- Caitanya Mahaprabhu is described in the sastras as an incarnation of Krsna; therefore if one wants to imitate Lord Caitanya and claim to be an incarnation, he must show evidence from the sastras about his appearance to substantiate his claim
- Canakya Pandita has also advised that if one has a wife like a sly fox, he must immediately give up his life at home and go to the forest

- Every conditioned soul is full of the reactions of his past life, but all dirty things are immediately burned to ashes if one simply executes devotional service
- Everyone begins his devotional life from the neophyte stage, but if one properly finishes chanting the prescribed number of rounds of hari-nama, he is elevated step by step to the highest platform, uttama-adhikari

- Everyone is indebted to the demigods, to living entities in general, to his family, to the pitas and so on, but if one fully surrenders to Krsna, Mukunda, who can give one liberation, even if one performs no yajnas, one is freed from all debts
- Everyone is suffering from the results of sinful activities, but Krsna says that if one surrenders unto Him, He will protect one from sinful reactions
- Everyone is working in this material world for some salary or for some remuneration, but if one works as a matter of duty . . . anasritah karma-phalam karyam. Karyam means "It must be done." In such a way if somebody acts, then he is sannyasi
- Everyone must follow the four regulative principles and chant minimum of 16 rounds japa daily. There is no question of falldown if one seriously follows these principles
- Everyone should use his money to spread the great transcendental movement of Krsna consciousness. If one does not spend money for this purpose but accumulates more than necessary, he will certainly become proud of the money he illegally possesses
- Everything can be used in the service of Krsna. If one remains intoxicated and does not use one's material assets for the service of Krsna, they are not very valuable. But if one can use them for the service of Krsna, they become extremely valuable
- Everything takes practice. For example, if one wants to dance on the stage, one has to perform many rehearsals to practice how to dance. Then if one becomes an expert dancer, when one dances on stage one will receive acclaim - Ah, a very good dancer
- Evolution means to come to that end, Krsna consciousness. That is real evolution. If one misses the chance, then again falls down

- Factually, if one worships the Supreme Lord there is no need to worship anyone else
- False devotees may think that simply shedding tears will lead one to the transcendental plane, even if one has not had a factual change in heart, but such a practice is useless if there is no transcendental realization
- Familiarity breeds contempt." If one stays in Vrndavana for many days, he may fail to maintain proper respect for its inhabitants. Therefore those who have not attained the stage of spontaneous love for Krsna should not live in Vrndavana very long
- Foolish persons do not know how risky life is here if one does not follow the instructions of Krsna. The Krsna consciousness movement has been started so that by practicing Krsna consciousness one can avoid the risky life of this material existence
- For even if one cuts a tree, it never protests, and even if it is drying up and dying, it does not ask anyone for water
- For every individual living entity the process of Krsna consciousness, which entails full engagement in devotional service, is the best way. If one wants to ignore this devotional service, there is the danger of turning to atheism. BG 1972 purports

- From all angles of vision in all circumstances, if one fully surrenders unto the Supreme Personality of Godhead, there is no question of one's struggling for existence
- From the Bhagavad-gita we learn that if one dies while too much attached to one's wife, the result will be that in his next life he will have the body of a woman. And if the wife is very attached to her husband, she will get a man's body in her next life
- From the statements of the Bhagavatam it appears that if one thinks of Krsna, even as an enemy, that particular qualification - thinking of Visnu, or Krsna - cleanses one of all sins
- From the very features of the sage (Kardama), it appeared that he had undergone great austerities; that is the sign of one observing brahmacarya, the vow of celibacy. If one lives otherwise, it will be manifest in the lust visible in his face and body
- Fruits and flowers are very much pleasing to the Lord. If one wants to please the Supreme Personality of Godhead, he can simply offer fruits and flowers, and the Lord will be pleased to accept them. Our only duty is to please the Supreme Godhead

- Generally those engaged in spiritual advancement take food only once, either in the afternoon or in the evening. If one takes food only once, naturally he does not become fat
- Generally young boys are competitive. If one friend has done something, another friend also wants to do something. Therefore mother Yasoda pointed out how Krsna's playmates were decorated, so that Krsna might be induced to decorate Himself like them
- Generally, according to the law of karma, if one enacts pious deeds, he is awarded in the next life by birth into a very aristocratic family, or into a very wealthy family, or he becomes a great scholar, or he is born very beautiful
- Generally, if one blasphemes the Supreme Personality of Godhead he is punished
- Generally, if one leads an austere and pious life of celibacy, equanimity, charity, etc., people will say that he is a very pious man, but simply by becoming Krsna conscious, one can kill all the resultant actions of his past sinful life
- Generally, of course, one is not sexually attracted to his mother, sister or daughter, but if one allows himself to sit very close to such a woman, one may be attracted. This is a psychological fact
- Generally, once elevated to the transcendental platform of brahma-sukha, transcendental bliss, one never comes down. But if one does not engage in devotional service, there is a chance of his returning to the material platform
- God confirmed in the Bhagavad-gita (BG 9.26) - "If one offers Me with love and devotion a leaf, a flower, a fruit or water, I will accept it." The real ingredient is bhakti (devotion). Pure devotion is uncontaminated by the modes of material nature
- God offers the conditioned soul a material body for his so-called enjoyment, but if one does not come to his senses and enter into spiritual consciousness, God again puts him in the unmanifested condition as it existed in the beginning of the creation

- Hari Hari Biphale, 1968 part two - If anyone wants to get out of this blazing fire of poison of material enjoyment, then he has to take to this hari-nama-sankirtana, this chanting. That is the only method. So I did not do that
- Hari-katha, talks about Sri Hari, or Krsna, are amrta, nectar. If one hears them from the right source, he attains amrta (so 'mrtatvaya kalpate). Mrta means "birth and death," and amrta means - the cessation of birth and death
- He (Dhruva Maharaja) clearly says that this ocean (ocean of material existence) can be crossed very easily if one simply becomes mad to hear the glories of the Lord
- He (Krsna) is the perfect child, husband, friend and master, and He is full with all opulences and transcendental qualities. If one remains fully conscious of these features of the Lord, he is called the highest yogi. BG 1972 purports
- He (Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu) said, mayavadi-bhasya sunile haya sarva-nasa: (CC Madhya 6.169) "If one hears the Sariraka-bhasya of Sankaracarya, he is doomed"
- He (Sukadeva Gosvami) says that one can be perfectly purified if one either glorifies Krsna, meditates upon Him, or simply sits before the Deity of Krsna and sees Him, thinking, - How nicely dressed is Krsna. How nicely dressed is Radharani
- He (the Lord) can annihilate everything merely by His will. That is His supremacy. If one argues, "Why does He act in this way?" the answer is that He can do so because He is supreme. No one can question His activities
- He eats all kinds of nonsense and is condemned by his activities of sense enjoyment, If one really wants to progress in life, he must give up the ways of karma-kanda and jnana-kanda, fruitive activities and mental speculation
- He is misled and always attracted by temporary, illusory happiness. But Your transcendental activities are so powerful that if one engages in the hearing and chanting of such topics, he can be delivered from illusion
- Here (in New Zealand) also, we have opened temple. We invite anyone. If one person thinks that he is in scarcity or he has no . . . I don't think in your country such person is there. But still, if there is, he is cordially invited
- Here in the BG, the Lord says, karma-jam buddhi-yuktah. Karma-jam means whenever there is action there will be some reaction. If one acts in badness, there will be a bad reaction. But reaction, either good or bad, is, in the higher sense, all suffering
- However powerful the reactions of one's sins, they will immediately be vanquished if one chants the name of Hari, Krsna, Balarama or Narayana
- However, if one accepts prasada only because of its palatable taste and thus eats too much, he also falls prey to trying to satisfy the demands of the tongue
- However, if one carries out the regulative principles of these orders but does not render transcendental service to Krsna, he falls into a hellish condition of material life
- However, if one increases the number of disciples simply for some prestige or false honor, he will surely fall down in the matter of executing Krsna consciousness
- Human society should take advantage of the instructions from both sruti and smrti. If one wants to advance in spiritual life, he must take these instructions and follow the principles

- I (Krsna) shall cause him to forget all material desire. Kama lagi' krsna bhaje - if one engages in Krsna's service for sense gratification; paya krsna-rase - the result is that he ultimately gets a taste for serving the lotus feet of the Lord
- I am spirit soul, aham brahmasmi. So 'ham. I am the same quality as the Supreme Lord. So why I am put into this condition? - This is beginning of human life. And if one does not inquire this, then he is animal
- I have thus explained the mercy bestowed on Sanatana Gosvami by Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. If one hears this description, all moroseness in the heart will diminish
- If a ksatriya dies while fighting, then automatically he gets promotion in the heavenly planet. And if he goes away, giving up the fighting, then he goes to hell. So similarly, if one does not discharge his duties, prescribed duties, then he falls down
- If a person too attached to the duties of family maintenance is unable to control his senses, the core of his heart is immersed in how to accumulate money
- If actually one loves God, he must love everybody. That is the sign. Just like my heart is now thirsty. I am quenching with drinking water and putting here. So as soon as put this water here, immediately the energy distributed all over the body
- If anyone has nothing to serve, he keeps a dog and cat and becomes servant of the dog and cat
- If anyone loves Krsna, he must love Lord Jesus Christ also. And if one perfectly loves Jesus Christ he must love Krsna
- If anyone wants to understand Krsna and wants relationship with Krsna, then one must take to this process of bhakti-yoga. That is sankhya-yoga. That will be explained by Kapiladeva. Bhakti-yoga means sankhya-yoga
- If by following the ritualistic principles of any kind of religion, if one has not developed God consciousness or love of God, then it is simply waste of time, laboring. That's all
- If by our symbolic representation one immediately remembers Krsna, that is our success
- If he has got any other desire to fulfill, then it is mixed. It is not suddha-bhakti; it is vaidhi-bhakti. Karma-misra-bhakti, jnana-misra-bhakti, yoga-misra-bhakti. Bhakti must be there. Otherwise, karma, jnana, yoga, nothing is successful
- If he reads one sloka, his life will be successful. If he reads one sloka, one word. This is such nice things. Therefore we are stressing so much, "Please distribute book, distribute book, distribute book"
- If he thinks himself that, "I am non-entity, helpless," then he can remain (humble). If he thinks, "I can do something. I have got so much intelligence," then he cannot become humble
- If I am surcharged with electricity, I touch, you also become electric. And if he touches, he'll become. But if one is not in touch with electricity, then it will not act. So one must be electrified. Then if he touches somebody, he'll be electrified
- If one - in the role of a brahmana, ksatriya, vaisya or sudra and keeps busy and does not remember one's eternal relationship with the Lord, one's business and activities as well as occupational duties will simply be a waste of time
- If one 2) wants some material prosperity (sakama or sarva-kama), or wants to merge into the existence of the Supreme Brahman effulgence (moksa-kama), he is recommended to take to the path of devotional service, hear & chant of Visnu or of His devotee

- If one accepts punishment as a reward dealt by the master, he becomes intelligent enough not to commit the same mistake again
- If one accepts sannyasa at an immature stage, there is every possibility of his being attracted by women and lusty desires and thus again becoming a so-called grhastha or a victim of women
- If one accepts something without attachment and accepts it because it is related to Krsna, one’s renunciation is called yukta-vairagya
- If one accepts the existence of God, one certainly cannot establish the theory of monism. For this reason Sankaracarya refuted all kinds of Vedic literature that establishes the supremacy of the Personality of Godhead

- If one actually desires to get out of the material world, he must take to devotional service, which begins with sravanam kirtanam visnoh: (SB 7.5.23) chanting and hearing the glories of the Lord
- If one actually develops the devotional attitude, he must be freed from the material contamination of illicit sex, intoxication, gambling and meat-eating. These are the preliminary symptoms
- If one actually follows Rsabhadeva, he will certainly be delivered from the clutches of maya and return home, back to Godhead

- If one actually wants to take a Ph.D. degree from Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu and be approved by Ramananda Raya, he must first become free from all material designations

- If one adheres to these two books - Bhagavad-gita and Srimad-Bhagavatam - one is sure to obtain the association of Krsna in the next life - tyaktva deham punar janma naiti mam eti so 'rjuna - BG 4.9
- If one adopts the principles enunciated in Bhagavad-gita, he can make life perfect & make a perfect solution to the problems of life which arise out of the transient nature of material existence. This is the sum & substance of BG. BG 1972 Introduction
- If one adopts the simple method of engaging himself in devotional service, automatically he becomes eligible to be freed from material contamination and elevated to the transcendental position of associating with the Supreme Lord
- If one adopts this process, hearing from the realized soul in an attitude of humbleness, then he can conquer the ajita. He can understand
- If one advances further from the brahma-nirvana platform, one enters the stage of devotional service - mad-bhaktim labhate param
- If one advocates the Hindu religion, the Muslim religion, the Christian religion, this religion or that religion, there will be conflicts. History shows that the followers of religious systems without a clear conception of God have fought with one another
- If one agrees to put himself under the guidance of a devotee of God, he can also understand the science of God and can become like the transcendental pure devotee of the Lord and thus get his liberation back to Godhead, back home for eternal happiness
- If one always chants the holy name of Krsna, gradually one is freed from all reactions of sinful life, provided he chants offenselessly and does not commit more sinful activities on the strength of chanting the Hare Krsna mantra
- If one always chants the holy name of the Lord with great devotion in the evening and in the morning, one can become free from all material miseries
- If one always pleads that he has nothing, he is condemned, for he is a dead body while living, or while still breathing he should be killed
- If one always remains a servant of Krsna and engages everything in His service, one is accepted as jivan-mukta, a liberated soul, even during his lifetime within the material world
- If one always thinks of Krsna, feels how to serve Him and wills to execute the order of Krsna, it should be known that he has taken good instruction from his intelligence, which is called the mother
- If one always thinks of something, he certainly gets a related body after death. Maharaja Agnidhra was always thinking of Pitrloka, the place where his wife had returned. After his death he achieved that same planet, probably to live with her again
- If one approaches the Godhead by the method mentioned in this verse (BG 12.3-3), he has to control the senses, render service to everyone and engage in the welfare of all beings. BG 1972 purports
- If one argues how it is that in one place it is said that the stool of the animal is impure and another place it is said that the cow dung, which is also the stool of an animal, it is pure, so it is contradictory
- If one argues that since cow dung is pure, the stool of a learned brahmana is still more pure, his argument will not be accepted. Cow dung is accepted, and the stool of a highly posted brahmana is rejected
- If one argues, "What is the purpose of this sinful creation and annihilation?" the answer is that to prove His (the Supreme Lord's) omnipotence He can do anything, and no one can question Him
- If one arranges to feed many brahmanas or relatives during the sraddha ceremony, there will be discrepancies in the time, place, respectability and ingredients, the person to be worshiped, and the method of offering worship
- If one asks a tree, "Are you feeling happy?" the tree, if it could, might say - Yes, I am happy, standing here all year. I'm enjoying the wind and snowfall very much, etc
- If one asks about the origin of love of Krsna, the answer is that the origin is in Srimati Radharani alone. Who is the most dear friend of Krsna? The answer again is Srimati Radharani alone. No one else
- If one asks how a personality can be beheld in four quite opposing ways, the answer is that the Lord is the reservoir of all transcendental qualities and activities
- If one associates with a saintly person, a devotee, one's path of liberation becomes clear. But if one associates with a woman or with a person who is too much addicted to a woman, his path of bondage becomes completely clear
- If one associates with a sudra, a foolish person who is like a dancing dog in the hands of a woman, then he cannot make any progress
- If one associates with bhaktas, then one's svabhava, or nature, will change. Our Krsna consciousness movement is meant to give people good association so that this change may take place
- If one associates with Krsna, if one talks with Krsna, he must be very abhijnah, very learned, because he takes lessons from Krsna. Therefore Krsna's knowledge is perfect, therefore, because he takes knowledge from Krsna, his knowledge is also perfect
- If one associates with mahatmas, or devotees, his path of liberation is opened
- If one associates with the Hare Krsna movement, he directly associates with the Supreme Personality of Godhead
- If one associates with the Mayavada philosophy, his devotional life is doomed
- If one associates with the mode of goodness, he is elevated to the higher planetary systems. If he associates with the mode of passion, he remains here
- If one associates with the mode of ignorance and darkness, he goes down to lower life forms - animals, trees and plants. This is the proclamation of Sri Krsna in Bhagavad-gita - 14.18
- If one associates with the qualities of the hogs, one will actually become a hog in one's next birth. Prakrteh kriyamanani gunaih karmani sarvasah. Nature will give one a full opportunity: "All right, sir, become a hog." Such are nature's arrangements
- If one at all desires to have the association of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, then he must take to devotional service. BG 1972 purports
- If one attaches himself directly to the activities of Krsna consciousness, there may be objection from family members, or so many other difficulties. BG 1972 purports
- If one attains Vaikunthaloka, he attains the highest perfection of life and the end of the evolutionary process
- If one attempts suicide but does not succeed, or is somehow revived, he is subject to being punished under state law. Similarly, the laws of nature treat suicides as criminal acts
- If one attempts to go to higher planets by means of the yoga system, he will acquire a suitable body for entrance
- If one becomes a madman like Me (Caitanya), he may also understand the meaning of Srimad-Bhagavatam by this process
- If one becomes a servant of the servants of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu and Lord Nityananda Prabhu and is favored by Them, he can believe in all these discourses
- If one becomes a Vaisnava under the principles of Caitanya Mahaprabhu, he can be lifted at once from any abominable condition, svapacam varistham
- If one begets children with the purpose of training them to surrender to Krsna, fatherhood is very good. Similarly, when the spiritual master trains the conditioned souls to become Krsna conscious, his position is successful
- If one begins the life of brahma-jijnasa, brahma-jnana, and when it ends in understanding Krsna, that is perfection of life
- If one believes in the Vedic literatures, one must accept all the Vedic literatures recognized by the great acaryas, but the Mayavadi philosophers accept only the nyaya-prasthana and sruti-prasthana, rejecting the smrti-prasthana
- If one blasphemes the Supreme Lord, his punishment is to remain in hellish life for many millions of years more than one suffers by killing many brahmanas
- If one blind man tries to lead another, what is the result? If both the leaders and followers are blind, they will all fall in a ditch, for they are all bound by their nature
- If one bona fide spiritual master is born in a brahmana family & another in a sudra family, one should accept the one who is born in a brahmana family. This statement serves as a social compromise, it has nothing to do with spiritual understanding
- If one by chance associates with a devotee, even for a fraction of a moment, he no longer is subject to attraction by the results of karma or jnana
- If one by chance sees his (one who considers the body of Krsna to be material) face, he should at once take bath in the Ganges to rid himself of infection. BG 1972 purports
- If one by chance, even without his knowledge, he offers his obeisances to Lord Visnu or receives the favor of a Vaisnava, a devotee of the Lord, he at that time acquires the asset necessary to approach the Supreme Personality of Godhead
- If one by practice of meditation is actually advancing in spiritual life, why he's materially affected? What is the difference between a person materially affected and spiritually advanced
- If one by sentiments takes to Krsna consciousness, tyaktva sva-dharmam, giving up his own occupation, but maybe, for immature condition he may fall down, yatra kva va abhadram, what is the loss
- If one can accept the subtle body of a dream as false and not identify oneself with that body, then certainly an awake person need not identify with the gross body
- If one can afford to, one should offer the Deity fine rice boiled in milk with clarified butter and molasses. While chanting the same original mantra, one should offer all this to the fire
- If one can attract the Supreme Personality of Godhead, one naturally attracts the whole universe because Krsna is the supreme cause of the universe
- If one can continue without sex life he is praised, naisthika-brahmacari. If one cannot, all right you become a perfect grhastha
- If one can remain a brahmacari, he saves himself so much trouble in material existence
- If one cannot assimilate the Vedic knowledge, veda-vada-parah partha nanyad astiti vadinah, if they become simply Vedic student, without assimilating, then it is very difficult. But if one can understand what is the idea of Vedic principle, it is easy
- If one cannot complete the fixed number of rounds he is assigned, he should be considered to be in a diseased condition of spiritual life
- If one cannot externally serve the Supreme Personality of Godhead, one can serve the Lord within one's mind, since the activities of the mind are as good as those of the other senses. This is called the nondual or absolute situation - advaya jnana
- If one cannot find anything to serve, he goes and buys a cat or dog and serves it. Why is this? It is because service is our nature. We are simply lacking the knowledge of where to direct the service
- If one cannot give up his engagement, although he is very eager to go back to Godhead. Under these circumstances, the Lord, who is situated in everyone's heart, compassionately takes away all the material possessions
- If one cannot give up sex life, let him be satisfied with one man and one woman. That is also tapasya, that is also brahmacari. But not that jumping from here, there, there, there, there, no, like monkey, no. This is training
- If one cannot remember all the names (of Lord Visnu) at one time, one may simply chant, "Lord Visnu, Lord Visnu, Lord Visnu," and always think of Lord Visnu. Visnor aradhanam param: this is the highest form of worship
- If one cannot sacrifice the results of his activities, the same person can still sacrifice some percentage to propagate Krsna consciousness
- If one carefully scrutinizes and studies the Puranas, he will find that Krsna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, is the only object of worship
- If one carries out Krsna's order, Krsna is certainly pleased, but if one sometimes breaks His order due to ecstatic love, that gives Him millions of times greater happiness
- If one carries out the order of the spiritual master by disciplic succession, or the parampara system, he overcomes the four defects
- If one changes his consciousness, however, and associates with the supreme, original person (purusam sasvatam), or with His associates, he can get out of the entanglement of material nature
- If one chants Hare Krsna throughout his life, he will not grow tired of the names, but if one chants a material name over and over, he will soon become disgusted. The more one chants the names of Krsna, the more he becomes attached
- If one chants the Hare Krsna maha-mantra but his life is still full of sinful activities, it will be very difficult for him to achieve the platform of loving service to the Lord
- If one chants the Hare Krsna maha-mantra without any offense, under the guidance of a spiritual master, all these samskaras (ten kinds of purificatory processes) automatically become fulfilled, and one returns to his original, spiritual position
- If one chants the Hare Krsna maha-mantra without offenses, all of one's sinful actions are surely atoned for immediately, but one should not commit such deeds again, for that is an offense
- If one chants the Hare Krsna mantra while committing offenses, these unwanted creepers will grow
- If one chants the holy name even once without committing an offense, he attains all success. During the chanting of the holy name, the tongue must work
- If one chants the holy name of Hari and then dies because of an accidental misfortune, such as being bitten by a serpent, being afflicted with pain and high fever, one is immediately absolved from having to enter hellish life, even though he is sinful
- If one chants the holy name of Lord Krsna in this manner, he will certainly awaken his dormant love for Krsna's lotus feet
- If one chants the holy name of the Lord even once, the reactions of past, present or future sinful life do not affect him
- If one chants the holy name of the Lord just to make a show, not knowing the secret of success, he may increase his bile secretion, but he will never attain perfection in chanting the holy name
- If one chants the holy name of the Lord, even a glimpse of such chanting can immediately free one from all sins
- If one chants the holy name of the Lord, even in a helpless condition or without desiring to do so, all the reactions of his sinful life depart, just as when a lion roars, all the small animals flee in fear - Garuda Purana
- If one chants the holy names and still has material attachments, he must be committing some offense
- If one chants the name of Hari & then dies because of an accidental misfortune, such as falling from the top of a house, slipping & suffering broken bones while traveling, one is immediately absolved from having to enter hellish life even if he is sinful
- If one cherishes pure loving devotion to Me, thinking of Me as his son, his friend or his beloved, regarding himself as great and considering Me his equal or inferior, I become subordinate to him
- If one claims that he can become God by worshiping such and such a deity or by meditating, we should immediately take it that he is not a god, but a dog
- If one comes in contact with the book Bhagavatam as well as with the devotee bhagavata, who knows what the Bhagavatam is, then such a fortunate man gets out of the material entanglement
- If one comes to know Him as the father of all the living entities, still one may not know Him as the supreme controller. BG 1972 purports
- If one comes to Krsna consciousness somehow or other, even for material gain, the result is that he will be liberated
- If one comes to the understanding, enlightenment . . . this is the beginning of enlightenment - self-understanding, that - I am part and parcel of Krsna. I do not belong to this material world
- If one comes under someone else's control or is defeated by another, he is called jitah
- If one commits any of the above offenses, one must read at least one chapter of Bhagavad-gita. This is confirmed in the Skanda-Purana, Avanti-khanda
- If one commits criminal activities, the state will punish him. Sometimes, however, a criminal may escape punishment by the state, but this is not the case with God's law
- If one commits sinful acts in full consciousness, not only once but many, many times, he is unable to free himself from the reactions of such sins even after atoning for them for twelve years or more
- If one commits vaisnava-aparadhas, all of his progress in devotional service will be checked. Even though one is very much advanced in devotional service, if he commits offenses at the feet of a Vaisnava, his advancement is all spoiled
- If one compares Narayana to the demigods, he simply reveals his lack of intelligence. It is also fashionable to speak of daridra-narayana, poor Narayana, claiming that the poor man in the street is Narayana. But what is this nonsense
- If one concocts his own religious path within his mind, or if one follows no religious principles at all, he is punished in the hell known as Asi-patravana
- If one connects himself with Hari, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, the Lord takes away all his miseries, and in the beginning the Lord also superficially appears to take away all his material possessions, reputation, education and beauty
- If one considers the spiritual master an ordinary human being, one is doomed. His study of the Vedas and his austerities and penances for enlightenment are all useless, like the bathing of an elephant
- If one considers the statements of the Caitanya-bhagavata along with the description by Locana dasa Thakura, it is clear that present-day Navadvipa was formerly known as Kuliya-grama
- If one continues committing sins after making some atonement, he will not be saved. In the sastras, such atonement is compared to an elephant’s bathing
- If one continues in his opulent position but does not become unnecessarily proud, falsely thinking that he is the proprietor of everything, this is the Lord's special mercy
- If one continues in this way (of devotional service), Krsna will always be pleased with him and will give him all instructions so that he may very easily return home, back to Godhead
- If one continues to hear Srimad-Bhagavatam, which is full of narratives of the pastimes of the Lord, at the end of this life, one is sure to be transferred to the eternal, transcendental abode of the Lord
- If one continues to offer personal prayers to the Supreme Personality of Godhead, he is eligible to become a pure devotee and return home, back to Godhead
- If one continuously or permanently concentrates on living with his family, he should be understood to be killing himself
- If one continuously poses himself as possessing nothing and collects money by begging, he should be killed - sainam tatraiva hanyat
- If one continuously sprinkles drops of ghee on a fire, the fire will not be extinguished, but if one suddenly puts a lump of ghee on a fire, the fire may possibly be extinguished entirely
- If one could achieve success without the sanction of the Lord then no medical practitioner would fail to cure a patient
- If one criticizes or finds fault with such an empowered personality, one is to be considered an offender against Lord Visnu and is punishable
- If one cultivates devotional service further and further, under proper guidance, other features of devotional service will gradually become manifest
- If one daily sees the Deity in the temple, makes offerings by worshiping the Deity, chants the holy name of the PG, & preaches about the glorious activities of God as much as possible, he thus becomes attached to Krsna. This attachment is called asakti
- If one decides to sacrifice for the supreme cause, even if he does not know that the supreme cause is Krsna, he will come gradually to understand that Krsna is the supreme cause by the sacrificial method. BG 1972 purports
- If one decorates oneself, one's reflection in a mirror will also appear decorated. Similarly, since we are reflections of Krsna, if we decorate Krsna we also shall be decorated
- If one decries or blasphemes the Vedic principles, then he falls to the standard of atheism
- If one delivers his mind to the lotus feet of Krsna (sa vai manah krsna-padaravindayoh (SB 9.4.18)), one can naturally sacrifice everything to satisfy Him
- If one derides a devotee for his accidental falldown, then he is disobeying the order of the Supreme Lord. The only qualification of a devotee is to be unflinchingly and exclusively engaged in devotional service. BG 1972 purports
- If one desires a good marital relation he should worship the chaste goddess Uma, the wife of Lord siva
- If one desires all opulences, his duty is to daily worship Lord Visnu with His wife, Laksmi. With great devotion one should worship Him according to the above-mentioned process
- If one desires freedom from this vicious circle (of fruitive action), then one must cease to act as a karmi or enjoyer of the results of one's own work, good or bad
- If one desires liberation from the clutches of maya, one must associate with a pure devotee mahatma
- If one desires to advance in spiritual life but he acts whimsically, not following the orders of the spiritual master, he has no shelter. Yasyaprasadan na gatih kuto 'pi
- If one desires to be a greatly learned man he should worship Lord Siva
- If one desires to enter into the spiritual world, he must try to understand the Supreme Personality of Godhead by practicing bhakti-yoga
- If one desires to make a compromise with the Mayavadis, he is also engaged in material activity. A devotee should never make compromises with nondevotees
- If one desires to understand the sun as it is, one must first face the sunshine and then the sun globe, and then, if one is able to enter into that globe, one may come face to face with the predominating deity of the sun - CC Preface
- If one desires unalloyed devotional service, one must associate with devotees of Sri Krsna, for by such association only can a conditioned soul achieve a taste for transcendental love
- If one develops a devotional attitude and becomes purified by worshiping the Supreme Lord, all the good qualities are certainly manifested in his body. Because of being touched by worship of Visnu, both Diti and Indra were purified
- If one develops devotional service and attachment by following in the footsteps of the Vrajavasis, he attains raga-marga-bhakti, or devotional service in attachment to the Lord
- If one develops directly a desire to engage in Krsna consciousness in pure devotional service, he does not need to undergo step by step improvements in spiritual realization. BG 1972 purports
- If one develops love for Krsna by Krsna conscious activities, one can know the Supreme Absolute Truth, but he who tries to understand God simply by logical arguments will not succeed, nor will he get a taste for unalloyed devotion
- If one develops this laulyam, or excessive eagerness for meeting and serving the Lord in a particular way, that is the price to enter into the kingdom of God
- If one directly engages in the service of the President, when one is in some difficulty he is especially protected
- If one directly follows the instructions of the Supreme Lord, as inculcated in the Bhagavad-gita and Srimad-Bhagavatam, then one gradually becomes nirguna, or above the interactions of the material qualities
- If one disrespect the parampara system, then he'll not be accepted by Krsna
- If one diverts his attention to studying many books, he cannot fix his mind in devotional service, nor can he understand many scriptures, for they are full of grave statements and meanings
- If one does not accept Krsna as the Supreme Personality of Godhead, then he should be rejected immediately. It is not sectarian. It is test tube
- If one does not accept Sri Krsna as the Supreme, this Ninth Chapter will appear as something different from what it actually is. As stated in the beginning, the subject matter of the Ninth Chapter is the most confidential material in the entire BG
- If one does not accept the authority of the Supreme Godhead in matters of religion and morality, one must explain why two persons of the same moral standard achieve different results
- If one does not accept the living entity to be a minute, infinitesimal spark of the Supreme but equates the jiva-tattva with the Supreme Brahman or Supreme PG, it must be understood that his entire philosophy is based on a misunderstanding
- If one does not accept this - if one thinks that there is no life after death - one is foolish
- If one does not act accord to the rules and regulations of sanatana-dharma, that is his business. That's all
- If one does not act for the satisfaction of Krsna, who is known as Visnu or Yajna, he must be entangled in the reactions of fruitive activities. These reactions are called papa and punya - sinful and pious
- If one does not act for the satisfaction of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, or if one does not perform devotional service, then there will be reactions to all one's activities
- If one does not approach, or is not able to approach, the transcendental service of the Lord, then the other nineteen items are of no particular value. BG 1972 purports
- If one does not attain the perfect stage of devotional service, all austerities and penances actually have no meaning, for without the Supreme Lord no one can attain the highest results derived from performing them
- If one does not believe in the uncommon transcendental pastimes of the Lord, he is vanquished both in this world and in the next
- If one does not care for the verdict of the sastras and dares blaspheme a Vaisnava, he suffers life after life because of this
- If one does not care to listen to His (Krsna's) instructions, the result will be that one will never go back to Godhead, but will continue life in this miserable condition of repeated birth and death in material existence
- If one does not clearly understand the meaning of parinama-vada, or transformation of energy, one is sure to misunderstand the truth regarding this material cosmic manifestation and the living entities
- If one does not come to Krsna consciousness, he may be relieved for the time being from the reactions of sinful activities, but he will again commit transgressions
- If one does not come to the platform of spontaneous service in the beginning, he must adopt regulative service according to the instructions of the spiritual master. This regulative service is called vaidhi bhakti
- If one does not come to the point of knowing that the living entities are eternal parts and parcels of the whole and can never become the whole, one has to fall down again into the material atmosphere
- If one does not come to this platform (of Krsna consciousness), he must continue in material existence perpetually, sometimes in the upper planets and sometimes in the lower planets
- If one does not come to this stage, simply by academic education he says: "It should be like this. The interpretation should be like this," he's simply wasting time. Frog philosopher
- If one does not completely devote his mind and body to the service of the Lord, he does not actually become a sannyasi. It is not simply a matter of changing dress
- If one does not develop knowledge and practical application of knowledge through the help of a spiritual master and the sastras - if one misuses this opportunity - then in the next life he is sure to be born in a species of nonmoving living entities
- If one does not discuss that which is important in life, one is put into darkness and must struggle for existence. What, then, is the benefit of his advancement in knowledge
- If one does not distinguish between the bhakti creeper and the other creepers, the sprinkling of water is misused because the other creepers are nourished while the bhakti creeper is curtailed
- If one does not endeavor to counteract his situation but is satisfied with his position, knowing that he has obtained his position through past activities, he can instead engage his energy to develop Krsna consciousness
- If one does not enter the devotional service of the Lord but artificially considers himself Brahman or Narayana, not perfectly understanding that the soul and body are different, one certainly falls down. Such a person again gives importance to the body
- If one does not follow them (direction of the sastra) and acts whimsically according to his lust, greed and desire, then he never will be perfect in his life. BG 1972 purports
- If one does not follow these principles strictly (one should not indulge in illicit sex life, intoxication, meat eating or gambling), there may be a severe disturbance in the discharge of devotional service
- If one does not follow this rule (because of an accidental falldown a devotee should not be derided), and derides a devotee for his accidental falldown, then he is disobeying the order of the Supreme Lord. BG 1972 purports
- If one does not have full faith in Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, he cannot properly chant and dance in the sankirtana movement
- If one does not hear Krsna, then he must be grouped in these categories: duskrtina, mudha, naradhama, mayayapahrta-jnana. What is the value of their so-called education if they cannot understand the simple truth, tatha dehantara-praptih - BG 2.13
- If one does not immediately leave upon hearing the Lord or the Lord’s devotee blasphemed, he falls down from devotional service
- If one does not know God is good, then he is imperfect in his knowledge
- If one does not know how to taste honey, one begins licking at the bottle, but for one to actually taste the honey, the bottle must be opened, and the key to its opening is the devotee
- If one does not know of the material sufferings of fallen souls and becomes sympathetic because of bodily comforts, as in the case of Bharata Maharaja, such sympathy or compassion is the cause of one's downfall
- If one does not know the essence of all revealed scriptures but still becomes a teacher, his teaching is like the disturbing braying of an ass
- If one does not know the subject matter of meditation, where is the question of meditation? Therefore there must be hearing and chanting about Lord Visnu (sravanam kirtanam visnoh) - SB 7.5.23
- If one does not know the ultimate cause, what is the use of his scientific and philosophical research
- If one does not know this (that the Supreme Lord Krsna is the enjoyer of all benefits and He is the proprietor of everything) and functions instead under the bodily conception, he is always harassed by the tribulations offered by material nature
- If one does not know what his position is, what benefit will he derive by simply being stamped - Hindu
- If one does not know what is honesty, how can he be honest? But if you know what is honesty, then you can be honest. What is honesty? First of all explain
- If one does not know who God is, who Krsna is, and if one does not surrender to Him, then where is the question of knowledge? But if a rascal claims that "I am a man of knowledge," what can be done
- If one does not observe the breaking of the fast (of Ekadasi) within the time of Dvadasi, there is a flaw in one's observance of the vow
- If one does not observe the regulative principle, then he should not declare himself as brahmana, ksatriya, vaisya, sudra
- If one does not offer obeisances to such a sannyasi (tridandi sannyasi), the prescribed prayascitta is to fast for one day
- If one does not ordinarily take care, outlaw, then he'll be put into the prison house and by force, by beating, by punishment, he has to accept: "Yes, yes, I accept"
- If one does not receive the Supreme Personality of Godhead’s mercy, one’s life is defeated
- If one does not say on the standard of Krsna, then he's not guru. He's a bogus
- If one does not show respect to such highly elevated persons but indulges in false pride, he receives punishment in Ksarakardama
- If one does not take advantage of all these facilities to cross the ocean of nescience, he is certainly committing suicide
- If one does not take advantage of the instructions of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, who descends within this world for the benefit of all living entities, he is certainly very unfortunate
- If one does not take advantage of this opportunity (to follow a spiritual master's guide), one wastes the human form of life. Wasting time and life in this way is the same as committing suicide
- If one does not take shelter of Acyuta and Baladeva, then the senses, acting as the horses, and the intelligence, acting as the driver, both being prone to material contamination, inattentively bring the body to the path of sense gratification
- If one does not take to the path of disciplic succession, it is not possible for one to understand the Supreme Personality of Godhead
- If one does not take to this process (of devotional service), one imagines or manufactures some form of God according to material qualities and can never awaken a real understanding of the Supreme Personality of Godhead
- If one does not think or act wisely, as Vedic knowledge prescribes, how can he stop the problems of life? Simply by atonement there may be a temporary suppression of difficulties, but they will arise again
- If one does not try to study the eternal element of time, what benefit can he derive from performing temporary material activities?
- If one does not understand how he is being tossed by the waves (of the river maya), but simply engages in temporary fruitive activities, what benefit will he derive?
- If one does not understand Krsna and does not surrender to Krsna, he is simply uselessly wasting his time. That is the verdict of all Vedic literature
- If one does not understand this (that the demigods and himself are part and parcel of the Supreme Lord), he achieves different planets where the demigods reside. This is not the same destination the devotee reaches. BG 1972 purports
- If one does not understand what Krsna, he is either duskrtina, means sinful; mudha, rascal; naradhama, lowest of the mankind; and mayayapahrta-jnana - and his so-called education and degrees are useless because real knowledge is taken away from him
- If one does not utilize his human life for svarga or apavarga, he falls again to the degraded life of animals like dogs and hogs
- If one does not, therefore, understand this science of transmigration but considers the body to be all in all, his intelligence is not very advanced
- If one does so and becomes successful in the discharge of his devotional service unto the Lord, it is well and good

- If one drinks but a drop of the nectar of Krsna's pastimes, his body and mind begin to bloom, and he begins to laugh, sing and dance
- If one earns a great deal of money but tries to hide it to avoid paying income tax, the government considers him to be a criminal. He cannot say, "I have earned this money. Why shall I pay tax to the government?" No, he must pay or risk punishment
- If one earns his livelihood by displaying the Deity in the temple, he is not an acarya or gosvami. It would be better for him to accept service even as a sweeper in the street, for that is a more honorable means of earning one’s living
- If one eats in this manner (eating half of what desired and filling the rest with water), he will avoid indigestion and disease. The yogi should eat in this way, as recommended in the Srimad-Bhagavatam and all other standard scriptures
- If one embraces others in a false sense of altruism, one can get only a temporary benefit for himself in the shape of some profit, adoration, or distinction
- If one employs this armor, whomever he sees with his eyes or touches with his feet is immediately freed from all the above-mentioned dangers
- If one endeavors simply to achieve knowledge of the Absolute Truth or the Supersoul but has no devotional service, he labors without gaining the real result. This is compared to beating the husks of wheat after the grains have already been removed
- If one engages all material things in relation with the loving service of the Lord, one is situated in yukta-vairagya, proper renunciation
- If one engages for the service of the Lord whatever money one has honestly earned, that is spiritual service to the Supreme Personality of Godhead, the spiritual master and the Vaisnavas
- If one engages himself in his original, spiritual business, acting as the servant of Krsna, then all processes of purification and reformation are fulfilled
- If one engages himself in the service of Krsna or His plenary expansions with unfailing determination, although these modes of material nature are very difficult to overcome, he can overcome them easily. BG 1972 purports
- If one engages himself in the service of Radha and Krsna, he can transcend the regulative principles enjoined in the sastras and, through his spiritual master, fully engage in rendering spontaneous love to Krsna
- If one engages himself in the service of the Lord some way or other, then the revelation, the original dormant God consciousness and love of God, becomes revived
- If one engages himself in the service of the Lord through his life, wealth, words, intelligence and everything he possesses, he will always be liberated in any condition. Such a person is called a jivan-mukta, one who is liberated during this lifetime
- If one engages his possessions in the service of the Lord under the guidance of a proper spiritual master. he will attain happiness both in this life and the next
- If one engages in devotional activities - he can achieve the highest goal of life with freedom from miserable conditions. Considering this, one should cease from material desires

- If one engages in devotional service from the beginning of life, he easily attains vairagya-vidya, or asakti, detachment, and becomes jitendriya, the controller of his senses
- If one engages in spontaneous loving service to the Lord, his affection for the lotus feet of Krsna gradually increases
- If one engages in temporary fruitive activities, not knowing that Supreme Person, what benefit will he derive?
- If one engages in the service of a pure devotee, the reactions of one's sinful life are vanquished automatically
- If one engages in the service of the lotus feet of the Lord, he does not want anything more. This is the highest stage of devotional service
- If one engages in the service of the spiritual master, he not only sees the Supreme Personality of Godhead but attains liberation
- If one engages in the service of Vasudeva, Krsna, this knowledge comes, and one becomes a mahatma. A mahatma is one who realizes that Krsna is everything

- If one engages only in caring for the necessities of the body, not caring for the eternal necessities of life, then he is part of a civilization whose advancement puts the living entities in the darkest region of ignorance
- If one enters an unknown city without friend or shelter, living in that city is more difficult than living in a forest. There are many big cities all over the surface of the globe, and wherever one looks he sees the struggle for existence going on
- If one enters the Vaikuntha-dhama (pratyag-dhama), he does not return to this material world
- If one enviously kills others for the protection of such a body, does he actually know the true interest of life? Certainly he does not, for if one is envious of other entities, he surely goes to hell
- If one equalizes Rukminiramana, Radharamana, Narayana or any other name of the Supreme Lord, he commits the fault of overlapping tastes, which is technically called rasabhasa
- If one equates the names Radha-ramana or Radha-Krsna with Rukmini-ramana, Narayana or any other name of the Supreme Lord, he commits the fault of overlapping tastes, which is technically called rasabhasa
- If one executes his duties as a brahmana, Visnu will be very pleased, and if one executes his duties perfectly as a ksatriya or sudra, Visnu will also be very pleased
- If one executes his duties as a perfect ksatriya, vaisya, sudra or whatever, Visnu will be pleased. The purpose of work is to please Visnu. Unfortunately, people have forgotten this
- If one extracts the poison fangs of a serpent, this saves the serpent's future victims from poisonous effects, even if the serpent bites repeatedly
- If one fails to take advantage of this opportunity (of this human form of life), one's human life is wasted. We are therefore trying to save human society from degradation and actually elevate people to the higher nature
- If one faithfully and inoffensively chants the holy name of the Lord, where is the doubt that he will return to Godhead?

- If one falls down, his progress might be checked for a certain time, but it will again become manifest at an opportune moment

- If one flies in outer space, he can go very high up, but unless he reaches a planet he must come down again to earth
- If one follows a concocted system of religion, he is envious not only of others but also of himself. Consequently his system of religion is useless
- If one follows bona fide guru's instruction, and he is engaged in devotional service, then it is possible. Then it is possible. Otherwise, if he does whimsically, then it will be a failure
- If one follows in the footsteps of the inhabitants of Vrndavana out of such transcendental covetousness, he does not care for the injunctions or reasonings of sastra. That is the way of spontaneous love
- If one follows religious principles, he automatically practices birth control because if one is spiritually educated he knows that the after-effects of sex are various types of misery - bahu-duhkha-bhaja
- If one follows the instructions of Mayavadi philosophers and believes that the Supreme Personality of Godhead and the individual soul are one, his understanding of real philosophy is forever doomed
- If one follows the instructions of Narada Muni, one can be delivered from any number of sinful reactions. This is the process
- If one follows the path of philosophical speculation, the Absolute Truth manifests Himself as impersonal Brahman, and if one follows the path of mystic yoga, He manifests Himself as the Supersoul
- If one follows the regulative principles of knowledge, he gradually progresses toward liberation from material contamination
- If one foolishly engages in temporary fruitive activities and does not look toward the cessation of this bondage, what will be the benefit of his actions?
- If one forgets all his bodily relationships within this material world and becomes situated in his spiritual identity, it is said that one has been freed from all material contamination by the blazing fire of yogic samadhi, or ecstasy
- If one forgets the difference between the Supreme Lord and the living entity, his conditional life begins. Conditional life means giving up one body to accept another and undergoing death to accept death again
- If one forgets to show respect in this way (when seeing a Vaisnava, or even a sannyasi), one must observe a fast for that day. This is a Vedic injunction
- If one form or feature is differently manifested according to different emotional features, it is called vaibhava-prakasa
- If one fortunately understands the Supreme Lord in this way (by devotional service), after giving up his material body, he no longer has to take birth in this material world. Instead, he returns home, back to Godhead. That is the ultimate perfection

- If one gets a chaste wife, accepted through a religious marriage ritual, she can be of great help when one is threatened by the many dangerous situations of life
- If one gets a diamond, he possesses something valuable. But in this civilization you are simply making plastic plates and plastic cups. Indeed, in Japan I have seen pasteboard homes. And everyone is thinking that he is advanced
- If one gets a good manager, his estate is very nicely managed, but if the manager is a thief, his estate is spoiled
- If one gets another chance in a human body and wastes his valuable time in the association of persons who are concerned with sexual life and palatable dishes, then naturally he again glides down to the same Andha-tamisra and Tamisra hells
- If one gets more than is needed, the surplus should be fully engaged in the Lord's service. That will make the conditioned soul, the world and Krsna happy, and this is the aim of life
- If one gets something superior, he naturally gives up all inferior things. We want enjoyment, but impersonalism and voidism have created such an atmosphere that we have become addicted to material enjoyment
- If one gets the advantage of association with saintly persons, by their instructions one becomes more and more purified of material desires
- If one gets the chance to hear from pure devotees in such a place, allowing the constant flow of the river of nectar to come from the mouths of pure devotees, then the cultivation of Krsna consciousness becomes very easy
- If one gets the opportunity to possess a human form of body, in this body he can fulfill the four principles of dharma, artha, kama and moksa
- If one gets the opportunity to take birth in a very rich or royal family, even then he is always anxious to maintain the status quo and prepare for the next life by performing various sacrifices and distributing charity
- If one gives aural reception to the sound vibrated by great devotees and acaryas, that alone will give him relief from all material contamination
- If one gives charity for some return, that is passion. And if somebody gives in charity in an improper place and time, without respect and to an unworthy person, just like the Bowery man, that is ignorance
- If one gives some contribution to a Krsna conscious man, he never refuses it
- If one gives the conditioned souls a chance to become Krsna conscious, all his activities are approved by the Supreme Personality of Godhead, who is extremely pleased
- If one gives up everything for Krsna's sake, maya can have no effect. The most excellent example of this is the gopis. They gave up everything - family, prestige and honor - just to follow Krsna
- If one gives up Krsna consciousness, even though he is born in a brahmana family or even though he has practiced brahmanism, still, on account of his not accepting KC, he is accepted as muci and if one is KC, then he is suci
- If one gives up the auspicious path of devotional service and simply tries to know things by speculation, one wastes his valuable time. The result of such a labor of love is simply labor; there is no other result
- If one gives up the research work just after making a few steps' advance, oh, that will not help. One has to go on, go on with it with steadiness, that "What is God? I shall see." That is called jnani, jijnasu, philosopher, inquisitive

- If one gradually gives up his hereditary customs and duties and tries to serve the SP of Godhead in his natural position, he is gradually able to become free from these activities, and he attains the stage of niskama, freedom from material desires
- If one happens to be a ksatriya he has the power to punish any man; therefore a ksatriya should at once cut out the tongue of the vilifier and kill him. But as far as the vaisyas and sudras are concerned, they should immediately give up their bodies
- If one has a million dollars, he should not keep it, but, as long as it is within his jurisdiction, he should spend it for Krsna. Money or energy is properly utilized when it is directed to Krsna
- If one has a motive for personal sense gratification, his devotional service is manifested differently. Such a man may be violent, proud, envious and angry, and his interests are separate from the Lord's
- If one has a nice wife, he is to be considered a most fortunate man. In astrology, a man is considered fortunate who has great wealth, very good sons or a very good wife. Of these three, one who has a very good wife is considered the most fortunate
- If one has a process, he should practice it (Krsna consciousness), or he can come and learn this process. One should not begrudge the selection of one process over another
- If one has a tinge of attachment for the material enjoyments of eating, sleeping, mating and defending, one is not niskincana. But one really should be niskincana
- If one has actually approached the Supreme Personality of Godhead, he does not need to undergo severe austerities. The Supreme Personality of Godhead is understood through the process of devotional service
- If one has actually heard about Krsna, one's next engagement in bhakti-yoga will be to chant - gayanti

- If one has fallen in the blind well - "Please get me up! Get me up!" - so I give him a rope: "Yes, catch it. I'll get you . . ." "No, no, I shall not catch." Without catching, there is no . . . so if you want to learn, come here. Stay. We shall teach you
- If one has falsely accepted such a guru (who goes against the principle of visnu-bhakti), one should reject him. Such a guru is described in Mahabharata Udyoga 179.25

- If one has finished fifty percent of the process (of KC) in one life, in the next life he begins at fifty-one percent. Whatever material assets we accumulate in our life, however, are all annihilated at death, for we cannot take material opulence with us

- If one has money one should divide all that he has accumulated into five divisions - one part for religion, one part for reputation, one part for opulence, one part for sense gratification and one part to maintain the members of his family
- If one has money, instead of constructing costly temples, one should spend his money for the publication of authorized books in different languages for propagating the Krsna consciousness movement
- If one has money, it should not be squandered away on nothing. It should be used to push forward the Krsna consciousness movement so that all of human society will become happy, prosperous and hopeful of being promoted back home, back to Godhead
- If one has no ability to chant or if one's mind is so disturbed that one cannot fix it upon Krsna, one is given this chance - Here is the Deity. Simply see Him
- If one has no connection with Nitai, Balarama, then even though one is a very learned scholar or jnani or has taken birth in a very respectable family, these assets will not help him

- If one has no love of God, then what is the use of claiming that one's religion is the best? Where is the sign of love of Godhead? That is to be seen. Everyone will say, "My understanding is the best." But there must be practical proof

- If one has no sense to understand Krsna consciousness, or God consciousness, he is no better than the dog and cat. No credit
- If one has no straw mat, he can immediately cleanse the ground and ask the guest to sit there. Supposing that a householder cannot even do that, then with folded hands he can simply receive the guest, saying, "Welcome
- If one has not developed loving devotion to the Lord and simply offers many kinds of foodstuffs, fruits and flowers without real devotion, the offering will not be accepted by the Lord
- If one has not the taste what is Krsna consciousness, simply accept sannyasa, then he will do all this nonsense work
- If one has nothing to control, he keeps a dog to control. That is very good experience in your country. He has no children to control, no wife to control - keep a dog. So the controlling propensity is there, everywhere, but he is not Supreme Controller
- If one has scientific, philosophical, political, economic or any other abilities and wants perfection in his knowledge, he should offer prayers to the SP of Godhead by composing first-class poetry or engaging his talents in the service of the Lord
- If one has some knowledge, even though it may not be perfect, that is goodness. And in passion one identifies with his material body and tries to gratify his senses. That is passion
- If one has staunch faith in the Supreme Personality of Godhead and as much faith in the guru, yatha deve tatha gurau, then the revealed scriptures become manifest. It is not the education. It is not the scholarship. It is faith in Krsna and guru
- If one has studied Veda, but has not understood Krsna, then his labor is useless
- If one has studiesVedas, the test will be whether he understands Krsna. Vedais ca sarvair aham eva vedyam (BG 15.15). If he is missing Krsna - Krsna is unknown - then all his study is useless waste of time. This is the verdict of the sastra

- If one hears about the uncommon activities of the Supreme Personality of Godhead in His various incarnations, he is certainly elevated to the higher planetary system or even brought back home, back to Godhead
- If one hears an irresponsible person blaspheme the master and controller of religion, he should block his ears and go away if unable to punish him. But if one is able to kill, then one should by force cut out the blasphemer's tongue and kill the offender
- If one hears and again narrates, with faith and devotion, this story of the Daksa yajna as it was conducted by the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Visnu, then certainly one is cleared of all contamination of material existence, O son of Kuru
- If one hears and chants or remembers this narration in the morning and evening with great attention, he certainly becomes learned, experienced in understanding the Vedic hymns, and expert in self-realization
- If one hears of the characteristics of Prthu Maharaja and is a brahmana, he becomes perfectly qualified with brahminical powers; if he is a ksatriya, he becomes a king of the world; if he is a vaisya, he becomes a master of other vaisyas and many animals
- If one hears one day, one minute, one second this vibration of chanting, it will act someday. Therefore this is the best welfare activity in the human society
- If one hears rasa-lila from authoritative source, the result will be that he will be promoted to the transcendental platform of loving service to Krsna
- If one hears the activities of the Lord at the house of Advaita Acarya, he will certainly very soon attain the riches of love of Krsna
- If one hears the pastimes of Lord Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu as described in Sri Caitanya-caritamrta, I (Krsnadasa Kaviraja Gosvami) wash his lotus feet and drink the water
- If one hears with faith and love these pastimes concerning Lord Caitanya’s meeting with Sarvabhauma Bhattacarya, he very soon is freed from the net of speculation and fruitive activity and attains the shelter of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu's lotus feet
- If one immediately follows the principles of Sri Caitanya by associating with His devotees, lusty desires for material enjoyment will vanish from one’s heart. Then one will be able to understand the meaning of SB and the purpose of listening to it
- If one in pure transcendental love for Krsna wants personal association and the touch of His transcendental body, he can also gain that benediction from His hand
- If one in this human form of life does not understand the Supreme Personality of Godhead and His abode, it is to be understood that he is very much affected by the influence of external nature
- If one indulges in hearing the Sankarite Sariraka-bhasya, he will certainly be bereft of all real knowledge
- If one indulges in illicit sexual relations with another man's wife, that activity is considered identical with having sex with one's mother. This act is most sinful
- If one indulges in Mayavada philosophy, he gradually falls down from the platform of devotional service
- If one interferes with the allotments of others, he is a thief. We should not accept more than what we actually need. Therefore, if by chance we get an abundance of money, we should always consider that it belongs to the Supreme Personality of Godhead
- If one is able to do nothing more, he can simply bow down before the Lord and His representative and drink the caranamrta, the water which has washed the lotus feet of the Lord (Krsna) or His devotee
- If one is able to lie down on the floor, then why should one endeavor to get a good bedstead or soft cushion to lie on
- If one is actually very serious in searching for Krsna, Krsna is everywhere. Andantara-stha-paramanu-cayantara-stham govindam adi-purusam tam aham bhajami - Bs. 5.35
- If one is an administrator, statesman, warrior, politician, etc., then one should try to establish the Lord's supremacy in statesmanship. Fight for the cause of the Lord as Sri Arjuna did
- If one is attached to a particular demigod, one is promoted to the abode of that demigod; if one is attached to the Pitas, or forefathers, one is promoted to their planet
- If one is attached to the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Krsna, one is promoted to the abode of Lord Krsna
- If one is engaged in the advancement of spiritual knowledge, there will be so many insults and much dishonor from others. This is expected because material nature is so constituted. BG 1972 purports
- If one is engaged in the service of the Deity, there is a good chance of always seeing Him (Krsna), twenty-four hours a day
- If one is fortunate enough to have received the knowledge in the transcendental disciplic succession, surely he will have the chance to understand the mystery of the Lord and that of the Srimad-Bhagavatam, the sound incarnation of the Lord
- If one is in goodness, he is promoted to the higher systems; if in passion, he remains in the middle systems; and if in ignorance, he is pushed down to the lower species of life
- If one is intelligent he will associate with those who are trying to elevate themselves to the platform of self-realization through one of the various forms of yoga
- If one is not a qualified brahmana, he is not expert in studying the Vedic literatures
- If one is not born, how he can die? There is no question of death. Death is for a thing which has got a birth. If one has no birth, there is no question of death
- If one is not factually detached from material activities but still proclaims himself advanced in devotional service, he is cheating. No one will be happy to see such behavior
- If one is not further raised to the platform of actual service to the Lord, he is not considered to be on the platform of transcendental mellow
- If one is not particularly careful, by watering the plant of devotional service one will instead nourish the weeds described above, which will then grow very luxuriantly and hamper one’s progress
- If one is not purified by the process of the seed-giving ceremony, or garbhadhana-samskara, he is immediately classified amongst the sudras because only the sudras do not undergo this purificatory process
- If one is not very inquisitive about self-realization, one need not approach a spiritual master simply to make a show of discipleship

- If one is situated in KC, then that path is guaranteed for his elevation to the perfectional stage. If one does not take to this path of self-realization, then he is surely to be conducted by the influence of the modes of nature. BG 1972 purports
- If one is thinking that he's happy materially, he's a fool. Nobody can be happy. This is the place for distress
- If one is unhappy to see the distress of other living beings and happy to see their happiness, his religious principles are appreciated as imperishable by exalted persons who are considered pious and benevolent
- If one jumps at once to the platform of understanding Krsna's rasa-lila or vrndavana-lila, he'll be misled
- If one keeps a large amount of cash with him, he is always anxious about keeping it properly. Thus if one discusses the disadvantages of accumulating wealth, he can naturally give up business without difficulty
- If one keeps himself in Krsna consciousness, he gradually prepares his next body, a spiritual body, which will carry him immediately to Krsnaloka, Krsna's abode, and he will become happy living there perpetually and blissfully
- If one keeps himself spiritually fit and thinks of himself as an eternal servant of the Supreme Lord, he will be successful at the time he has to give up the material body
- If one keeps his bodily relationships within this material world and poses himself as a great yogi, he is not a bona fide yogi
- If one keeps oneself clean in this way and always engages in devotional service, his life will be a success, and there will be no scarcity of anything he wants
- If one kills many thousands of animals in a professional way so that other people can purchase the meat to eat, one must be ready to be killed in a similar way in his next life and in life after life
- If one kills poor animals to satisfy the temporary whims of this body, one does not know that he will suffer in his next birth, for such a sinful miscreant must go to hell and suffer the results of his actions - SB 10.10.10
- If one kind of trouble goes, another quickly follows. India, politically free, is faced with difficulties that are no less serious than the troubles under foreign rule
- If one knows factually how God is great, then naturally he becomes a surrendered soul and engages himself in the devotional service of the Lord. BG 1972 purports

- If one makes a little more progress, then instead of a cloud he sees the hill and something green. When one actually approaches the hill, he will see many varieties
- If one makes an analytical study of these twenty-four (elements) subjects, then he can very well understand the field of activity. BG 1972 purports
- If one makes friendship with Krsna, one will never be cheated, and he will get all help needed. Arousing this consciousness of the conditioned soul is the greatest service, not posing oneself as a great friend of another living entity
- If one makes his life successful in devotional service and then preaches devotional service in other parts of the world, people throughout the world will actually benefit
- If one makes it his point to remain in a comfortable home life, for him, either by speculation or by teaching or by meeting, he'll never develop Krsna consciousness
- If one man is turned by this, the movement is successful. So there is good prospect, good hope. And you all combine together, try. Push this movement more and more
- If one meekly and submissively hears about the activities of the Lord from a realized soul, he will be able to conquer the Supreme Personality of Godhead, who is unconquerable by any other process
- If one misses this opportunity (attach mind to Krsna), one does not know where he is going, how long he will remain in the cycle of birth and death, and when he will again achieve the human form of life and the chance to return home, back to Godhead
- If one mistakenly considers his position to be equal to that of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, he becomes contaminated by the doctrine of nonduality, and his efforts in transcendental life are rendered ineffective
- If one must ask for benediction, he must ask (the Lord) for unlimited benediction
- If one neglects his duties, however, he becomes a transgressor and a candidate for a hellish condition
- If one neglects the instructions of the six Gosvamis and yet becomes a so-called devotee of Radha-Krsna, he merely criticizes the real devotees of Radha-Krsna
- If one never for a moment forgets Krsna, he is safe even if by chance he falls down by committing sinful acts
- If one obtains a human body in the land of Bharata-varsa, with clear sensory organs with which to execute the sankirtana-yajna, but in spite of this opportunity he does not take to devotional service, he is certainly like liberated forest animals & birds
- If one of them becomes intelligent enough, by the mercy of the spiritual master and the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Krsna, then he begins his devotional life in Krsna consciousness
- If one of these three was not present, He would meet the others. That was His regular practice
- If one offends a great personality, the Supreme Personality of Godhead does not excuse one, although the great personalities themselves might not take offense
- If one offends an exalted personality, especially the Supreme Personality of Godhead, one certainly becomes most abominable; bereft of the results of pious activities, one must fall down like Ravana and other demons
- If one offers charity to a brahmana who is not a devotee, the Lord does not accept; but if something is offered to a devotee, the Lord accepts. In other words, whatever a person wishes to offer the Lord may be given to His devotees
- If one offers Me with love and devotion a leaf, a flower, fruit a water, I will accept it. BG 9.26 - 1972
- If one offers oblations with faith and devotion - either to the lotus feet of Lord Visnu or to His representative in Pitrloka, Aryama - one's forefathers will attain material bodies to enjoy whatever material enjoyment is due them
- If one only chants, with some slight faith, the holy names of Lord Caitanya and Nityananda, very quickly he is cleansed of all offenses. Thus as soon as he chants the Hare Krsna maha-mantra, he feels the ecstasy of love for God
- If one only engages in Deity worship in the temple and does not consider other living entities, then he is in the lowest grade of devotional service
- If one participates in a discussion of devotees, he is both materially and spiritually benefited. The speaker and the audience are both benefited, and the karmis and jnanis are benefited
- If one performs activities for the satisfaction of the Supreme Personality, the yajna-purusa, his work does not produce reactions, whereas karmis, who act for themselves, are bound by the reactions of their work
- If one performs even a little devotional service, it is not lost. One may come and join this Krsna consciousness movement, render some service and after a while fall down
- If one performs his duties very nicely in the material world, God is obliged to give one the desired result
- If one performs kirtana, chanting, one will be able to think of Krsna. One may think, "I danced for two hours and chanted Hare Krsna. What is the meaning of this?" This is smarana, thinking of Krsna
- If one performs sankirtana-yajna by chanting Hare Krsna, there is no need to arrange elaborate paraphernalia for the prescribed sacrificial ceremonies recommended in the Vedas
- If one performs the sraddha ceremony of oblations to the forefathers on the Ekadasi tithi, then the performer, the forefathers for whom the sraddha is observed, and the purohita, or the family priest who encourages the ceremony, all go to hell
- If one person who is not devotee, if he is praised as very exalted, so wherefrom these praising words are coming? Sva-vid-varahostra-kharaih. Such praising comes from the persons who are like dogs
- If one places himself in artificial light, it may flicker and go out. Krsna is just like sunlight. Where He is present there is no question of darkness and ignorance. The wise men, the mahatmas, understand this
- If one places himself in the position of a servant of God, it is to be understood that all contamination of his material attachment has been burned by blazing fires of transcendental ecstasy. It is not necessary to manifest a blazing fire externally
- If one pollutes his Krsna consciousness by offending a brahmana or a Vaisnava, one cannot revive it until one properly atones for the sin by pleasing the offended Vaisnava or brahmana
- If one poses himself a great devotee but does not follow the principles of sruti, smrti, purana and Narada Pancaratra, and the rules and regulation thereof, then his presentation as great devotee is simply disturbance
- If one poses himself as an acarya but does not have an attitude of servitorship to the Lord, he must be considered an offender, and this offensive attitude disqualifies him from being an acarya
- If one possesses more and more, a benediction itself may become a curse, for just as achieving material opulence in this material world requires great strength and endeavor, maintaining it also requires great endeavor
- If one practices bhakti-yoga by taking shelter of Vasudeva, Krsna, simply by hearing Vasudeva speak about Himself, one can understand everything about Him. Indeed, one can understand Him completely - samagram
- If one practices devotional service by always keeping Krsna within the core of his heart (man-manah), he immediately becomes a first-class yogi. Furthermore, keeping Krsna within the mind is not a difficult task for the devotee
- If one practices devotional service from the beginning of his life, surely he will return home, back to Godhead, without a doubt - asamsaya
- If one practices eating prasada, even if there is some little sinful activity involved, one becomes free from the results of sinful acts
- If one practices Krsna consciousness by chanting the maha-mantra, Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna, Krsna Krsna, Hare Hare, Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare, he will be quickly helped
- If one prefers to give up the work of a ksatriya and take up the occupation of a brahmana, he is not assured that in the occupation of a brahmana there are no unpleasant duties. BG 1972 purports
- If one prefers to remain in the dark well of household life because of uncontrolled senses he becomes increasingly entangled by ropes of affection for his wife, children, servants, house money. Such a person cannot attain liberation from material bondage
- If one prepares oneself one may go to the higher planetary systems, or similarly one may go to the Pitrlokas. There one may meet one's forefathers, if they have been eligible to go there
- If one pretends to be a devotee of the Lord but does not understand the difference between dry speculative knowledge and knowledge of the Supreme Absolute Truth, then such a person's devotion borders on impersonalism and is rank with cheap sentimentalism
- If one properly follows the instructions of Bhagavad-gita, one can be freed from all miseries and anxieties in this life, and one's next life will be spiritual
- If one properly understands God, he can understand any subject matter very nicely
- If one purposefully falls victim to sense gratification, he has to be punished, at least for one lifetime, like Bharata Maharaja
- If one purposely continues this professional begging, he is supposed to be dead while breathing, or, according to another interpretation, such a man of falsity should be killed while still breathing
- If one puts into the bondage of karmic activity his disciple, son or citizen who is bereft of transcendental vision, how will one profit? It is like leading a blind man to a dark well and causing him to fall in
- If one puts letters in postboxes authorized by the general post office, the function of carrying letters is performed without a doubt. Similarly, the arca-murti can also deliver the same unlimited potency of the Lord as when He is personally present
- If one quits his body at the end of life chanting Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna, Krsna Krsna, Hare Hare - Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare, he certainly reaches one of the spiritual planets
- If one reaches the transcendental platform of understanding the Supreme Personality of Godhead, he becomes well acquainted with everything, material and spiritual. This is confirmed in another Vedic mantra: tam eva viditvati mrtyum eti
- If one reads Bhagavad-gita sincerely and seriously, then all of the reactions of his past misdeeds will not react upon him. BG 1972 Introduction
- If one reads Bhagavad-gita very sincerely and with all seriousness, then by the grace of the Lord the reactions of his past misdeeds will not act upon him
- If one reads one line of this literature, although it is presented in broken language, but if he simply hears there is "Krsna," then his sinful activities immediately vanquish
- If one reads the description of this external form of the Lord with great faith or if one hears about it or explains it to others to propagate bhagavata-dharma, his faith & devotion in spiritual consciousness, Krsna consciousness, will gradually increase
- If one realizes that everything belongs to Krsna, one becomes the greatest mahatma
- If one realizes that the individual soul is subordinate to the supreme spirit soul, he achieves self-realization
- If one really wants to attain the goal of human life, he should associate with devotees of the Krsna consciousness movement because it is the only movement that teaches one how to develop love of God
- If one receives his guru properly and seats him comfortably, and if the guru is pleased with one's behavior, the guru can speak very frankly and freely, and this will be very beneficial to the student
- If one receives the advantage of instructions from saintly persons and forgets the importance of material desires, one is automatically purified
- If one receives the dust of the lotus feet of a manasvi, a great devotee, he certainly returns home, back to Godhead
- If one recites this narration while offering oblations to the pitas and demigods, especially during the sraddha ceremony, the demigods and inhabitants of Pitrloka will be extremely pleased with him and bestow upon him the fulfillment of all desires
- If one refuses to act under the direction of the Supreme Lord, then he is compelled to act by the modes in which he is situated. Everyone is under the spell of a particular combination of the modes of nature and is acting in that way. BG 1972 purports
- If one regularly chants 333,333 names daily for a month (30 days) and then chants ten more names, he will thus chant ten million names. In this way a devotee worships the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Such worship is called yajna
- If one regularly executes such devotional service (regular execution of the regulative principles mentioned in the sastras, as ordered and directed by the spiritual master), he will certainly attain perfection in due course of time
- If one regularly sees the Supreme Personality of Godhead in the temple, one will gradually be disinfected of all material desires simply by visiting the temple and seeing the Deity
- If one rejects spiritual master, he becomes a great sinner, most sinful
- If one releases a conditioned soul or imprisoned person according to religious principles, he himself is also released from material bondage by the Supreme Personality of Godhead
- If one remains a victim of the so-called beauty of his wife, his family life is nothing but a dark well. Hitvatma-patam grham andha-kupam. Existence in such a dark well is certainly suicidal
- If one remains always a victim to the sinful reaction and if he is habituated to do that, so artificially this kind of confession in the church or giving some bribe to the bhattacarya, what is the meaning of this? It is practical question
- If one remains idle, then it will be devil's workshop. Immediately maya will dictate - Do this, do this nonsense, do that nonsense, do that nonsense
- If one remains in shadow, he cannot enjoy the facilities offered by light, and if one remains in light, he cannot be disturbed by the darkness of shadow
- If one remains in the bodily conception, one must rot within this material world, and his life will be a failure
- If one remains kriya-hina even after being purified by initiation - in other words, if one fails to actually apply the principles of purity in his life - he remains an unpurified mleccha or yavana
- If one remains unwise, not fully in knowledge, he hesitates, "Oh, why shall I surrender to Krsna? Krsna is as like me; He is also a man. Maybe a powerful man, a very learned man." No. Krsna is the Supreme Personality of Godhead
- If one remains with a devotee, he will not forget Krsna. That is the advantage. Just like when you go, people address you, "Hare Krsna!" Oh, it is very great benefit. Automatically they chant Hare Krsna
- If one remembers in the morning the narration of this fight between Lord Krsna and Lord Siva and takes pleasure in the victory of Lord Krsna, he will never experience defeat anywhere in his struggle of life
- If one remembers Visnu always, even though one is disturbed by many bad elements, one can be protected without a doubt
- If one renders a little devotional service, he does not fall down into the lower species but again attains a human form. There are 8,400,000 species, but the fallen devotee is guaranteed a human life

- If one seeks the favor of a devotee instead of directly asking favors from the Supreme Personality of Godhead, one is very easily successful
- If one sees a lotus flower, one can immediately remember Krsna. For example, if one loves one's child and one sees any of the child's garments, or his shoes or a small ship or any of his playthings, one will immediately remember the child
- If one sees or understands the Supreme Personality of Godhead, the other two features of the Absolute Truth - namely impersonal Brahman and localized Paramatma - are also automatically understood
- If one seriously accepts the lotus feet of the Lord, he is purified by the grace of God and by the grace of the Lord's servant. This is confirmed by Sukadeva Gosvami: ye 'nye ca papa yad-apasrayasrayah sudhyanti tasmai prabhavisnave namah - SB 2.4.18
- If one seriously desires to return home, back to Godhead, one must therefore become strong enough by pleasing the spiritual master, for thus one gets the weapon with which to conquer the enemy, and one also gets the grace of Krsna
- If one seriously engages in devotional service to Lord Vasudeva, jnana and vairagya are automatically manifest in one's person. There is no doubt of this
- If one seriously engages in Krsna consciousness, that is the highest perfectional stage. All Krsna conscious activities are on the highest perfectional level of human life
- If one seriously makes a comparative study of the two gifts (of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu and so-called philanthropic and humanitarian workers), certainly if he is at all sober he will give the greatest credit to Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu
- If one sets fire to unwanted grass and creepers in a field, they will all be burned. Similarly, by the process of austerity and penance, one can liquidate all sinful activities and become purified
- If one shows the symptoms of being a brahmana, ksatriya, vaisya or sudra, as described above, even if he has appeared in a different class, he should be accepted according to those symptoms of classification
- If one simply adheres to mundane arguments and therefore does not accept this, he will boil in the hell of Kumbhipaka. For him there is no deliverance

- If one simply chants the Hare Krsna mantra and does not commit sinful activities and offenses, one’s life is purified, and thus one comes to the fifth stage of perfection, or engagement in the loving service of the Lord - prema pum-artho mahan

- If one somehow or other remembers the holy name of Narayana, Krsna or Rama at the end of life, he immediately achieves the transcendental result of going back home, back to Godhead
- If one sometimes engages in devotional service and sometimes strives for sense gratification, his service will be interrupted. A pure devotee, therefore, should have no desire other than to serve Krsna

- If one suffers due to his past fruitive activities, he cannot counteract his suffering by performing auspicious activities
- If one supplies water to the root of a tree, all the parts of the tree, such as the leaves and branches, are automatically satisfied, and if one supplies food to the stomach, all the limbs of the body - the hands, legs, fingers, etc. - are nourished
- If one surrenders fully unto Krsna - Krsna is Mukunda - then he is no longer any more indebted to all these obligations. He is immune. At one stroke he becomes liquidated from all obligation

- If one thinks of Krsna enviously, simply because of thinking of Krsna he becomes free from all sinful reactions and thus becomes a pure devotee
- If one thinks that "I am this body," then he's no better than sa eva go-kharah. The animals, they also think like that, - I am this body

- If one thinks that a pure Vaisnava preaching the bhakti cult all over the world is a member of a particular caste or material division of society, he is considered a naraki, a candidate for hellish life
- If one thinks that he is above consulting anyone else, including a spiritual master, he is at once an offender at the lotus feet of the Lord. Such an offender can never go back to Godhead
- If one thinks that the body of a pure devotee is material, he is an offender, for that is a vaisnava-aparadha. In this connection one should consult Srila Sanatana Gosvami’s Brhad-bhagavatamrta - 1.3.45 and 2.3.139
- If one thinks that the form of Lord Jagannatha is an idol made of wood, he immediately brings ill fortune into his life

- If one thinks, "I cannot protect myself from the attack of sex desire," then let him be married. That is prescribed. But don't have illicit sex. If you want a girl, if you want a boy, get married and live in Krsna consciousness
- If one thinks, "Oh, I am big scholar. I am this. I am that," you are rascal. You have to simply carry the message of Krsna. But for your understanding you can make research work
- If one thinks, "This is my car," and is very attached to it, he suffers more when it is wrecked than a person who thinks, "It can be repaired, or I can leave it." It is a question of mental absorption
- If one thinks, "This mountain is the bone of Krsna," or if one thinks of the vast Pacific Ocean as Krsna's navel, one is in Krsna consciousness. Similarly, one may think of the trees and plants as the hairs on Krsna's body
- If one thoroughly studies the different descriptions of the opulences and expansions of Krsna's energy, then one can understand without any doubt the position of Lord Krsna and can fix his mind in the worship of Krsna without deviation. BG 1972 purports
- If one transgresses the laws of a man-made government, he may escape being killed by the state, but one cannot escape the laws of God. A killer of any animal must be killed in his next life by the same animal. This is the law of nature
- If one transgresses the laws of etiquette, people make fun of him, and thus he is vanquished in both this world and the next
- If one tries he can also return home, back to Godhead. This prowess is given by the Supreme Personality of Godhead as the Supersoul
- If one tries to advance by other means - by karma-yoga or jnana-yoga - one will fall down, but if one is fixed in bhakti, he never falls down
- If one tries to enter higher planets by mechanical means, instant death is assured, for the body cannot stand the radical changes in atmosphere
- If one tries to explain the Supreme impersonally, one distorts the real meaning of Brahman
- If one tries to explain the Vedic literature in a different way, he is indulging in imagination. Any interpretation of the self-evident Vedic version is simply imaginary
- If one tries to feed his eyes or ears independently, the result is only havoc. Simply by supplying food to the stomach, we satisfy all of the senses
- If one tries to follow in the footsteps of the gopis, one may become situated in the highest stage of transcendental love
- If one tries to mingle the worship of Yogamaya with that of Mahamaya, considering them one and the same, he does not really show very high intelligence
- If one tries to nullify the conclusions of the Vedas by accepting an unauthorized scripture or so-called scripture, it will be very hard for him to come to the right conclusion about the Absolute Truth
- If one tries to separate the Absolute Personality of Godhead from His holy name or His transcendental form, qualities and pastimes, thinking them to be material, that is offensive
- If one tries to understand Krsna, as He is, not by fiction, not by speculation, not by so-called scholarly, foolish commentation, but Krsna should be understood as He is. Then, that is right Krsna consciousness
- If one tries to understand the discourses given by the sat, or pure devotees, those instructions will be very pleasing to the ear and appealing to the heart
- If one tries to understand Vedanta philosophy and the Upanisads without studying Srimad-Bhagavatam, one will be bewildered and, construing a different meaning, will gradually become an atheist or an impersonalist
- If one tries to write under superior authority, he becomes purified
- If one true Vaisnava goes any place in the world, then the spiritual instincts of the more advanced souls he comes into contact with will be awakened, and they will automatically be attracted
- If one unconsciously, without any knowledge, does something wrong, that is excused. But they do willfully. They know it is wrong, still they do it
- If one understands Bhagavad-gita, one can proceed to Srimad-Bhagavatam, and if one advances further, one may study Caitanya-caritamrta
- If one understands fully that by simply serving Krsna, simply becoming Krsna conscious, I become fully qualified in everything, then why not accept it

- If one understands that we are small particles of the Supreme Lord and our business is to dovetail our consciousness with His consciousness, that is perfect Krsna consciousness
- If one understands the philosophy that as a living spirit soul he has an affinity for neither suffering nor enjoyment, then he is considered to be a liberated person
- If one understands the purpose of Krsna's coming to this earth and performing His activities, one is immediately liberated. This liberation is the purpose of the creation and Krsna's descent upon the surface of the earth
- If one understands the story of King Puranjana and understands how, by sexual attraction, Puranjana became a female in his next life, one will also understand the process of transmigration
- If one understands the Supreme Lord through devotional service with faith in the disciplic succession and then advances further, he awakens his natural love for God, and then his success in life is assured
- If one understands the truth of KC and seriously desires to attain transcendental knowledge for the perfection of life, he can accept a spiritual master from any social status, provided the spiritual master is fully conversant with the science of Krsna
- If one understands the Vaisnava philosophy, which explains how He is present everywhere and how He acts everywhere, to worship the Supreme or to realize Him is not at all difficult. Realization of the Lord is possible only in the association of devotees
- If one understands this (fourteenth) chapter (of Bhagavad-gita) through the process of philosophical speculation, he will come to an understanding of devotional service. BG 1972 purports

- If one wants material happiness like the King of heaven, he can derive that benediction from the hand of Krsna; if one wants liberation from the pangs of material existence, he can also get that benediction from the hand of Krsna
- If one wants peace of mind and tranquillity in society, he must accept the fact that the real enjoyer is the Supreme Personality of Godhead
- If one wants relief from the miserable condition of material life, one must voluntarily give up his lusty relationship with his wife; otherwise there is no question of self-realization
- If one wants success in everything, one must be backed by these three principles - knowledge, strength and activity
- If one wants success in life, he should immediately understand from the right sources what his self-interest is and how he should mold his life in spiritual consciousness
- If one wants the body of a hog so that one may eat stool, Krsna will give one that kind of body also
- If one wants the favor of the goddess of fortune, mother Laksmi, because she is by nature bhagavat-para one must keep her with Narayana
- If one wants the uncontaminated pleasure of blissful life, he must engage himself in the transcendental loving service of the Lord
- If one wants thousands and millions of dollars, become like a Rockefeller or Ford, that will be great a estimation of these common materialistic man, but from spiritual point of view, such things have no value
- If one wants to achieve success at the end of his life, the process of remembering Krsna is essential. Therefore one should constantly, incessantly chant the maha-mantra
- If one wants to achieve the highest success in life, one must accept Bhagavad-gita as spoken by the Supreme Lord. By accepting Bhagavad-gita in this way, all of human society can become perfect and happy
