- In this age Kali-yuga, ninety-nine percent, or at least ninety percent, they live by serving others. Therefore it is said, "In the Kali, in this age, almost everyone is sudra." There is no brahmin, no ksatriya, no vaisya

- Just suitable, for the age, is the method recommended by Lord Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu in terms of the sastra. Such a method requires no expenditure at all and yet can award more benefit than other expensive methods of yajna performances
- Just to deliver all the sinful persons of this age by propagating the chanting of the holy name, Lord Krsna and Lord Balarama have advented as Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu and Nityananda Prabhu. Jagai and Madhai are evidence of Their success

- Kalau sudra sambhava. In this age, everyone is practically a sudra seeking a master. But let him seek a master. Krsna is prepared. He says, sarva-dharman parityaja mam ekam
- Kalau sudra-sambhavah. Kalau means in this age, this iron age, almost everyone is a sudra. It is very difficult to find out really brahmana, ksatriya. Vaisyas maybe there are. But mostly sudras
- Kalau, in this age, most, major portion of the population will be sudras. Sudras means fourth-class men. Fourth-class men means sudra-karma svabhava-jam
- Kalau, in this age, you cannot find a man perfectly purified or anyway. That is not possible. Therefore you chant Hare Krsna, and that will help you, the process of purification
- Kali-yuga is not very good age, simply faults. We have several times discussed that in this age, people's duration of life, mercifulness, bodily strength and so many things, eight kinds of things, will be reduced
- Kali-yuga means the age of disagreement. Nobody agrees. Even husband, wife does not agree, what to speak of others. The father, son does not agree. Nobody agrees with anyone. This is the age like that
- King Prthu's activities took place in Satya-yuga, and in this age this practice of yoga is misunderstood by fallen souls who are not capable of practicing anything. Consequently the sastras enjoin: kalau nasty eva nasty eva nasty eva gatir anyatha
- Knowing that the unfortunate human beings of this age would misunderstand even His own words, Lord Krsna again appeared - this time in the form of Caitanya Mahaprabhu
- Krsna and the sound vibration "Krsna" are nondifferent, so if one loudly vibrates Hare Krsna, he will be able to think of Krsna immediately. This process of chanting is the best process of self-realization in this age
- Krsna asked everyone to give up all kinds of religious rites & simply surrender unto Him. It is said that this Age of Kali is three-fourths devoid of religious principles. Hardly one fourth of the principles of religion are still observed in this age
- Krsna consciousness is being distributed freely everywhere, yet not everyone takes to it, especially in this age of Kali. Because of this, Srimad-Bhagavatam characterizes people in the age of Kali as unfortunate
- Krsna has appeared as the son of mother Saci, and Balarama has appeared as Nityananda, and Their business is to deliver all fallen souls, especially in this age, Kali-yuga
- Krsna is advaya-jnana, so in this age Krsna has descended in His sound vibration form: kali yuga nama rupe krsnavatara (CC Adi 17.22). This age . . . Because these fallen men in this age, they are . . . They have no qualification
- Krsna is so kind, especially in this age, that He appears in the transcendental vibration of His holy name

- Large amounts of wealth are necessary to perform sacrifices. In former ages, tons of food were offered in a fire as a sacrifice, but this is not possible in this age. Therefore sankirtana-yajna, the chanting of the Hare Krsna maha-mantra, is recommended
- Life has become so changed that in this age actually what is called yoga, it is not possible. First condition is that ekaki yata-cittatma: he should remain alone, he should perform yoga system alone, not in . . . with friends and many other yogis. No
- Lord Caitanya appeared with the sentiment of Radha. He preached the dharma of this age - the chanting of the holy name and pure love of God

- Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu, the chief exponent of Krsna consciousness in this age, has explained that the living entities in various planetary systems all over the universe are rotating in different species of life
- Lord Caitanya's name is Patita-pavana. In this age everyone is fallen, everyone is fallen, and Caitanya Mahaprabhu is called "the deliverer of the fallen," patita-pavana
- Lord Caitanya, has appeared in Kali-yuga to shower His kindness upon the afflicted souls. The extent of the Supreme Lord's mercy is decidedly more generous in this age than in any other
- Lord Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu and His subsequent followers exhibited expert dexterity in this connection. By following the same method, one can bring the materialistic men of this age of quarrel into order for peaceful life and transcendental realization
- Low-class people do not know who is God, where is God, what is His principle, why does He want to give us religion. They are so ignorant, especially in this age, they do not believe in these things at all. Very awkward position

- Maya, or the influence of nature, in this age especially, it is very, very strong, and majority of people are therefore addicted to this sinful life: illicit sex, meat-eating, gambling and intoxication
- Mayavadi sannyasis have become so degraded that there is a section of them who eat everything, just like hogs and dogs. It is such degraded sannyasa that is prohibited in this age
- Meditation should be carried on with the chanting of a mantra. Chanting of the Hare Krsna mantra is the easiest process of meditation in this age
- Meditation, if you meditate individually, you will have to try so many things, but when I loudly chant Hare Krsna, your meditation immediately attracted. This is the easiest method of meditation in this age. Chant
- Modern heads of state are rogues & thieves who plunder the citizens instead of giving them protection. Rogues & thieves plunder without regard for law, but in this age of Kali, as stated in Srimad-Bhagavatam, the lawmakers themselves plunder the citizens
- My dear King, although Kali-yuga is full of faults, there is still 1 good quality about this age. It is that simply by chanting the Hare Krsna maha-mantra, one can become free from material bondage & be promoted to the transcendental kingdom - SB 12.3.51

- Naimisaranya is a very famous and sacred forest in northern India, where all the rsis, the sages, generally go to aid their spiritual advancement of life. This Srimad-Bhagavatam was first discussed in this age in that forest
- Naisthika-brahmacari - throughout the life, celibacy. But that is not possible in this age, neither it is possible to become a brahmacari. The time is changed, this age. Therefore you can control your lusty desire by Krsna consciousness
- Narayana-parayana is not very easy job. Muktanam api siddhanam kotisv api maha-mune. But this is the special mercy of Caitanya Mahaprabhu, that He is compassionate. Seeing the fallen souls of this age, He is distributing krsna-prema so cheaply
- Narottama dasa Thakura has forbidden us to go to such places of pilgrimage because in this age, the times having so changed, a sincere person may have a different impression on seeing the behavior of the present residents of the pilgrimage sites
- Neither it is recommended in the scriptures to give more stress on temple building. The best thing is in this age to propagate this Sankirtana movement
- No one in this age can attain the perfectional stage of yoga, but people indulge in practicing sitting postures, which is more or less a gymnastic process
- No one knows the length of his life. It is calculated that in this age the human body may live up to a hundred years
- No other means of spiritual realization is as effective in this age of quarrel and hypocrisy as the maha-mantra: Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna, Krsna Krsna, Hare Hare/ Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare
- No other method will help you - yoga, karma, jnana, nothing. Bhakti-yoga is always strong, especially in this age, Kali-yuga. Therefore it is said, kalau nasty eva nasty eva nasty eva, especially
- Not only in this age, but formerly also, there were many sages who tried to invent their own systems of religion without reference to devotional service to Supreme Lord, but there cannot be any religious principle without devotional service to the Lord
- Now, in this age, called Kali-yuga, the estimate is 100 years. But gradually, as the Kali-yuga progresses, our duration of life will decrease still further. This is the so-called progress of our modern civilization
- Now, let us calculate our duration of life. In this age it is said that we can live at most one hundred years
- Nowadays people are suffering for want of sufficient food grains, and in the yajna tons and thousands of mounds of food grains are offered in the fire. That is good. But there is no food grains, there is no ghee. That is not possible in this age
- Nowadays people are very much inclined to the meditational process, which is not practical in this age. BG 1972 purports
- Nowadays they are educated, but they must have a good service. That means he's a sudra. Without finding a master, his education has no value. So therefore in the sastra it is said, - In this age, Kali-yuga, everyone is sudra

- One can remain in his own position. No one has to change his position, especially in this age of variegated difficulties
- One cannot achieve the results of sacrifice unless one observes the strict regulations. In this age there is practically no facility for performing sacrifices in strict discipline
- One old lady, she used to come to my class. So she had a son. So I asked, "Why don't you get your son married?" "Oh, if he can maintain a wife, I have no objection." Just to maintain a wife is a great job in this age
- One thing I can see very practical, that in this age, Dampatye ratim eva hi, husband and wife's relation will depend on the strength of sex. These are described there. Svikara eva udvahe (SB 12.2.5): marriage will be performed simply by agreement
- One thing I can see very practical, that in this age, lavanyam kesa-dharanam (SB 12.2.6) - people will think that by keeping long hairs they will become very beautiful. That is stated there
- One who has accepted the simple method recommended for this age, he is called the intelligent. That is required. That much intelligence we must have
- Only sacrifice recommended in this age is the chanting of the Hare Krsna mantra because in this age it is not possible to accumulate the needed funds for performing sacrifices, not to speak of finding expert brahmanas who can chant the mantras perfectly
- Our consciousness is developed. But because in this age, material world, we have no spiritual idea, so whatever power we have got in thinking, we are trying to increase artificially material way of life. The idle brain is a devil's workshop
- Our Krsna consciousness movement is directly giving this bhakti platform, by the mercy of Krsna, in the form of Lord Sri Krsna Caitanya Mahaprabhu. He is distributing Krsna immediately, because in this age people are so fallen
- Our philosophy is that we must apply in practical life what we believe. In this age no other philosophy or process of self-realization will be practical and effective as Krishna Consciousness is
- Our purpose, mission, is that people may become God conscious. And the process is in this age by chanting the holy name of God
- Out of so many years, if one could spare ten thousand years for the sake of austerity, he would be assured of success in his future life. This was not very astonishing. Although such a feat is impossible in this age, it was quite possible in Satya-yuga
- Owing to a gross material conception of things, most men in this age cannot imagine how such a small particle can become both so great and so small. So men look at the soul proper as wonderful either by constitution or by description. BG 1972 purports

- Pancaratrika-vidhi is especially meant for this age, that anyone who has little, a slight tendency to become a devotee, he should be given all chance
- Pancaratrika-vidhi, they accept, nobody is brahmin. Everyone is sudra - kalau sudra-sambhava. In this age, nobody is actually born of a brahmin family or ksatriya family. That is accepted. Because nobody is keeping up their standard
- Pariksit Maharaja was advised by Sukadeva Gosvami, My dear King, I've described so many faults. It is like the ocean of faults. But there is one boon also. That is special prerogative, special advantage of this age
- Participation in kirtana, in the public chanting of the names and glories of God, is very possible and is actually easy in this age; but as far as the meditational process of yoga is concerned, that is very difficult
- People are also characterized in this age as being unfortunate. They have a great deal of difficulty meeting the primary demands of life - eating, defending, mating, and sleeping - necessities which are met even by the animals
- People are so fallen that they cannot understand even A-B-C-D, what to speak of becoming graduate or postgraduate. In this age people are so fallen
- People claim to follow a certain type of religion, saying formally, "I am Hindu," "I am Muslim," "I am Christian," "I am this or that," but actually no one follows the principles enunciated in religious scriptures. This is the disease of this age
- People should take advantage of the injunctions in different sastras concerning sacrifices in this age and not create unnecessary disturbances during the sinful age of Kali
- People who are intelligent should try to satisfy Him by performing sankirtana-yajna. This is the easiest way to satisfy Lord Visnu in this age
- Personality of Godhead appeared as Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu and preached that in this age the Vedic activities cannot be systematically performed because people are so fallen
- Persons who have fallen, who have no hope for reaching the supreme destination, for them Lord Caitanya is the only hope. In this age, it is stated in authoritative scriptures, in this age the people are unfortunate
- Please chant sixteen rounds of japa mala daily and try to observe the regulative principles of no meat-eating, no intoxication, no gambling and no illicit sex life. These four are the pillars of sinful life, especially in this age of Kali Yuga
- Practically speaking, this process is not very easy in this age of Kali. In Srimad-Bhagavatam a description is given of the people of this age. Their duration of life is said to be very short
- Process of hearing in the association of the devotees is especially recommended in this age of quarrel (Kali)
- Putting different theories, philosophical speculations, will not solve the problems of the world, because not only during this age, but in all other ages also, there are different philosophers, different scriptures. That is the law of this material nature

- Sa gunan samatityaitan brahma-bhuyaya kalpate (BG 14.26). For every item in the yoga system there is a parallel activity in bhakti-yoga, but practice of bhakti-yoga is easier for this age. What was introduced by Lord Caitanya is not a new interpretation
- Sacrifice undertaken in this age as a matter of show may simply be a cheating process by the clever priestly order. But such a show of sacrifices cannot be effective at any stage
- Samskara-varjita means sudra. In this age nobody observes the samskaras. Therefore in the sastra it is said, kalau sudra-sambhavah (Skanda Purana). In the Kali-yuga almost every person is a sudra. Therefore there is so much chaos
- Sanatana Gosvami wanted to confirm the fact that Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu is the incarnation of Krsna for this age
- Sastra says, kalau sudra-sambhavah: "In this age, Kali-yuga, mostly all of them are sudras." No brahmin, no ksatriya, no vaisya, according to qualification
- Simply by bhakti, devotional service, one can become liberated from all contamination. That's a fact, especially in this age. Otherwise why the Europeans and Americans, they will join this movement and chant if there is no effective measure? Why?
- Simply by chanting the holy name of Krsna, everyone becomes free from all contamination of this age, mukta-sangah, param vrajet. And he becomes so purified that he becomes fit to go back to home, back to Godhead
- Simply by chanting the holy name of the Lord one advances perfectly in spiritual life. This is the best process for success in life. In other ages the chanting of the holy name is equally powerful but especially in this age Kali-yuga, it is most powerful
- Simply we can waste our time by so-called meditation, but real meditation is not achievable at the present age. In this age of Kali, simply by chanting Hare Krsna you can attain the perfection. So these are the prescription. We have to follow
- Since everyone in this age is an unintelligent, unfortunate and disturbed sudra, how can anyone understand the Absolute Truth or the aim of life
- So any process, if you make it perfect, then really you get peace. Peace. The only difference is that this yogic process as described in the Bhagavad-gita, it is not possible to be executed in this age. Therefore the next alternative is this hari-kirtana
- So the beginning of the process of yajna in this age can be very easily done by everyone, either he is family man or single man or anyone. Everyone has to cook for himself. Now, that cooking may be done for the Supreme Lord
- So this assembly, this Krsna consciousness movement, is an attempt to make people fortunate - from the unfortunate position, to become fortunate. Everyone is unfortunate, at least in this age
- So yoga practice is approved process, but it requires long, long period, time, and the time is not at all suitable in this age. And persons are differently cultured. They are eating everything, they are drinking everything, smoking
- Somebody, without undergoing so much austerities, penances and practice in yoga for controlling mind, the senses... It is not possible for the time being, in this age. People are so fallen that they cannot take to these processes
- Sometimes He (Krsna) descends as sound vibration, and sometimes He descends as a devotee. There are many different categories of avataras. In this present age Krsna has descended in His holy name, Hare Krsna - maha-mantra
- Sometimes horses, sometimes cows were offered. But in this age, Kali-yuga, they are forbidden because there is no such yajnika-brahmana. All kinds of sacrifices are forbidden in this age
- Sri Caitanya has also given us a nice weapon for this age - in this age, the weapon to drive away maya, is the chanting of the Hare Krsna mantra in pursuance of the associates of Lord Caitanya, such as Advaita Prabhu, Nityananda, Gadadhara and Srivasa
- Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu is certainly a great, uncommon devotee, but we cannot accept Him as an incarnation of Lord Visnu because, according to sastra, there is no incarnation in this Age of Kali
- Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu replied, "As in other ages an incarnation is accepted according to the directions of the sastras, in this Age of Kali an incarnation of God should be accepted in that way"
- Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu said, "In this Age of Kali, Krsna is manifest in two forms - wood and water. Thus, by enabling the conditioned souls to see the wood and bathe in the water, He helps them become liberated"
- Srila Advaita Acarya Prabhu desired that the Supreme Personality of Godhead advent Himself to deliver the fallen souls of this age
- Sukadeva Goswami says, this age is an ocean of faults, but there is one boon, in this age one gets the same result as was achieved in former ages through elaborate temple worship, costly sacrifices, or introspective meditation

- Temple is the only secluded place for this age. You cannot go in a secluded place in a forest
- That advantage of re-engagement in our original, spiritual business is given freely in this age: kirtanad eva krsnasya mukta-sangah param vrajet (SB 12.3.51) - Simply by chanting the Lord's holy name, one achieves spiritual liberation
- That is acceptable for everyone, especially in this age. One should engage himself in hearing from pure devotees about the activities of the Lord. That is considered the supreme benediction for mankind
- That is our concern: how the world is misdirected. That we are challenging, this Krsna consciousness. It is not that "East," "West," "you," "I." Everyone is a victim. Bhagavata says, prayena kalau asmin yuge janah: "In this age everyone is condemned"
- That is yoga-siddhi, not merely showing some gymnastic process. No. One must be... That yoga-siddhi, it is not possible in this age because people are not expert to practice this yoga system
- That kundalini process of yoga is not possible in this age. It is a very difficult process. So we should recommend not to waste your valuable time following something which is not possible to be done by you
- That was animal sacrifice. Sometimes horses, sometimes cows were offered. But in this age, Kali-yuga, they are forbidden because there is no such yajnika-brahmin
- The alternative system of bhakti-yoga is very easy not only in this age but in others as well, for this yoga system was advocated long ago by Lord Siva when he advised the princes, the sons of Maharaja Pracinabarhisat
- The best practice of yoga in this age is Krsna consciousness, which is not baffling. A Krsna conscious person is so happy in his occupation that he does not aspire after any other happiness. BG 1972 purports
- The best process or the easiest process, in this age especially, is to chant the Holy name of God. From this definition of religion as we find in the SB, the criterion test of religion is how it helps people to develop his dormant Love of God
- The best sacrifice recommended in this age is called sankirtana-yajna, the chanting of Hare Krsna (maha-mantra). This is the best and most inexpensive sacrifice; everyone can adopt it and derive benefit. BG 1972 purports
- The best way to perform yajna in this age is to spread the sankirtana movement all over the world
- The brahmanas are specifically restricted from accepting such service (which denies all the moral codes of the sastras). But in this age they will not only accept service, but they will do so even if it is of the meanest quality
- The business is: "They are claiming all kinds of sinful conditioned souls." Their only business is. Because in this age, Kali-yuga, you cannot find any perfectly pious man or saintly person. Everyone is addicted to so many sinful activities
- The conclusion of the sastra is kalau sudra-sambhavah: in this age of Kali, there are only sudras. Practically there is no brahmin, no ksatriya, no vaisyas. Maybe some vaisyas. But this is the position
- The devotee Prahlada says - My dear friends, this is the time, in this young age, to prosecute Krsna consciousness - SB 7.6
- The duration of life will be reduced. There are predictions in the scriptures that in this age, man's duration of life, his mercy and his intelligence are being reduced
- The entire world is in darkness without KC, and in this age people are so dull that they do not even know the difference between mukti (liberation) and bandha (bondage). If a human being does not know this difference, he is no better than an animal
- The golden Lord Krsna is Lord Caitanya, who is worshiped by intelligent men in this age. That is confirmed in SB by Garga Muni, who said that although the child Krsna was blackish, He also appears in three other colors - red, white and yellow
- The great sage Vyasadeva, who was fully equipped in knowledge, could see, through his transcendental vision, the deterioration of everything material, due to the influence of the age
- The Kalki avatara is the fierce incarnation who vanquishes the class of the atheists born in this age of Kali
- The Krsna consciousness movement is an attempt to make people fortunate. In this age, everyone is unfortunate (manda-bhagyah), but now we are trying to reverse the situation
- The language and tone used by Balarama are simply abusive, and due to the influence of this age it appears that the shoes befitting the feet want to rise to the top of the head, where the helmet is worn
- The main purpose of sannyasa life is to be in constant companionship with the Supreme Lord, either by thinking of Him within the heart or hearing of Him through aural reception. In this age, hearing is more important than thinking
- The marriage relationship is not for sex. Of course, that is the way in this age. So, such wife may marry for the second time, what can be done? Vedic marriage is not for sex
- The material world, especially in this age, everyone is thinking, "I am the greatest. Who can become more than me?" Ahankara-vimudhatma. This material world is like that. Everyone is thinking like that. Asuric pravrtti
- The mind focuses on the Supersoul in the heart and the life force is raised to the top of the head. In the Sixth Chapter (of BG) this process is described in detail. But as mentioned before, this practice is not practical in this age. BG 1972 purports
- The most regrettable characteristic of this age, is that man has forgotten God
- The only yajna recommended in this age is sankirtana-yajna. Yajnaih sankirtana-prayair yajanti hi sumedhasah - SB 11.5.32
- The path of bhakti-yoga is especially suitable for this age because it is the most direct method of God realization
- The people in general, they do not know what is the goal of life, and still they are leaders. That is the defect of the modern civilization. It is the defect of material world, but especially in this Kali-yuga, it is the most abominable, fallen age
- The people in this age are very short-lived and slow in understanding spiritual life
- The people of this age, they are so fallen, they have no prescribed duty. They are simply engaged like animals - eating, sleeping, sex and defense. That's all. Animal is engaged like that, eating, sleeping, sex, and defense
- The perfect process of performing yajnas, or sacrifice, to please the Supreme Lord Hari (the Personality of Godhead, who gets us free from all miseries of existence) is to follow the ways of Lord Sri Caitanya in this dark age of quarrel and dissension
- The population in this age, almost all of them, are manda - means bad or very slow - they do not understand what is the aim of life; therefore they are called manda. Because they do not understand their real interest of life, they can be called very bad
- The process is very simple. You haven't got to take difficult processes like yoga system or philosophical, speculative system. That is not possible in this age
- The process of centering attention on the unmanifested, the inconceivable, which is beyond the approach of the senses, should never be encouraged at any time, especially in this age. It is not advised by Lord Krsna. BG 1972 purports
- The process of chanting the holy name of the Lord is always superbly effective, but it is especially effective in this age of Kali
- The purpose of yajna is to satisfy the Supreme Personality of Godhead. In this age, as we have explained many times, the yajna of chanting the Hare Krsna maha-mantra is the only sacrifice that can satisfy the Supreme Lord
- The question was, "Should purificatory processes be revived?" They should be revived as far as necessary, but all of them cannot be revived in this age
- The real light in life is the Vedic knowledge. Bhagavad-gita affirms that the purpose of the Veda is to know the all-powerful Personality of Godhead. But in this age of quarrel there are quarrels even over the point of the existence of Godhead
- The same goal (satisfying the Supreme Personality of Godhead) could be achieved in Dvapara-yuga by worship of the Lord in the temple, and in this age of Kali one can achieve the same goal by performing sankirtana-yajna
- The sastra says, "In this age, Kali-yuga, because this garbhadhana-samskara is not observed regularly," kalau sudrah sambhavah, - everyone in the Kali-yuga is a sudra, because the garbhadhana-samskara is not observed
- The sastras strongly recommend: In this age of quarrel and hypocrisy the only means of deliverance is the chanting of the holy names of the Lord. There is no other way
- The sex life is very strong in this material . . . in this age. But sex life should be regulated. Not that anywhere and everywhere, or any time. Therefore the population is unwanted population. One irregular sex life produced the Hiranyakasipu
- The simple process of worship in this age is this performance as we are doing - chanting, hearing, and offering some fruits, flowers, and showing this candle. This is simple, that's all
- The simple way to worship the Supreme Lord in this age of disturbance is to hear and chant about His great activities
- The society must be divided into four classes of men. The first class means most intelligent class of men. They should be trained up as brahmin. So this is the beginning of civilization, not that all sudras, as it is now in this age, kalau sudra-sambhavah
- The state head should be very kind to the innocent. Unfortunately, in this age the state agents and the presidents draw good salaries from the state, and they pose themselves as very pious, but they allow the running of slaughterhouses
- The students, they are going to school, college, and they are talking of sex. Where is tapasya? How it is possible? So therefore bhakti-yoga is the only way of spiritual improvement in this age - all age; especially in this age
- The symptoms of the worst conditions of the material world, at the last stage of this age, called Kali-yuga, are stated herein (SB 2.7.38). The sum and substance of such conditions is godlessness
- The temple worship was introduced in the Dvapara-yuga. Kalau tad dhari-kirtanat. And in the, this age, it is called Kali-yuga, the age of quarrel and fight. In this age the only means is hari-kirtana

- The word "meditation" is very popular in this age amongst the common people, but they do not know the actual meaning of meditation. However, from Vedic literature we learn that the yogis are always absorbed in meditation upon the lotus feet of the Lord
- The word manda means both slow and bad, and everyone in this age is either bad or slow or a combination of both. People are unfortunate and disturbed by so many things
- The word pala-paitrkam refers to an offering of flesh in oblations to forefathers. Formerly, such an offering was allowed, but in this age it is forbidden
- The yoga system is especially difficult for this age. In the Srimad-Bhagavatam we understand that yoga means to concentrate one's attention on the Superself, Visnu. He is situated in your heart

- There are always disturbing diseases and economic problems in Kali-yuga. Therefore Lord Sri Krsna considered that in this age it is impossible for people to come to the perfectional stage of liberation by following the prescribed rules and regulations
- There are different rituals of yajna. If we want to perform such yajnas for sacrificing clarified butter, grains, there are different, so many kinds of yajnas. It is not possible in this age
- There are different yugas, millennium, and there are different processes. In this age, this is the process, kalau sankirtana, hari-kirtanat, simply chanting. Sit down anywhere, everywhere, and go on chanting, chanting, chanting
- There are many contaminations within the heart, and the people in this age are engaged in many sinful activities - illicit sex, meat-eating, intoxication and gambling

- Those who're engaged in the pure DS of the Lord, who're without any desire for self-aggrandizement & who're freed from the effects of fruitive actions & dry philosophical speculations are capable of getting out of the estrangements of this complicated age
- Time will come in this age when there will be no food, and man will kill man and eat. That time is coming. They are now killing animal, but animal lives on the grass and grains. When there will be no grass, no grains, where they will get animal?
- To become a devotee of the Lord, Krsna, one has to follow the principles of sruti and smrti, and pascaratriki-vidhi. Especially in this age, Kali-yuga, there is no Vedic vidhi, because Vedic vidhi is lost
- To create a new type of dharma has become fashionable in this age. So-called svamis and yogis support that one may follow any type of religious system, according to one's own choice, because all systems are ultimately the same
- Two Lords, Nitai-Gauracandra, Nityananda Prabhu and Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, They are very kind, you see? They have appeared just to reclaim the fallen souls of this age

- Under the circumstances, in this age, in order to keep the balance of social peace and prosperity, all intelligent men should execute the performance of sankirtana-yajna by chanting the holy names Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna, Krsna Krsna, Hare Hare
- Under the circumstances, the sastras enjoin, yajnaih sankirtana-prayair yajanti hi sumedhasah: (SB 11.5.32) in this age, those who are intellectual offer yajna, or perform sacrifices, through the sankirtana movement
- Unfortunate men of this age are always reluctant to give a reception to the transcendentalists who are representatives of Srila Vyasadeva and selfless workers always busy in planning something which may help everyone in all statuses and orders of life
- Unfortunately in this age although the father and mother are anxious to get their children married, the children refuse to get married by the arrangement of the parents. Consequently, the number of varna-sankara has increased throughout the world
- Unfortunately in this age the governmental power is gradually being captured by third-class and fourth-class men who have no spiritual understanding, and society is therefore very quickly becoming degraded
- Unfortunately in this age, even exalted professors and learned men believe that there is no next life and that everything is finished in this life. Since they are rascals and fools, what advice can they give?
- Unfortunately, especially in this age, men and women unite for unrestricted sexual enjoyment. Thus they are victimized, being obliged to take rebirth in the forms of animals to fulfill their animalistic propensities
- Unfortunately, in this age everything is mismanaged. People forget the aim of life, and at such a time the Supreme Lord Himself comes
- Unfortunately, in this age people born in rich or brahminical families often don't care for spiritual realization. They misuse their chance and exhaust the results of their pious activities
- Unfortunately, people are so dull in this age that they have no idea how birth and death can be stopped. They think that birth and death cannot be stopped; even famous scientists admit this
- Unfortunately, we are very, very slow, manda. Manda means bad, fallen, abominable. The whole population in this age, they are very, very fallen, manda. Why manda? They have advanced so much in material comforts. That is not required
- Unfortunately, we have no educational system to understand this spiritual science. And especially in this age, everything is godlessness. Therefore people are not happy. Our Krsna consciousness movement is only to make people happy by becoming KC
- Unless we conquer repeated birth and death, we simply waste our lives like animals - eating, sleeping, defending and mating. People in this age especially cannot distinguish between animal life and human life

- Varnasrama-dharma, the Vedic system of society, is therefore very important in that it is meant to give human beings a chance to perfect their lives by pleasing Krsna. Unfortunately, the varnasrama-dharma has been lost in this age
- Vyasadeva and Lord Krsna are both on the transcendental plane, and therefore they collaborated in doing good to the fallen souls of this age. The BG is the essence of all Vedic knowledge. It is the first book of spiritual values, as the Upanisads are

- We are explaining that paritranaya sadhunam vinasaya ca duskrtam, sambhavami yuge yuge (BG 4.8). So Lord appears in this age also. And according to sastra, authentic scripture, He has appeared as Lord Caitanya
- We are getting repeatedly different types of body. Now we should purify this bodily existence. And that purification in this age, it is very, very simple: chant Hare Krsna. That's all
- We are not much concerned about the temple because temple worship is not primary factor in this age. Primary factor is Sankirtana. But sometimes we want a center where people may gather and see, so a temple is required secondarily
- We are so much in this age engaged in sinful activities. The sinful activities are generally . . . the four pillars of sinful activities are illicit sex life, meat-eating, intoxication and gambling. So this whole world is now full of all this business
- We are taking the conclusion of the sastra: in this age, if one chants Hare Krsna, he becomes spiritualized. That is becoming, practically. It is not theory
- We can actually see, especially in this age, that those who have unnecessary riches simply try to enjoy these three things (wine, women & wealth). In Western civilization, these three things are very prominent because of an unnecessary increase of wealth
- We don't deprecate the meditational process. But we simply say that this process is not very fruitful in this age
- We have got so many duties, but in this age, we have lost everything. Therefore, our only duty is to surrender unto the lotus feet of Mukunda, Krsna. That will save us
- We have no information in this age, at the present time, what is that spiritual world, but they are all stated in the Bhagavad-gita: paras tasmat tu bhavo 'nyo 'vyakto 'vyaktat sanatanah - BG 8.20
- We may be successful to a certain extent but in this age it is very difficult to practice such things. Nobody can practice how to control the senses from the sense object
- We must understand that this (meditation) is not the actual yoga system. In this age that meditational system cannot be properly executed. Instead, all of the perfections of that system can be realized through bhakti-yoga, the sublime process of KC
- We should always remember that if we can keep ourselves always in company with Krsna, we shall attain all perfection. And especially in this age, Krsna has incarnated as the holy name (kali-kale nama-rupe krsna-avatara), - CC Adi 17.22
- We should always remember that to become a bona fide devotee of the Lord is not an easy task, but in this age, by the mercy of Lord Caitanya, it has been made very easy
- When an animal sacrifice is properly conducted, an old animal is sacrificed, and it emerges from the fire in a new body. This is not possible in this age, but what is possible is sankirtana-yajna, the chanting of the Hare Krsna maha-mantra
- When demoniac persons engage in animal-killing, the demigods, or devotees of the Lord, are very much afflicted by this killing. Demoniac civilizations in this modern age maintain various types of slaughterhouses all over the world
- When Maharaja Pariksit learned all the defects of this Kali-yuga, then he was little disappointed, "How these men?" Men means human being. - How they will be relieved from the miserable condition of materialistic life in this age of Kali
- When the Lord (Caitanya) desired to appear for another reason, the time for promulgating the religion of the age also arose
- When the Lord took the place of the incarnation of Kali-yuga to spread the glories of chanting Hare Krsna - the system of worship recommended in this age
- When you take to Prasadam, it is directly on the spiritual platform. Annamoya concept of life is not on the spiritual platform. Our process is therefore very easy and effective in this age
- Where is brahmana? All sudras. Kalau sudra sambhava. Especially in this age of Kali, everyone is sudra, or less than sudra
- Why don't you accept this process, Krsna consciousness? Why you are after something, false thing? Just see how unfortunate people are in this Kali-yuga. They will not accept the real thing without any payment, without any loss
- Within the memory of everyone, Lord Caitanya also appeared for the same purpose: to show special favor to fallen souls of this age of iron industry
- Without devotional service no one can attain liberation from the material clutches. Especially in this age, one can achieve the highest liberation simply by chanting Hare Krsna

- Yajnas were previously performed with offerings of oblations of ghee and food grains, but in this age, of course, this is no longer possible, for the production of ghee and food grains has diminished because of the sinful life of human society
- Yes (we always encourage chanting Hare Krsna). That is the only method in this age. By chanting Hare Krsna, one's... The reservoir of understanding will be cleared. And then you, he can receive, he can receive the spiritual knowledge
- You are a great president of a great nation. In this age of unrest and quarrel, your strength, as well as the strength of your nation, will be lasting if it is built upon the pillars of spiritual knowledge and Absolute Truth
- You are an intelligent boy, and I want to train you very nicely so that you will be able to preach this great Krishna Conscious philosophy with conviction, and help to deliver all the spiritually-starving souls in this age
- You simply chant the holy name of the Lord. Then everything will come to you automatically by and by. Because in this age penance is not at all possible
