- A guru is necessary. Like Arjuna, everyone is perplexed about his best course of action. Nobody can decide by himself
- Actually Arjuna is asking a very appropriate and intelligent question. It is not unusual for one to fall down from the platform of devotional service
- Actually Arjuna was engaged in very unpleasant activity on the battlefield, but because he was in Krsna consciousness, he suffered no reaction

- Arjuna is representing the perplexed position of the materialistic person. So under the circumstances, a guru is required to give us real direction

- Because Arjuna is above such darkness (of ignorance), the Personality of Godhead agrees to describe His various opulences. BG 1972 purports
- Because Arjuna was illusioned and he was not prepared to fight, so this instruction was given, this Bhagavad-gita instruction was given to Arjuna
- Because he (Arjuna) accepted discipleship, so He (Krsna) immediately chastised him, that - you rascal, you are talking like a very learned man, but you are on the platform of bodily conception of life, the platform of the animals
- Because he (Arjuna) accepted Krsna as spiritual master, so spiritual master has the right to chide his disciple. So He immediately chided him
- Because he (Arjuna) was lacking in that knowledge (that knowledge of matter, soul and the Supreme is even more important than religious formularies), he should not have posed himself as a very learned man. BG 1972 purports
- Because of his (Arjuna) possessing spiritual assets, the doubts of duality were completely cut off
- Because we are engaged in warfare with the forces of Maya, there will be casualties. Even Arjuna's son, Abhimanyu a 16-year-old boy was killed at the battle of Kuruksetra
- Because we are simply order-carrier. Just like Arjuna. Arjuna was posing himself by his family relationship that he's very perfect, nonviolent gentleman. But Krsna induced him to fight, to kill the other party

- Bhagavad-gita is spoken in the warfield. Bhagavad-gita is spoken when Arjuna was in problem, whether to fight or not to fight. That is the, I mean the, background of Bhagavad-gita
- Bharadvaja: He is one of the seven great rsis and was present at the time of the birth ceremony of Arjuna. The powerful rsi sometimes undertook severe penances on the shore of the Ganges, and his asrama is still celebrated at Prayagadhama

- But you cannot see Me with your present eyes. Therefore I give to you divine eyes by which you can behold My mystic opulence. BG 11.8 - 1972
- By the example of Arjuna we are to learn that we should only perform work which is sanctioned by Krsna. This is the mission of human life, but we do not know it

- Duryodhana received him (Arjuna) as his brother - My dear brother, you have come? What do you want? You want the kingdom without fighting? Therefore you have come? I can give you. I can stop this fighting if you want without fighting
- Duryodhana said to Dronacarya: Here in this army (of the Kurus) are many heroic bowmen equal in fighting to Bhima and Arjuna: great fighters like Yuyudhana, Virata and Drupada
- Duryodhana thought that, "I shall take Krsna's soldiers," and Arjuna thought, "I shall take Krsna only, even He does not fight." So this is the determination of mahatmas, that they want simply Krsna's friendship

- Generally, kings fight to extend their kingdoms, which they rule for sense gratification. But as far as Arjuna is concerned, he declined to fight for his own sense gratification

- Karna was refused to take part in the sporting, piercing the eyes of the fish, because Draupadi actually knew that "Arjuna is my real husband. So if Karna takes part in this sporting..." Karna was powerful. He would gain. But she did not like Karna
- Kasyapa begot many children, both demigods & demons, by those wives. From his first wife, Aditi, all the twelve Adityas were born; one of them is Vamana, the incarnation of Godhead. This great sage, Kasyapa, was also present at the time of Arjuna's birth
- King Pariksit was very eager to learn how his grandfather kidnapped and married his grandmother
- Krsna explains: They (Krsna, Arjuna and all other living entities) were individuals in the past, they are now situated in individuality, and in the future they will all continue to maintain their individual forms
- Krsna has accepted the arca-murti incarnation to be handled by me. Otherwise just like Arjuna saw the virata-murti, the universal form of Krsna. He was tremble; he was afraid. He requested, Please become again just like my friend. This is very fearful

- We can only see the gross material body, and when this gross material body ends, we say that everything is finished. In order to understand these things, we have to approach a guru, just as Arjuna approached Sri Krsna
