- One who is not taught by a bona fide spiritual master cannot understand the Vedic literature. To emphasize this point, Krsna clearly said that it was because Arjuna was His devotee and confidential friend that he could understand the mystery of the BG
- Out of loving ecstasy for Krsna, his friend, Arjuna is offering his respects from all sides. He is accepting that He is the master of all potencies and all prowess and far superior to all the great warriors assembled on the battlefield. BG 1972 purports

- Sisyas te 'ham prapannam (BG 2.7): "I am Your surrendered disciple." So Krsna becomes guru, and Arjuna becomes the disciple. Formerly they were talking as friends. But when there is some serious matter, it must be spoken between authorities

- Ultimately He (Krsna) said that "You are My very dear friend. Therefore I am disclosing to you the most confidential knowledge." Sarva-dharman parityajya mam ekam saranam (BG 18.66). This is the whole instruction
