize your sleeping

- You can eulogize your Guru Maharaja, but you have to learn it and face the public and be strong to defend yourself. That is success. Not by praising your Guru Maharaja

- You cannot make any progress by this sort of karmi's life. We have to work for organization, but not that whole day and night engaged and no sat-sanga. That is a misguided policy, and it will spoil the whole structure
- You cannot say that "Now I have dedicated my life to Krsna." No. That's all right, but you have to keep the standard of surrender by nisevaya, by serving
- You cannot see God by your endeavor because your senses are all nonsense. You have to purify your senses and you have to wait for the time when God will be pleased to reveal Himself before you
- You cannot stop them. But some of them, those who are intelligent, they will see, "Yes, here is life." As they are coming to nakedness, they will come to this, our mode of life. So you have to become an ideal society
- You don't be so courageous that you know everything. You have to know from the sastra
- You have created this animal civilization. Now they are coming out as naked animals. This is the result. Now you have to reform them. That reformation is Krsna consciousness. So you have to make an example, what is actually human life
- You have kindly asked me what you have to do. That I shall tell you later on, when you are fixed up in our line of thought
- You have only to speak what Krsna has said. Then you become a preacher
- You have requested me if you can again return to your wife. How is that? It will be a very bad example. It is not possible at all. Then you have to give up your sannyasi dress. So give up these thoughts
- You have to associate with kirtana. The reading is also kirtana, and chanting on the beads, that is also kirtana. There is no difference. So make your life in such a way
- You have to associate yourself with persons who are in that business. Then gradually you'll also develop the taste ... So there is no cause of disappointment that because you have no taste for such things

- You have to follow great personalities. Therefore we are trying to follow Lord Krsna or Lord Caitanya. That is perfection. You have to take evidences from the Vedas. You have to follow the instruction. The success is sure
- You have to follow the instruction of Krsna or His representative, but you cannot imitate them. Then you'll fall down
- You have to follow the rules and regulations. That will give you progress. Don't try to imitate. Just be in your position, try to follow the rules and regulations, and chant Hare Krsna, and gradually you'll get result. There is no need of being hasty
- You have to get out from this entanglement by this yoga, or perfect yoga of Krsna consciousness
