- Even though the rascals and fools saw Krsna personally, they could not understand that He is the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Even upon seeing God personally, one who is unfortunate cannot understand Him
- Every living entity is always distressed in this material world because this place is such that at every step one has to meet with some kind of distress. But one who is supported by his past good deeds engages himself in devotional service of the Lord
- Every living entity, being classified as energy, is supposed to be originally a woman, or one who is enjoyed
- Everyone in this material world is hankering for enjoyment, but one who is free from this hankering can taste how relishable the Bhagavatam is
- Everyone is born rascal and fool. Unless one is rascal and fool, one does not take birth in this material body. One who is actually in knowledge, he becomes liberated
- Everyone is dying. Nobody can live here permanently. That's a fact. But one who is dying after executing the life of tapasya, he's a brahmin. And one who is dying like cats and dogs, without any execution of tapasya, he's called krpana
- Everyone is Krsna's son, so if one is mislead it is our duty to reclaim him for Krsna and one who is engaged in such work is soon recognized by Krsna
- Everyone is son of God, but one who is acting as real son of God, he is praised - He is my only son
- Everyone is subjected to his past deeds, and one who is conversant with the philosophy of karma and its reactions is a man in knowledge. Such a person will not be aggrieved at any incident, happy or miserable
- Everyone wants to relish some kind of taste in everything, but one who is engaged in the transcendental loving service of the Lord can derive unlimited pleasure from such engagement
- Everything is happening because of our association with the modes of material nature. Therefore one who is my friend today in association with the mode of goodness may be my enemy tomorrow in association with the modes of passion and ignorance
- Except for an animal killer or one who is following a policy of suicide, every intelligent person must strive to understand Krsna and His activities
- Experience is gathered by hearing and seeing. One who is less intelligent gathers experience by seeing, and one who is more intelligent gathers experience by hearing
- Explained in the Bhagavad-gita. Panditah sama-darsinah (BG 5.18): "One who is pandita, learned, his vision is equal." So if St. Francis was thinking like that, that is highest standard of spiritual understanding

- First of all guru must be bona fide, not a bogus guru. The guru, as specified by Caitanya Mahaprabhu, that is not very difficult, who is guru? Caitanya Mahaprabhu said - He is guru. One who is strictly following the instruction of Caitanya Mahaprabhu
- Foolish mundaners actually envy Sri Krsna and deride Him as one who is like other mundaners. The truth about Sri Krsna does not easily enter into the perverted brain of such mundaners infected with the empiric approach to philosophy
- For a devotee, to get liberation is not very difficult. Even one who is unable to establish a relationship with Krsna can achieve liberation by merging into the Brahman effulgence. This is called sayujya-mukti
- For a person who has suitable shoes on his feet, there is no danger even when he walks on pebbles and thorns. For him, everything is auspicious. Similarly, for one who is always self-satisfied there is no distress; indeed, he feels happiness everywhere
- For one who is a neophyte in the eightfold yoga system, work is said to be the means; and for one who has already attained to yoga, cessation of all material activities is said to be the means. BG 6.3 - 1972

- For one who is anxious to engage constantly in hearing such topics, krsna-katha gradually increases his indifference towards all other things
- For one who is fully engaged in My devotional service, whose mind is fixed on Me in bhakti-yoga, the path of speculative knowledge and dry renunciation is not very beneficial
- For one who is in the renounced order of life, this is (be allured by the glamor of the householder's worldly possessions) much more dangerous than drinking poison and committing suicide
- For one who is Krsna conscious, Krsna is always present and can be perceived constantly. We simply have to develop the eyes to see Him
- For one who is powerful like the sun or the fire, there is no consideration of purity or impurity. The sunshine can sterilize an impure place, whereas if someone else were to pass such a place he would be affected
- For one who is rapt in hearing and chanting about Krsna, the subject matter never becomes hackneyed or old. That is the significance of transcendental subject matter in contrast to material subject matter
- For one who is so situated in the Divine consciousness, the threefold miseries of material existence exist no longer; in such a happy state, one's intelligence soon becomes steady. BG 2.65 - 1972
- For one who is too entangled in material life, it takes a little more time to come to the standard point, but even such a materially engrossed man is raised to the spiritual platform very quickly
- For one who is too much attached to this material world, it is very difficult to cut that attachment, but if he takes to Krsna consciousness, there is a chance of gradually becoming detached. BG 1972 purports
- For one who is very serious about understanding the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Supersoul immediately renders assistance by directing him to a bona fide spiritual master. In this way the spiritual candidate is helped from within and without
- For spiritual advancement of life, we must go to one who is actually practicing spiritual life; not to some head of a mundane institution, not to one who has offended his Spiritual Master in so many ways. I do not wish to go into all details
- For those who are attached to this bodily machine, the yoga system is recommended. One who is overly attached to the bodily conception is taught to concentrate the mind by some physical gymnastics
- Four kinds of men - arta (one who is distressed), artharthi (one in need of money), jijnasu (one who is inquisitive) and jnani (a person in knowledge) - try to understand devotional service
- Four kinds of pious men - namely, one who is in danger, one who is in need of money, one who is searching for knowledge and one who is inquisitive - begin to take shelter of the Supreme Personality of Godhead in order to be saved or to advance
- From Asmaka, Balika took birth. Because Balika was surrounded by women and was therefore saved from the anger of Parasurama, he was known as Narikavaca "one who is protected by women"
- From this verse (SB 4.24.30) it appears that Lord Siva blesses the asuras simply for the sake of formality. Actually he loves one who is devoted to the Supreme Personality of Godhead
- Furthermore, one who is engaged in the ultimate occupational service should never use material gain to cultivate sense gratification

- Generally, people go to Krsna to mitigate some material distresses, arto, or one who is in need of money. Just like Dhruva Maharaja. He went to Krsna, he went to worship Krsna under the instruction of his mother in the forest
- Giving up all desires not connected with Krsna is the business of one who is in santa-rasa
- God gives food to animals, birds and aquatics. Why should He not give it to one who is interested in apavarga? Unfortunately people have no faith, and therefore good association is required
- Guror avajna. First offense is guror avajna, defying the authority of guru. This is the first offense. So one who is offensive, how he can make advance in chanting? He cannot make. Then everything is finished in the beginning
- Guru is Arjuna. Because a confidential instruction is given to Arjuna, so we accept Arjuna as guru. Or one who is following Arjuna, he is guru
- Guru is not manufactured. Guru is in the disciplic succession, one who is strictly follows the footsteps of the sad-gosvamis
- Guru is the representative of Vyasadeva. This throne is called vyasasana, sitting place of Vyasadeva. So one who is representative of Vyasadeva, he can sit on this throne
- Guru means who is carrying out the order of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, not a self-made guru. Guru means the most confidential servant of Krsna or Caitanya Mahaprabhu, the same thing. He is guru

- He (a Krsna conscious person) is steady both in success and in failure. These signs are visible when one is fully in transcendental knowledge. BG 1972 purports
- He (a liberated soul) never frets, "This thing I don't have. Oh, I must secure this thing. Oh, this bill I have to pay. I have to go here, there." One who is liberated has no anxieties at all
- He (Caitanya Mahaprabhu) wanted to point out clearly that a sannyasi is one who is advanced in spiritual knowledge
- He (Hiranyaksa) addressed Him (the Personality of Godhead) as vana-gocarah, which means "one who is a resident of the forest," but another meaning of vana-gocarah is "one who lies on the water
- He (Krsna) convinced them (the cowherd boys) that one who is engaged in collecting or begging should not think that he will be successful everywhere. He may be unsuccessful in some places, but that should not be cause for disappointment
- He (Krsna) has described (in Sixth Chapter of Bhagavad-gita) different process of yoga system. That's a fact. But He concludes that one who is thinking of Krsna always within himself with faith and love, he is the topmost yogi
- He (Krsna) is praised for His kindness to unfortunate persons and that He is therefore known as Uttamasloka, one who is praised by chosen words and verses
- He (one who engaged in the process of self-realization, or connecting with the Supreme Absolute Truth) is guaranteed to appear in human society in his next life
- He (one who is a candidate of easy journey to the Vaikuntha planets) must not pose himself as a vastly learned man simply by quoting statements in books. He must have solid knowledge of the necessary books without superfluous knowledge in others
- He (one who is a candidate of easy journey to the Vaikuntha planets) never tolerates blasphemy against the Lord or His devotees
- He (one who is a candidate of easy journey to the Vaikuntha planets) should avoid extensive association with nondevotees
- He (one who is a candidate of easy journey to the Vaikuntha planets) should not indulge in the discussion of topics dealing with the relationship between man and woman; nor should he engage in useless topics concerning others' family affairs
- He (one who is a candidate of easy journey to the Vaikuntha planets) should not inflict pain - either in body or in mind - upon other living beings, whomsoever they may be
- He (one who is engaged in devotional service relishes the fruit of love of Godhead) no longer desires to satisfy his senses, and he no longer desires to become one with the Supreme Lord by merging into His effulgence
- He (one who is engaged in devotional service) has to eat krsna-prasada. He has to sleep according to regulated principles. The principle is to reduce the duration of sleep and to reduce eating, taking only what is needed to keep the body fit
- He (one who is engaged in the devotional service) has already come to the post because he is engaged in the devotional service of the Lord. He has ended all preliminary processes of understanding. BG 1972 purports
- He (one who is fully in Krsna consciousness) knows fully well that Krsna is the whole and that he is part and parcel of Krsna. Such knowledge is perfect because it is qualitatively and quantitatively correct. BG 1972 purports
- He (one who is on the path of liberation by KC) does not like to hear anything except topics relating to Krsna; he does not like to eat anything which is not offered to Krsna; and he does not wish to go anywhere if Krsna is not involved. BG 1972 purports
- He (one who is on the stage of equanimity through realization of self) is no longer subject to take birth in the material world but can enter into the spiritual sky after his death. BG 1972 purports
- He (one who is spiritually advanced in Krsna consciousness) prefers to penetrate the covering of the universe and attain the spiritual world. He can then be situated in one of the Vaikuntha planets there
- He (Srila Jiva Gosvami) explains that astottara-sata (108) is added to the name of the spiritual master to indicate one who is situated in suddha-sattva, or in the transcendental state of vasudeva
- He (the living entity) usually engages his body for sense gratification, because one who is in the bodily conception of life feels that the ultimate goal of life is to serve the senses. This is the process of karma-kanda
- He alone who is never afraid but who, on the contrary, gives complete shelter to all fearful persons can actually become a husband and protector. Therefore, my (Laksmi's) Lord, you (Kamadeva) are the only husband, and no one else can claim this position
- He is equal to everyone; no one is his enemy, and no one is his friend, but one who is envious by nature can become the enemy of Lord Siva. Therefore Sati accused her father (Daksa) : No one but you could be envious of Lord Siva or be his enemy
- He who is actually elevated in Krsna consciousness does not care for the different processes. He simply directly engages himself in activities of KC and thereby factually attains his constitutional position as eternal servitor of Lord Krsna. BG 1972 pur
- He who is satisfied with gain which comes of its own accord, who is free from duality and does not envy, who is steady both in success and failure, is never entangled, although performing actions. BG 4.22 - 1972
- He who thinks that the living entity is the slayer or that he is slain, does not understand. One who is in knowledge knows that the self slays not nor is slain. BG 2.19 - 1972
- Hearing is possible by association with devotees, sadhu-sanga. You cannot hear from the rascals. You have to hear from the superior person, one who is self-realized
- Hearing these quotations from the revealed scripture Srimad-Bhagavatam, Jhadu Thakura replied, "Yes, this is true, for it is the version of sastra. It is true, however, for one who is genuinely advanced in devotion to Krsna"
- Here (in SB 3.29.14) the same fact is confirmed by Lord Kapila: one who is situated in pure devotional service is transcendentally situated, as is the Lord. Just as the Lord is unaffected by influence of the material modes, so too are His pure devotees
- Here is a dog, a street dog, and here is a learned brahmana. But one who is pandita, one who is Krsna conscious, he sees that the pandita and the dog, they are the same, because they are also the same spiritual spark
- Here it is plainly said by Lord Krsna, "the self, one who is taking pleasure in self." How we can take pleasure in self? As soon as we engage ourself with the Supreme Self. That is enjoyment
- Herein lies the mystery of His transcendental knowledge. This mystery is transcendental love of Godhead, & one who is surcharged with such transcendental love of Godhead can without difficulty see the SPG in every atom & every movable or immovable object
- Hina means without. And bala means strength. So sastra says, nayam atma bala-hinena labhyah - One who is less strong, or one who has no support of the strength, then he cannot make any progress in spiritual self-realization
- His (a man who's earning millions of dollars) power of eating is the same with the man, one who is earning ten dollars. So he does not think that, - My enjoyment of life is the same amount with the man who is earning ten dollars
- His (one who is continuously in trance) mind is always filled with the thought of Krsna, without deviation (ananya-cetah satatam). Satatam refers to anywhere and any time
- His (one who is very proud of wealth) face & heart dry up at the thought of losing his wealth, & therefore he always looks like a wretched fiend. He is not in any way able to obtain actual happiness, & he does not know what it is to be free from anxiety
- His (the devotee of the Lord, or one who is in Krsna consciousness) fathers and ancestors who might have been in difficulty are automatically relieved. The vivid example is Prahlada Maharaja
- Household life is for one who is attached, and the vanaprastha and sannyasa orders of life are for those who are detached from material life. The brahmacari-asrama is especially meant for training both the attached and detached
- How can one who is full in Himself (God) take pleasure in the association of many women? How can He take wives and, just like a householder, take pleasure in the association of family members, children, relatives and parents

- I am the only one in India who is openly criticizing, not only demigod worship and impersonalism, but everything that falls short of complete surrender to Krishna
- I cannot see what is the result, what you are dreaming. I am fool. I do not know. But the man who is dreaming, he is experiencing. Similarly, change of body means we are carried by the subtle body to another gross body. This is the process, nature's way
- I don't take shelter of hell or heaven. I take shelter of Krsna. - A devotee does not discriminate what is hell or what is heaven. One who is narayana-parah, devotee, he doesn't care for what is hell or heaven
- I forget - means I am illusioned. Atma-maya. Influenced by the modes of material . . . the one who is most influenced by the modes of material nature, they forget
- I receive so many letters daily that "I wish to marry." Immediately I sanction, "Yes, you get yourself married." But one who is strict, one who can follow very rigidly the orders of brahmacari and sannyasi, they continue
- If a man secures some money by killing someone and with that money maintains his family, those who enjoy the black money earned by him are also partially responsible and are also sent to hell, but he who is the leader is especially punished
- If a Mayavadi becomes narayana-parayana, a devotee of Lord Narayana, he is better than a jivan-mukta, one who is liberated or perfect. This requires higher intelligence
- If a person is innocent and does not know his relationship with Krsna, an advanced devotee should try to engage him in service of Krsna. One who is advanced in Krsna consciousness can engage not only the living being but everything in the service of Krsna
- If a person says, "One who is situated on the exalted throne of a king should not stand up to show respect to another king or a brahmana," it is to be understood that he does not know the superior religious principles
- If he (one who is in the mode of passion) wants to construct a residential house, he tries his best to have a palatial house, as if he would be able to reside in that house eternally. & he develops a great hankering for sense gratification. BG 1972 pur
- If one bona fide spiritual master is born in a brahmana family & another in a sudra family, one should accept the one who is born in a brahmana family. This statement serves as a social compromise, it has nothing to do with spiritual understanding
- If one engages himself in the service of the Lord through his life, wealth, words, intelligence and everything he possesses, he will always be liberated in any condition. Such a person is called a jivan-mukta, one who is liberated during this lifetime
- If one is cultivating his life like hogs and cats and dogs - the behavior is also like that and remaining in that position - so his faith & one who is advanced, who is worshiping Deity & having three times bath & chanting mantras, HK, they are not equal
- If one who is advanced explains (discussion of the rasa-lila) and people hear from him, certainly the hearers will be gradually elevated to the position of Krsna consciousness and liberated from materially contaminated life
- If one who is blind takes instruction from a blind man, it will not be possible for him to be liberated from material bondage
- If one who is eager for devotional service utters the holy name even partially or improperly, the holy name, which is identical with the Supreme Personality of Godhead, exhibits its spiritual potency because of that person’s offenseless utterance
- If one who is embarrassed by hunger or who falls down or stumbles chants the holy name of the Lord even once, willingly or unwillingly, he is immediately freed from the reactions of his past deeds
- If Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu descended to reclaim sinners, then one who is the most sinful and lowborn is the first candidate for the Lord’s consideration
- If we go still further, we can understand, "I am consciousness." And one who is further advanced can understand that the source of consciousness is the soul and, above all, the Supersoul
- If we neglect these principles, Maya will capture us immediately. Maya is always ready. We are in the ocean, and at any moment we may be disturbed. Therefore one who is not disturbed at all is called paramahamsa
- If we remember that the SS is indeed omnipresent, we can create a spiritual atmosphere by performing all our activities in relation to the SS, with everything directed by one who is a self-realized soul. Then the whole thing is transformed into spirit
- If we remember that the Supreme Spirit is indeed omnipresent, we can create a spiritual atmosphere by performing all our activities in relation to the Supreme Spirit, with everything directed by one who is a self-realized soul
- If you find a person (one who is coming in disciplic succession & fully convinced about the Supreme Absolute Truth), surrender & try to please him, serve him & question him. Surrender unto him is surrender to God. Question to learn, not to waste time
- If you follow the direction of the bottle label then you get benefit. Similarly, here is the direction: evam parampara-praptam (BG 4.2). You have to understand Bhagavad-gita from the disciplic succession, and that it means one who is devotee
- If you simply hear and chant, then you will be purified. One who is chanting and one who is hearing, both of them will be purified. And gradually, as soon as one is purified, he becomes pious
- If you take the shelter of the plug which is connected with the powerhouse, you get immediately electricity. Similarly, if you take shelter of a person who is coming in the parampara system...
- Illusion cannot work on one who is awake in the devotional service of the Lord
- In any case birth means bondage, and one who is striving for KC is striving for liberation from the bondage of transmigration. What is the advantage of being born in a wealthy or aristocratic family if one does not get rid of his material miseries
- In Bhagavad-gita (6.1) it is said: One who is unattached to the fruits of his work and who works as he is obligated is in the renounced order of life, and he is the true mystic, not he who lights no fire and performs no work
- In Bhagavad-gita (BG 2.59) it is described that one who is attracted by param, the Supreme, is no longer attracted by anything inferior
- In Bhagavad-gita (BG 6.1) it is said: "One who is unattached to the fruits of his work and who works as he is obligated is in the renounced order of life, and he is the true mystic, not he who lights no fire and performs no work"
- In Bhagavad-gita (BG 6.3) karma-yoga is recommended: "For one who is a neophyte in the yoga system, work is said to be the means; and for one who has already attained to yoga, cessation of all material activities is said to be the means"
- In Bhagavad-gita it is stated that one who is advanced in spiritual knowledge is not disturbed by the pains and pleasures of the material body
- In Bhagavad-gita it is stated who is qualified to enter into the kingdom of Godhead. It is said there, nirmana-moha jita-sanga-dosah. This refers to one who is completely freed from the puffed-up condition of material possessiveness
- In conclusion, one who is a pure devotee has all other good qualities, namely knowledge, detachment, etc., but one who has only knowledge or detachment is not necessarily well acquainted with the principles of the bhakti cult
- In conclusion, one who thinks that he has many enemies is an ignorant man, whereas one who is in Krsna consciousness knows that there are no enemies but those within oneself - the uncontrolled mind and senses
- In killing animals, there are eight kinds of criminals. That he has explained. One who is killing, one who is ordering, one who is purchasing, one who is eating, one who is cooking, in this way...
- In material consciousness, even one who is situated in the mode of goodness is susceptible to pollution by the modes of passion and ignorance
- In Srimad-Bhagavatam (SB 3.13.4) it is stated that there are many students of the Vedas, but one who is always thinking of the Supreme Personality of Godhead within his heart is the best student of all
- In Srimad-Bhagavatam (SB 3.30.7) it is stated that if one who is bereft of the association of a pure devotee tries to become happy through society, friendship and love devoid of Krsna consciousness, he is to be considered in the most distressed condition
- In the BG 13.9 it is stated: one who is actually advancing must always consider the 4 principles of miserable life, namely, birth, death, old age & disease. One cannot be saved from all these miseries unless he takes shelter of the lotus feet of the Lord
- In the Bhagavad-gita it is said, yesam tu anta-gatam papam (BG 7.28): "One who is free from all contamination of sinful activities, simply engaged in pious activities only, without any doubt and duality, with fixed-up mind, he can become Krsna conscious
- In the Bhagavad-gita, Eighteenth Chapter, the Lord states that one who is engaged in preaching Krsna consciousness is very dear to Him. A preacher has to face many difficulties in his struggle to preach pure Krsna consciousness
- In the Caitanya-caritamrta (Madhya 22.64) Sri Sanatana Gosvami is taught: One who is faithful is a proper candidate for devotional service. In terms of one’s degree of faith in devotional service, one is a first-class, second-class or neophyte Vaisnava
- In the Garuda Purana it is said: In this Age of Kali, the fame of one who is known as a great devotee is very rare. However, such a position is superior to that of the great demigods like Brahma and Mahadeva. This is the opinion of all spiritual masters
- In the Garuda Purana, Brhan-naradiya Purana and Padma Purana, the same is repeated: What is the use of Vedic knowledge and penances for one who is devoid of devotional service to the Lord
- In the Hari-bhakti-vilasa it is stated that if one bona fide spiritual master is born in a brahmana family and another, who is also qualified, is born in a sudra family, one should accept the one who is born in a brahmana family
- In the Hari-bhakti-vilasa, Sri Sanatana Gosvami states that one who is initiated by a bona fide spiritual master immediately becomes a brahmana
- In the Manu-samhita it is stated there that when the king kills one man, or hangs one man who is a murderer, that is benefit to him
- In the material world, one who is happy forgets Krsna, or God, but sometimes, if one is actually pious but in distress, he remembers Krsna. Queen Kuntidevi therefore preferred distress because it is an opportunity for remembering Krsna
- In the material world, one who is unaffected by whatever good or evil he may obtain, neither praising it nor despising it, is firmly fixed in perfect knowledge
- In the material world, the via media for sense gratification is mainly a woman. One who is seriously interested in spiritual life should strictly avoid women
- In the Narada-bhakti-sutra it is said that one who is very serious about developing Krsna consciousness has his desire to understand Krsna fulfilled very soon by the grace of the Lord
- In the parampara system, the instructions taken from the bona fide spiritual master must also be based on revealed Vedic scriptures. One who is in the line of disciplic succession cannot manufacture his own way of behavior
- In the previous chapter (BG 1) he (Arjuna) was arguing with Krsna, giving evidences from sastra on the bodily concept of life. But he does not know the sastras say, - One who is in the bodily concept of life, he is no better than an ass or cow
- In the Srimad-Bhagavatam (SB 5.5.3) Lord Rsabhadeva states that one who is determined to become a pure devotee avoids associating with the general mass of people, who are simply engaged in the animal propensities of eating, sleeping, defending, & mating
- In the Upanisads it is clearly said that the SPG can never be known simply by working very hard and taxing the good brain, nor can He be known simply by mental speculation and jugglery of words. The Lord is knowable only by one who is a surrendered soul
- In the Vedic writings such as the Katha Upanisad, the Lord is described as the sarva-bhuta-antaratma, or the Personality of Godhead who resides in everyone's body and who directs everything for one who is a soul surrendered unto Him
- In this verse (BG 10.8) the word budha is used, which indicates a wise man or one who is learned. What is his symptom? He knows that Krsna is the fountainhead of everything, of all emanations
- In this verse the King (Maharaja Pariksit) has placed two questions before the learned sages. The first question is what is the duty of everyone in all circumstances, and the second question is what is the specific duty of one who is to die very shortly
- In this way, everyone is thinking that he is very happy, although he is in a horrible and fearsome condition. However, one who is actually intelligent can understand that he is not actually happy, that he is suffering
- In this way, giving some excuse, Gopala sometimes remains in the bushes of the forest, and sometimes He stays in a village. One who is a devotee comes to see the Deity
- In this way, Kamalakara Pippalai became the worshiper of Lord Jagannatha, and since then his family members have been designated as Adhikari, which means - one who is empowered to worship the Lord.These Adhikaris belong to a respectable brahmana family
- Instead of spending money unnecessarily on performing yajnas impossible to perform in this age of Kali because of the scarcity of yajnika-brahmanas, one who is intelligent performs sankirtana-yajna
- Intelligence is there, every living entity. Now, to train them how to utilize his intelligence . . . so one who is fortunate, he becomes trained up in intelligence how to go home, back to home, back to Godhead
- It does not mean that one who is taking care of dressing the Deity, he is higher than the man who is washing the dishes. No. They are not karma. By washing dishes he is executing devotional service, and by dressing the Deity he is also

- It is confirmed in the Narada-pancaratra that when the senses are purified they can then be engaged in the devotional service of the Lord. One who is attached to material contamination cannot be a devotee
- It is for this reason (one who is in the bodily concept of existence cannot understand the process of devotional service) that the Narada-bhakti-sutra begins - Now, therefore, I (Narada Muni) shall try to explain the process of devotional service

- Janma-mrtyu jara-vyadhi-duhkha-dosanudarsanam (BG 13.9). The body is subject to its own principles of birth, death, old age and disease, but one who is situated in spiritual life (yato bhaktir adhoksaje) has no birth, no death, no old age and no disease
- Just as a great python, although lying in one place, not endeavoring for its livelihood, gets the food it needs to maintain body and soul, one who is desireless also obtains his livelihood without endeavor
- Just as King Puranjana began to search out his better half, the Queen, one who is decorated with knowledge and instructions from saintly persons should try to search out his original consciousness, Krsna consciousness
- Just like Sarvabhauma Bhattacarya. He argued with Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu as a scholar. But when he became defeated, he accepted His discipleship. This was the method, that two persons may argue, but one who is defeated, he must become his disciple

- Kardama Muni addresses the Lord as sukla, which means "the leader of religion." One who is pious should follow the rules of religion, for such rules are prescribed by the Lord Himself
- Karma-yogis, empiric philosophers, mystics, and devotees are all called transcendentalists, but one who is a pure devotee is the best of all. BG 1972 purports
- Katha Upanisad says that tad-vijnanartham sa gurum evabhigacchet srotriyam brahma-nistham. This srotriyam means that one who is coming in disciplic succession
- King Kulasekhara next addresses the Lord as Dayapara, "He who is causelessly merciful," because there is no one but the Lord who can be a causelessly merciful friend to us. He is therefore also called Dina-bandhu - the friend of the needy
- Knowing that she was pregnant, the co-wives of the wife of Bahuka conspired to give her poison with her food, but it did not act. Instead, the son was born along with the poison. Therefore he became famous as Sagara ("one who is born with poison")
- Krishna makes promise to one who is striving to serve Him sincerely that He will give such devotee the intelligence by which he may come to Him
- Krishna's mercy is always bestowed upon one who is sincerely serving Him
- Krsna answered, "We do not care to hear you any longer, for it is useless to hear the words of a person who is going to die or of one who is very distressed"

- Krsna has said that, Of all the yogis, one who is thinking of Me within himself, he's the first-class yogi. So you can become a first-class yogi at home without any expenditure, without any loss
- Krsna is known as para-duhkha-duhkhi krpambudhih, or one who is compassionate toward others' suffering and who is an ocean of mercy
- Krsna is the shelter of all great souls, and He is also the shelter of the material worlds. For one who is on the platform of Krsna consciousness, Vaikuntha, or the spiritual world, is not far away. He does not live within the material world
- Krsna replied, "I confirm that all you have spoken about Me (Krsna) in your prayers is factual. It is a fact that the materially opulent position of one who is not fully KC is the cause of his downfall and his becoming a victim of the illusory energy"
- Krsna reveals Himself from within to one who is serious about God realization. Both Krsna and the spiritual master help the sincere soul
- Krsna says in Bhagavad-gita, (BG 10.8) "I am the source of everything; everything emanates from Me." So one who knows, not only theoretically but practically, that Krsna is the cause of all causes - one who is convinced of this - is a paramahamsa
- Krsna says in the Bhagavad-gita, One who is doing this humble service of preaching work, Krsna consciousness, nobody is dearer than him to Me
- Krsna says that "One who is engaged in devotional service to Me without any deviation," that means twenty-four hours in Krsna consciousness, "he is pure"
- Krsna says, "Generally, mass of people, they are ignorant. They perform some religious rituals, knowingly or unknowingly, as a matter of superstition or custom." But one who is intelligent, he should know that - By this sacrifice, I must get the result
- Krsna says, "It is neither practical nor necessary for one who is already engaged in devotional service to Me and whose mind is fixed on Me to endeavor for the cultivation of knowledge and renunciation"
- Krsna says, "One who is always engaged in My service, activities," Krsna says, "he comes back to Me." Tyaktva deham punar janma naiti mam eti kaunteya
- Krsna says, - Of all yogis, the one who is constantly thinking of Me within himself, meditating upon Me within the heart, is the first-class yogi
- Krsna says, tyaktva deham punar janma naiti mam eti so 'rjuna: "After leaving this body, one who is in knowledge does not come again to this material world, for he enters into the spiritual world and comes to Me." - BG 4.9
- Krsna says, ye tu bhajanti mam bhaktya. One who is, I mean to say, entrapped in such love affairs with God, don't think that God is forgotten. God is also thinking in that way. Although you do not see, but you see
- Krsna serves as a patron for one who is devoted to Him. When one is in difficulty, his patron saves him
- Krsna states in Bhagavad-gita (6.47) that the first-class sadhu is one who is always thinking of Him. This process is not very difficult. We should always think of Krsna, but how is this possible
- Krsna wanted to teach through the behavior of the gopis that one who is constantly in trance like the gopis surely attains His lotus feet
- Kunti continued, "You (Krsna) are present in everyone's heart, but because the devotees always remember You, You respond accordingly. Although the mother has affection for all the children, she takes special care of the one who is fully dependent"
- Kuntidevi, while offering prayers to Krsna, addressed Him as akincana-gocara, one who is easily approached by those who are bereft of all material acquisitions

- Learned scholars do not praise that charity which endangers one's own livelihood. Charity, sacrifice, austerity and fruitive activities are possible for one who is competent to earn his livelihood properly
- Less intelligent men think that plants and grass grow out of the earth automatically, but one who is actually intelligent and has realized the self can see that this growth is not automatic
- Less intelligent persons do not agree to this great instruction of the Lord, as ill luck would have it, but one who is actually intelligent catches up this sublime instruction and is immensely benefited
- Like the gopis, one who is always absorbed in thought of the Lord is beyond the material platform and will not remain in this material world
- Living entities are subjected to the repetition of birth and death because they are conditioned by material nature, but since You are transcendental, one who is inclined to associate with You in transcendence escapes the conditions of material nature
- Living entity cannot be annihilated at any point. But the lower species of life exist in a miserable condition, whereas one who is engaged in the devotional service of the Supreme Lord is situated in the pleasurable, or ananda-maya, status of life
- Lord Brahma, the creator of the cosmic manifestation, is known as Svayambhu, or one who is born without father and mother. The general process is that a living creature is born out of the sex combination of the male father and the female mother
- Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu's mercy is there for everyone. He can accept everyone. One who is sinful, that is not disqualification. Because in this age, Kali-yuga, more or less, everyone is sinful
- Lord Caitanya replied, "A person who is always chanting the holy name of the Lord is to be considered a first-class Vaisnava, and your duty is to serve his lotus feet"
- Lord Caitanya says, - One who is Krsna conscious has no demands. Thus he is at peace
- Lord Krsna says that, yesam anta-gatam papam: one who is completely free from all sinful reaction of life, such persons, without any duality
- Lord Krsna says, dhiras tatra na muhyati: (BG 2.13) one who is dhira, or sober, who is learned in philosophy and established in knowledge, cannot be unhappy over the transmigration of the soul
- Lord Krsna, however, has explained in the Gita that out of these four types of neophytes, the one who is wise is very dear to Him because a wise man, if he is attached to Krsna, is not seeking an exchange of material benefits
- Lord Siva is a celebrated demigod who awards gifts to beggars. His name is therefore Asutosa, or one who is pleased very easily
- Lord Siva is addressed as abhava, which means "one who is never born," although generally he is known as bhava, "one who is born
- Lord Siva is also called Asutosa, which refers to one who is satisfied very easily and who offers to any person the highest level of benediction
- Lord Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu's empowering of others can be understood by one who is actually a devotee of the Lord and who has received His mercy
- Lord Sri Krsna is the fullest manifestation of the Supreme Absolute Truth, and therefore one who is surrendered to the Supreme Person is a successful transcendentalist. BG 1972 purports

- Madana-mohana means that one who is attracted to Krsna, he'll forget the pleasure derived from sex life. This is the test
- Maharaja Pariksit is especially famous as one who is protected by Visnu, and when he was unduly cursed by a brahmana's son, he could have invoked the mercy of the Lord to save him, but he did not want to because he was a pure devotee
- Maharaja Pariksit was not at all afraid of death, for he was fully encouraged by the message of the Lord. One who is fully absorbed in acyuta-katha can never be afraid of anything in this world
- Maharaja Priyavrata was so strong, by the grace of the Lord, that even though his beautiful wife was alive, he could give up her association exactly like one who is forced to give up the association of a dead wife
- Maharaja Prthu is addressed here (SB 4.21.52) as vivrddha-sattva, or one who is situated in the transcendental position
- Maharaja Prthu was never a worshiper of the impersonal Brahman but was at all times a pure devotee of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Bhagavati brahmani refers to one who is engaged in devotional service to the Personality of Godhead
- Mahatma, one who is broad-minded, or greater souls, they are under the control of daivi-prakrti. Daivim prakrtim asritah
- Many such Krsna conscious children are required, and one who is capable of bringing forth Krsna conscious offspring is allowed to utilize his genitals
- Mere sastra jnana, or knowledge in the Vedas, does not help anyone understand the Personality of Godhead. Only one who is favored or shown mercy by the Lord can understand Him
- My dear King, a self-satisfied person can be happy even with only drinking water. However, one who is driven by the senses, especially by the tongue and genitals, must accept the position of a household dog to satisfy his senses
- My Guru Maharaja Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati used to say pran acche var sehetu pracar, "one can preach who has got life." So one who is preaching this Krishna Consciousness Movement means he has got real life
- My idea is that the leaders must agree to stick at one place, even they may have to remain their life-long, that is the ideal leader, one who is conscious of his duty
N
- Naturally one who is always engaged in devotional service of the Lord has very little time to sleep. Sleep is a necessity of the body, not the spirit soul, and therefore as one advances in devotional service one's propensity to sleep decreases
- Neither the ascetic, nor one who is greatly munificent, nor one who is famous, nor the great philosopher, nor the great occultist, nor anyone else can achieve the desired result without being engaged in the service of the Lord
- Nirgrantha also refers to one who is illiterate, lowborn, misbehaved, unregulated and devoid of respect for the Vedic literature. The word also refers to one who is a capitalist and to one who has no riches
- Nirmana-moha jita-sanga-dosah. This refers to one who is completely freed from the puffed-up condition of material possessiveness
- Nitya-siddha means they never fall a victim of maya. Even though they are within this material world, they are never victimized. That is called nitya-siddha. And one who is victimized, he is called nitya-baddha
- No anxiety is Krsna. And one who is under Krsna, he is also, he has no anxiety. Otherwise always anxious. Material existence means anxiety. Anyone who is in the material existence, he is always in anxiety
- No learned man takes serious consideration of the body. Therefore in the Vedic literature it is said that "One who is in the bodily concept of life, he is nothing more than an animal"
- No one but one who is enlightened by the devotional service of the Lord can understand the difference between the Lord's activities and those of others, who are controlled by the supernatural force
- No one who was sinful, envious, violent toward other living entities, cunning, falsely proud, lusty or greedy could enter that city (of Indra). The people who lived there were all devoid of these faults
- Nobody can achieve perfection on the platform of rajo-guna and tamo-guna, because one who is addicted with rajo-guna and tamo-guna, he is always very greedy and lusty
- Nondevotees are under the sway of passion and ignorance. One who is in passion cannot become detached from material hankering, and one who is in ignorance cannot know what he is or what the Lord is
- Not a sadhu having big beard or mustaches and having red cloth, without any sense of Krsna. He's not sadhu. Sadhu means one who is fully engaged in the service of the Lord. He's sadhu
- Not attaining ananda, or bliss, they (brahma-bhuta living entities) come down to the material world to enjoy. This is certainly a falldown for one who is actually liberated. The bhaktas consider such a falldown equal to achieving a place in hell
- Not only guru. Anyone who is spiritually advanced, he has no more material body
- Nrsimha Purana said, "By such meditation even one who is grossly miscreant can be delivered from the sinful reactions of his life"
O
- O best of kings, one who is faithful, who is always hearing the glories of the SPG, who is always engaged in the culture of Krsna consciousness and in hearing of the Lord's activities, very soon becomes eligible to see the SPG face to face
- O hunter, the qualifications which you have acquired - such as nonviolence & others - are not astonishing, because one who is engaged in devotional service to the Lord cannot be a source of trouble for anyone under any circumstance - Skanda Purana
- O King, one who is advanced in intelligence and eager to perform welfare activities for others is considered best amongst human beings. An advanced human being is never malicious to others
- Of course to call a thief a thief is not faultfinding, but to call an honest person a thief is very much offensive for one who is making advancement in spiritual life. BG 1972 purports
- Of the saintly persons who are constantly engaged in striving toward salvation, one who is in Krsna consciousness is the best of all. BG 1972 purports
- Oh, why for the benefit of the human being, other animals' throat should be cut? Even they have no common sense. National. National means one who is born in that land. That is national. So why the animals born in that land, they are not national
- One (who is a candidate of easy journey to the Vaikuntha planets) should avoid offenses in the discharge of devotional service and in chanting the holy names
- One can advance by controlling the senses (yamaih). By controlling the senses, one can become a svami or gosvami. One who is enjoying this supertitle, svami or gosvami, must be very strict in controlling his senses
- One cannot take to Krsna consciousness without being freed from all sinful activities. Naturally one who is very serious about Krsna consciousness is freed from all sinful activity. Consequently a devotee is never inclined to commit sins
- One has to serve the mahiyan, one who is very spiritually advanced. Mahat-sevam dvaram ahur vimukteh: (SB 5.5.2) by serving the mahat, the exalted devotee, one's path for liberation is open
- One may search for Krsna, the S. P. of Godhead, through the pages of the Vedas and Upanisads, but it is difficult to find Him there. However, one who is fortunate enough to associate with a devotee can see the Supreme Personality of Godhead face to face
- One must become dhira, or undisturbed by the modes of material nature. The process of yoga may be practiced by one who is free from the agitation of these modes
- One should depend fully on the causeless mercy of the Lord. Although as a matter of routine duty one must of course accept other remedial measures, no one can protect one who is neglected by the Supreme Personality of Godhead
- One should go directly to Krsna and engage in His service. This is the best opportunity offered to the inhabitants of Bharata-varsa. One who is fit to return home, back to Godhead, is no longer liable to the results of karma, good or bad
- One should not remain a kanistha-adhikari, one who is situated on the lowest platform of devotional service and is interested only in worshiping the Deity in the temple
- One who (a human being) is sober, who knows the laws of nature, and who is not influenced by unnecessary attachment or aversion is sure to be recognized by the Lord and thus become eligible to go back to Godhead, back to the eternal home
- One who are loitering in the street naked, they are going to have next life tree, "Stand up naked for ten thousand of years. That's all right." But they are enjoying. They're showing beauty by naked, nakedness
- One who becomes inquisitive to hear, so sradda susrusoh. Susrusoh means one who is very inquisitive to hear - at the same time, to render service. These two qualifications. Susrusoh. Sraddadhanasya (SB 1.2.16), with faith. Vasudeva-katha-rucih
- One who can actually see that despite activities there are no karmic reactions, who understands the nature of akarma actually sees things as they are. The word akarmani refers to one who is trying to avoid the reactions of karma
- One who claims to be the supreme, therefore, should be understood to have fallen to the last snare of maya. One who is thus fallen cannot even be liberated, for he is bound by false impressions
- One who controls the mind (and therefore the senses as well) is called gosvami, or svami, and one who is controlled by the mind is called godasa, or the servant of the senses. BG 1972 purports
- One who controls the mind, therefore the senses as well, is called gosvami or svami. One who is controlled by the mind is called go-dasa, or the servant of the senses
- One who does not follow the principles of pancaratra, or one who is an impersonalist or addicted to sex life, cannot be compared with those who have dedicated their lives to the service of Krsna
- One who does not possess elevated qualities & behavior cannot possibly achieve My favor simply by performance of sacrifices, severe austerities or mystic yoga. But I always remain equipoised in the heart of one who is also equipoised in all circumstances
- One who engages in sense gratification on the material platform can hardly understand radha-bhava, but one who is freed from the demands of sense gratification can understand it
- One who has connected himself with spiritual knowledge can understand that there is a spiritual soul within the body. However, one who is in an animalistic conception of life and has no spiritual culture cannot understand
- One who has finished sinful activities, he can be engaged in God consciousness. One who is engaged in sinful activities, he cannot. Devil citing scripture. A devil cannot cite scripture. Angel can cite scripture
- One who has got one million dollars and utilizing it and making millions and millions dollars, he is intelligent. Similarly, this body is invaluable. One who is utilizing it for culture of spiritual knowledge, he is brahmana
- One who has seen, one who is in trance of self-realization, he cannot sit idly. He must come out
- One who has unflinching faith in Krsna, one who is cent percent engaged to render service to Krsna, he is called sadhu
- One who is a bona fide candidate for going back to Godhead should not be considered a lowborn person, or candala. That is also a sastric injunction
- One who is a completely surrendered soul, always seeking protection from the Lord in the discharge of his entrusted duties, has no fear of falling into material contamination
- One who is a devotee (Vasudeva-parayanah) and who simply engages in devotional service is immediately freed from all sinful activities
- One who is a devotee especially accepts all reverses as gifts of the Supreme Lord
- One who is a devotee of the Lord attains all the good qualifications of the Lord Himself, what to speak of those of a brahmana
- One who is a faithful servant of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu must execute His order, even if one has to sacrifice going to Jagannatha Puri to see Lord Jagannatha there
- One who is a householder, he has to work because he has to maintain a wife and children at home. But for a brahmacari, why should he take the botheration of working simply for the matter of satisfying the belly?
- One who is a pure devotee (anyabhilasita-sunyam - Brs 1.1.11), who acts according to the sastra and the words of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, certainly becomes purified. Like Gajendra, he assumes a spiritual body and returns home, back to Godhead
- One who is a spiritual master in accordance with the above descriptions (SB 4.29.51) of devotional service is to be understood as the Supreme Personality of Godhead personally present
- One who is a Vaisnava is already a brahmana
- One who is able to associate with the Lord is sure to be delivered from the darkness of the created world, which is a product of false ego
- One who is able to control the forces of all these different senses, and the mind, is called gosvami, or svami. Such gosvamis live strictly controlled lives, and forego altogether the forces of the senses. BG 1972 purports
- One who is able to distinguish between matter and spirit, who is never disturbed by material transformations, and who meditates on the unlimited, inexhaustible, auspicious Brahman effulgence is a first-class, learned brahmacari and is named Caitanya
- One who is able to give up this kama, the lust and anger, they are called great sages
- One who is able to meditate upon this arrangement (of the planetary systems of the universe) as the virat-rupa, or visva-rupa, the external body of the SPG, and worship Him three times a day by meditation will always be free from all sinful reactions
- One who is able to understand can relish this exalted transcendental literature (Caitanya-caritamrta), which is actually not meant for ordinary persons like scholars and literary men
- One who is able to understand the intricacies of all these energies (internal, external and marginal) of the Supreme Lord can no longer remain an empiric impersonalist under the influence of a poor fund of knowledge
- One who is able to withdraw his senses from sense objects, as the tortoise draws his limbs within the shell, is to be understood as truly situated in knowledge. BG 2.58 - 1972
- One who is above the activities of the mind, manaso para buddhi, one who has learned how to use his intelligence, that art is called buddhi-yogam, yoga on the platform of intelligence
- One who is absorbed in krsna-bhavanamrta has no material benefits to ask from Krsna. Instead, such a person prays to the Lord for the benediction of being able to spread His glories all over the world
- One who is absorbed in the thought of bodily conceptions cannot understand his situation. BG was spoken to liberate one from the bodily conception of life, and Arjuna put himself in this position in order to receive this information. BG 1972 Introduction
- One who is actually a worshiper of Lord Siva as a devotee of Sankarsana can be released from false, material ego
- One who is actually advanced in spiritual knowledge of Krsna is never a sudra, even though he may have been born in a sudra family
- One who is actually attracted by the beauty of the lotus feet of Sri Krsna or His service, and whose heart will naturally never aspire after the liberation which is so valuable to the impersonalists
- One who is actually deriving benefit from hearing the rasa-lila dance surely achieves the transcendental position. He surely loses all traces of lust in his heart
- One who is actually devotee, he doesn't care where he is placed, in the hell or heaven, he doesn't care. He simply wants to serve Krsna, never mind where, not even heaven or hell
- One who is actually faithful and inquisitive is qualified to hear the transcendental pastimes of the appearance and disappearance of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Vidura was a suitable candidate to receive such transcendental messages
- One who is actually great can become greater than the greatest and smaller than the smallest
- One who is actually intelligent and has realized the self can see that this growth is not automatic; the cause is the soul, and the forms come out in material bodies under different conditions
- One who is actually intelligent gives up all material desires and engages in the transcendental service of Krsna

- One who is inquisitive or serious about inquiring about Brahman, he requires guru. Guru is not a fashion. Guru is necessity. Tad-vijnanartham sa gurum evabhigacchet (MU 1.2.12). Tad-vijnanam. Tad-vijnanam means spiritual education

- Out of many kinds of devotees of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, the one who is attracted to the original form of the Lord, Krsna in Vrndavana, is considered to be the foremost, first-class devotee
- Out of many learned scholars and philosophers, one who is actually liberated from material bondage is better, and out of many such persons who are actually liberated, one who is a devotee of the Supreme Personality of Godhead is considered to be the best
- Out of many millions of wandering living entities, one who is very fortunate gets an opportunity to associate with a bona fide spiritual master by the grace of Krsna
- Out of many such people who are advanced in knowledge, one who is practically liberated by virtue of his knowledge may take to devotional service
- Out of many thousands of Vaisnavas, one who is completely fixed in the service of Lord Krsna is most famous. Indeed, a person who is completely devoted to the service of the Lord certainly returns home, back to Godhead
- Out of millions and millions of people, it is very difficult to find one who is actually Krsna conscious; this position of Krsna consciousness is so rare
- Out of millions of karma-nisthas there may be one who is wise. Those who try to avoid fruitive activity and who become silent in order to merge into the spiritual existence of the Absolute Truth are generally known as jnanis, wise men

- Pandita, one who is learned, he is sama-darsinah, equal vision. Krsna has equal vision. That picture, Krsna, He's embracing the calf. He is not only embracing the gopis, but He is embracing the calf also, cows also
- Pangoh refers to one who cannot move independently by his own strength, and manda-mateh is one who is less intelligent because he is too absorbed in materialistic activities
- Pasu means life, or living entity. Pasu-ghna. Ghna means killer. So unless one who is killing himself or killing this animal . . . Both are killing
- People are after so-called Vedantists, but they do not know Krsna, so-called Vedantist. But one who is actually Vedantist, he knows Krsna
- People generally think that religion should be pursued for material profit. This may be suitable for persons interested in material life, but one who is interested in spiritual life should be attached to paro dharmah
- Pisaci paile yena mati-cchana haya, mayar grasta jivera sei dasa upajaya. One who is under the control of maya, he speaks like ghostly-haunted man - all nonsense
- Prahlada Maharaja then says - Although He is not seen, He can still be perceived. One who is intelligent can perceive the presence of the Supreme Lord everywhere
- Precisely for this reason, we can envision ourselves "changing religions." One who is a "Hindu" today may become a "Muhammadan" the next day, or one who is a "Muhammadan" today may become a "Christian" the next day, and so on
- Preya means immediately I want some benefit, and sreya means the ultimate benefit. One who is inquisitive about the ultimate benefit, he should be inquisitive or inquire from a bona fide spiritual master. Jijnasuh sreya uttamam

- Radharani said to the bumblebee: You may inform Him that He is praised for His kindness to unfortunate persons and that He is therefore known as Uttamasloka, one who is praised by chosen words and verses
- Ramananda Raya cited more evidence from BG: "One who is transcendentally situated at once realizes the Supreme Brahman. He never laments, nor desires, he is equally disposed. In that state he attains pure devotional service unto Me (Krsna)" - BG 18.54
- Real intelligent person is he who is satisfied what Krsna has given him
- Regardless of how many times he is punished, one who is attached to sense enjoyment will commit sinful acts again and again until he is trained to refrain from enjoying his senses
- Regardless of one's social or spiritual position, however, one who is lacking in devotional service, or Krsna consciousness, cannot be released from material bondage, even if he executes his prescribed duty
- Regardless of where he is situated, anyone whose only aim is to serve the Supreme Lord under the direction of the spiritual master is called jivan-mukta, or one who is liberated even with his material body
- Representative means one who is strictly following the principle adopted by Sukadeva Gosvami. Just like Sukadeva Gosvami first of all spoke Srimad-Bhagavatam before Maharaja Pariksit, and in that meeting, Suta Gosvami was present
- Revelation is there to fortunate person, one who is very seriously searching after God. God is within himself. He reveals. And the other process is that if you are searching after God, then you know it from the person who has already known God
- Rukmini first addressed Krsna as Yogesvara. Yogesvara means "one who is possessed of inconceivable opulence and energy." Krsna possesses inconceivable opulence and energy, whereas Rukmini's brother (Rukmi) had only limited military potency

- Sa gunan samatityaitan brahma-bhuyaya kalpate: one who is engaged in devotional service has already been freed from the reactions of his material karma, and thus he immediately becomes brahma-bhuta (SB 4.30.20), or transcendental
- Sadaiva means "always." Sada eva, sadaiva. Who sees? Now, one who is devotee, one who is fully absorbed in love of Godhead, premanjana-cchurita, or whose eyes are anointed with love of Godhead. Not this eye
- Sadhaka means one who is cultivating devotion in Krsna consciousness. The description of such a devotee is found in the Eleventh Canto, 2nd Chapter, 45th verse, of Srimad-Bhagavatam
- Sadhavah (meaning "pious" or "well behaved") is very important, especially at the present moment. It is derived from the word sadhu. A perfect sadhu is one who is always engaged in the devotional service of the Supreme Personality of Godhead
- Sadhu is one who is unflinchingly engaged in loving service of the Lord. He is a sadhu. That is the test, who is a sadhu. Sadhur eva sa mantavyah
- Sadhu means one who is fully engaged in the service of the Lord. He's sadhu. Api cet su-duracarah. Even if he's not very well behaved, su-duracara, still he's sadhu. Why? Bhajate mam ananya-bhak. He has no other business than to love Krsna
- Sambhavitasya, one who is very reputed, famous man, if he does something wrong, then it was better to die before such infamy is grown. This is advised. Arjuna is famous as a great fighter
- Sannyasis should never associate with women, but that does not mean that one who is in the lower stages of life, a young man, should not accept a wife in the marriage ceremony. BG 1972 purports
- Sati might have heard all this many times from her husband, Lord Siva, but because she was a woman, yosit, she still hankered after the same material objects of affection. The word yosit means "one who is enjoyed
- Satisfaction in the service of the Lord is called akama, freedom from desire, and this is the ultimate satisfaction. Therefore Maharaja Parīksit inquired, How could one who was fully satisfied on the highest platform be satisfied with family life
- Satisfaction of the Lord is the criterion of one who is bona fide, and the highest perfection of life is to satisfy the Lord by one's occupational duty. That is the verdict of Gita and Bhagavatam
- Satrajit happened to be the father-in-law of Krsna, and it is the injunction of the sastras that one who is guru-druha, who has rebelled against a superior person, must be punished in proportion to the severity of the offense
- Sauri, one who is learned, Hari-sauri, one who is learned in the science of Krsna. So try to be a learned scholar in Krsna science and deliver the whole world
- Seeing this (universal brotherhood), one does not envy, exploit or trouble another living entity. Thus one who is a devotee of Krsna automatically develops all good qualities, for he is in the proper consciousness
- Since I (Krsna) found no one else as highly elevated as you (Devaki, then Prsni) in simplicity and other qualities of good character, I appeared in this world as Prsnigarbha, or one who is celebrated as having taken birth from Prsni - SB 10.3.41
- Since Vasudeva is the ultimate truth, Lord Siva openly proclaims that one who is a devotee of Lord Vasudeva, who is surrendered to Lord Krsna, is actually very dear to him
- Smarati nityasah means "continuously remembering," and for one who is continuously remembering Krsna, the Lord becomes tasyaham sulabhah - easily purchased
- So long one is under illusion, he's under the bodily concept of life. Therefore sastra says that one who is in the bodily concept of life, he's animal
- So that is violence required. Tit for tat. One who is going to commit violence unnecessarily, the king, government, should immediately take the sword and kill that person. That is government's duty
- Sometimes one who is very alert so as not to commit sinful acts is victimized by sinful life again. I therefore consider this process of repeated sinning and atoning to be useless
- Sometimes the atheistic class of men take it that any demigod is as good as the S P of Godhead, Visnu. But one who is a devotee knows that no demigod, however great he may be, is independently as good as the Supreme Personality of Godhead
- Sometimes the Supreme Personality of Godhead is described as Uttamasloka, one who is praised by beautiful poetry
- Sometimes the unintelligent put hindrances in the path of chanting this maha-mantra, but one who is situated on the platform of love of Godhead chants the holy name loudly for all concerned. As a result, everyone becomes initiated in the chanting
- Sometimes we may think that the word sadhu refers to a person who is materially good or moral, but actually the word sadhu refers to one who is on the transcendental platform
- Sometimes, one who is engaged in devotional service to the Lord may, on account of old practice, he commits some sinful activities. Krsna forgives him
- Sreya means ultimate benefit of life. That one who is inquisitive to understand about the ultimate goal of life, for him there is need of guru, not a fashion
- Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu then finally advised, "One who is chanting the Hare Krsna mantra is understood to be a Vaisnava; therefore you should offer all respects to him"
- Sri Sanatana Gosvami says: As bell metal is turned to gold when mixed with mercury in an alchemical process, so one who is properly trained and initiated by a bona fide spiritual master immediately becomes a brahmana
- Srila Narottama dasa Thakura has said, deha-smrti nahi yara, samsara bandhana kahan tara. One who is spiritually situated does not think that he is the body
- Srila Narottama dasa Thakura has sung: deha-smrti nahi yara, samsara-bandhana kahan tara. One who is spiritually advanced has no connection with the body or with the bodily actions and reactions
- Srila Rupa Gosvami describes one who is fit for becoming engaged in devotional service
- Srila Rupa Gosvami has explained that jagad-guru properly refers to one who is the controller of his tongue, mind, words, belly, genitals and anger. Prthivim sa sisyat: such a jagad-guru is completely fit to make disciples all over the world
- Srila Rupa Gosvami remarks in this connection that one who is actually attracted by the beauty of the lotus feet of Sri Krsna or His service, and whose heart, by such attraction, is always full with transcendental bliss
- Sripada Sankaracarya has warned the transcendentalists that one who is after transcendental realization should not be attracted by the raised breasts of a woman because they are nothing but an interaction of fat and blood within the body
- Sthita-prajna means one who is steadily situated in the platform of consciousness. Prajna means consciousness, and sthita means steadily fixed up
- Such a person (one who is on the path of liberation by Krsna consciousness) cannot think of any living being as separate from Krsna, just as the leaves and branches of a tree are not separate from the tree. BG 1972 purports
- Such restraint (reducing the tendency for sense enjoyment) automatically develops in the course of one's executing devotional service. Thus one who is already engaged in devotional service need not restrain his senses artificially
- Sukadeva Gosvami declares: kecit kevalaya bhaktya: (SB 6.1.15) "One who is extremely fortunate takes to the process of pure devotional service." Kevala bhakti refers to pure unalloyed devotional service in which there is no desire but to please Krsna
- Sukadeva Gosvami has used the word sraddhanvita for one who is trained in spiritual life. Sraddha, or faith, is the beginning
- Sukadeva Gosvami tells King Pariksit, "He (Krsna) is the supreme worshipable Deity for the devotee, and He is just like an ordinary boy to one who is under the spell of maya"
- Sukadeva Gosvami then glorifies the Lord as one who is honored by the yadu-vara-parisat, the assembly house of the Yadu dynasty, and as the killer of different kinds of demons
- Surrender to authority and know Him by signs. Don't surrender to a fool or a rascal. Find one who is coming in disciplic succession, one who is fully convinced about the Supreme Absolute Truth
- Susrusoh means one who is very inquisitive to hear - at the same time, to render service. These two qualifications. Susrusoh. Sraddadhanasya (SB 1.2.16), with faith. Vasudeva-katha-rucih. For him the taste for hearing krsna-katha is very easy
- Suta - The son of Vaidarbhi, or, in other words, one who is somewhat advanced in fruitive activities and who comes in contact with a devotee spiritual master. Such a person becomes interested in the subject matter of devotional service

- Taste is the seed of devotional service, and one who is fortunate enough to have received such a seed is advised to sow it in the core of his heart. As one cultivates a seed by pouring water to fructify it
- That body, sac-cid-ananda-vigrahah body, means one who is completely conversant with the service, devotional service of... Because you cannot enter into the abode of Krsna with your predominating propensity
- That is the benefit of Krsna consciousness. Sun is never infected. Rather, the infected area becomes sterilized by the sunshine. This is the process. That is explained. Tejiyasam na dosaya. One who is very powerful, he has no fault
- That mentality (there is God and I must submit to Him) is very rare to be found. It has to be created. Therefore you will find not very many followers of this Krsna consciousness movement. But one who is following he is very fortunate
- That padam avyayam or eternal kingdom can be reached by one who is nirmana-moha. What does this mean? BG 1972 Introduction
- The Absolute Truth is one, but one who is trying to understand Him by the dint of his personal knowledge, he approaches up to impersonal Brahman
- The actual duty of one who is advanced in Krsna consciousness is to serve the Lord
- The anagha-suri is one who is a pure devotee of the Lord. Those who are not pure devotees of the Lord, or who want to be on an equal level with Him, are not anagha-suri
- The Bhagavad-gita corroborates the fact that one who is absorbed in the thought of the Supreme Lord at the time of death immediately enters the kingdom of God after quitting his material body
- The Bhagavatam says to one who is intelligent (kovida), - Your life should be engaged for this purpose - for understanding the Absolute Truth
- The Blessed Lord said: One who is unattached to the fruits of his work and who works as he is obligated is in the renounced order of life, and he is the true mystic: not he who lights no fire and performs no work. - BG 6.1 - 1972
- The body is material, but within the body is the soul. This is spiritual understanding. Unfortunately, one who is in ignorance, under the spell of material illusion, accepts the body to be the self. He cannot understand that the body is matter
- The brahmana, one who is qualified as a brahmana, he has to observe the four asramas, a brahmana: the brahmacari-asrama, the grhastha-asrama, the vanaprastha-asrama and sannyasa-asrama
- The Caitanya-caritamrta states that in the Age of Kali the only spiritual function is to broadcast the holy name of the Lord, but this function can be performed only by one who is actually empowered by Lord Krsna
- The champion (Kesava Kasmiri) surrendered unto the Lord (Caitanya), and the Lord favored him. One who is favored by the Lord is freed from material bondage, as stated in the Bhagavad-gita (BG 4.9): tyaktva deham punar janma naiti mam eti so ’rjuna
- The conclusion is that one can begin the process of devotional service, or bhakti, when one is actually self-realized. One who is in the bodily concept of existence cannot understand the process of devotional service
- The conclusion should be to take authoritative knowledge from authorities - one who is beyond the four defects of common man: one who does not make any mistake, one who is not illusioned, one who does not cheat, and one whose senses are perfect
- The demigods are situated in the mode of goodness, but sometimes even one who is situated in such an exalted position as King Indra, the king of all the demigods, falls down because of material opulence. We are now actually seeing this in America
- The demon Yaksas are by nature very heinous, and by their demoniac power of illusion they can create many strange phenomena to frighten one who is less intelligent
- The devotee should try to see all living entities on the same equal level of spiritual existence. As stated in Bhagavad-gita, a pandita, one who is learned, sees equally a very learned brahmana, a sudra, a hog, a dog and a cow
- The devotees are simply interested in being transferred to the personal association of the Lord; they have no more attraction for temporary so-called happiness. That is the position of one who is yoga-yukta
- The disciple must be also serious to understand about the spiritual subject matter. That is knowledge, brahma-jijnasa. One who is inquisitive to know about the Absolute Truth, he requires to approach a guru
- The entanglement of this material world is compared here (in BG 15.1) to a banyan tree. For one who is engaged in fruitive activities, there is no end to the banyan tree. He wanders from one branch to another, to another, to another. BG 1972 purports
- The example set herein is exactly suitable. It is said that one who is hungry is never satisfied by anything other than food
- The first-class position (brahmana) is one who is aware of the Absolute Truth, he is in the goodness. Less awareness is the ksatriya, or in the modes of passion. Less awareness is the vaisyas. And the sudra, they are in in the darkness, unawareness
- The form of the Lord with a flute in His hands is most attractive, and the one who is most sublimely attracted is Srimati Radharani, Radhika. She enjoys supremely blissful association with Krsna
- The future is always dark for one who is grossly covered by ignorance
- The ghostly body means one who is living in the subtle body. Ghost is a fact; it is not fictitious
- The gopis are perfectly in trance, samadhi, the highest perfectional stage of mystic power. In the Bhagavad-gita, it is confirmed that one who is constantly thinking of Krsna is a first-class yogi among all kinds of yogis
- The heart of one who is highly elevated and grave is compared with gold. If one's heart is very soft and gentle, his heart is compared with a cotton swab
- The holy name and the Lord are identical. One who is completely free from the clutches of maya can understand this fact
- The human form of life is meant for understanding this transcendental land of Vrndavana, and one who is fortunate should cultivate knowledge of Vrndavana and its residents
- The idea is that one who is favored by Lord Siva or any other demigod may not necessarily be favored by the Supreme Lord Sri Krsna
- The idea that because Narayana is present in the heart of one who is daridra, or poor, the poor man should be called daridra-narayana is a wrong conception
- The influence of one who is very influential is also Krsna
- The killing of the animal in the slaughterhouse, that is gross killing, and another killing is one who is killing himself without knowledge. That is also killing. He got this human form of life, but without sufficient knowledge he's killing himself
- The kings said, "Dear Lord (Krsna), Your name is Govinda, the reservoir of all pleasure, because one who is engaged in satisfying Your senses satisfies his own senses automatically"
- The Krsna consciousness movement, however, is meant for one who is no longer jealous or envious. By becoming free from jealousy and envy, one becomes a perfect person. Dharmah projjhita-kaitavo 'tra paramo nirmatsaranam satam - SB 1.1.2
- The literal meaning of Hiranyakasipu is one who is after gold and soft bedding, the ultimate aim of all materialistic men
- The living being is constitutionally a servitor, and not one who is served
- The Lord (Krsna) is so kind that He does not show special favor only to one who is a great philosopher. He knows the sincerity of purpose. For this reason only, women generally assemble in great number in any sort of religious function
- The Lord (Krsna) says, mam eva ye prapadyante mayam etam taranti te: (BG 7.14) "One who is surrendered unto Me cannot be conquered by the illusory energy"
- The Lord affirms in Bhagavad-gita (BG 18.54-55): One who is thus transcendentally situated at once realizes the Supreme Brahman and becomes fully joyful. He never laments nor desires to have anything; he is equally disposed to every living entity
- The Lord definitely says that no one is more dear to Him than one who is always engaged in the preaching work of the Lord's name and fame all over the world
- The Lord has already explained to Arjuna the knowledge of brahmabhuta. One who is in the brahma-bhuta condition is joyful; he never laments, nor does he desire anything. That is due to confidential knowledge. BG 1972 purports
- The Lord Himself says: For one who is attracted by My activities out of his own accord - being neither lured nor repelled by material activities - the path of devotional service leading to the perfection of love of God becomes possible
- The Lord is addressed here (in SB 8.5.27) as vipascitam, one who is full of all knowledge or who knows everything. The Lord is the Supreme Soul, and He knows everything about the living entities and their senses
- The Lord is mentioned herein (SB 1.12.11) as one who is dressed in the ten directions. This means dressed with garments on ten sides, up and down
- The Lord is self-satisfied because He is fully opulent, and one who is satisfied by serving Him is called bhagavata atmaramah
- The Lord is sometimes addressed as uttamasloka, which means "one who is worshiped with selected words by devotees"
- The Lord is the vanquisher of the distresses of one who is surrendered unto Him. Thus He who desired to destroy His family told me previously to go to Badarikasrama
- The Lord says in Bhagavad-gita (18.54): One who is thus transcendentally situated at once realizes the Supreme Brahman and becomes fully joyful. He never laments nor desires to have anything
- The Lord, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, can be understood by one who is favored by the Lord; the Lord cannot be understood by others
- The madhyama-adhikari should be considered to be situated midway in devotional service. The uttama-adhikari, or highest devotee, is one who is very advanced in devotional service
- The man, the man or woman, one who are very much sexually attached, he is a rascal. One should give up his company. And another rascal who is not a devotee of Krsna
- The material body is called dvitiya, or "the second." One who is absorbed in this second element or second exhibition of the spirit is afraid of death
- The material nature is working in three modes - goodness, passion, and ignorance. Ignorance is hopeless life. Passion is materialistic. One who is influenced by the modes of passion wants this false enjoyment of material existence
- The materialist is called yosit-sangi, or one who is much attached to material entanglement (women and other paraphernalia)
- The Mayavadi philosophers cannot understand these two prakrtis, or natures - material and spiritual - but one who is actually intelligent can understand them
- The name of the Lord can be chanted by one who is completely freed from material contamination (anyabhilasita-sunyam jnana-karmady-anavrtam (Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu 1.1.11))
- The one who is intelligent, he will take this process that, "I have tried my best to become happy, but everything is failure. Now let me surrender to Krsna." That's all
- The one who is questioning, he should be submissive, not in a challenging mood; and one who is answering, he should remember the lotus feet of the Lord so that right answer can come from Him
- The one who is working as a gardener, he is as good as the one who is dressing the Deity, because it is Absolute plane
- The only leader is Krishna and one who is Krishna Conscious. Others are simply misleaders
- The opposite is bhagavata-sangi, or one who is always in the association with the Lord's name, form, qualities, etc. Such association is always desirable; it is worshipable, it is praiseworthy, and one may accept it as the highest goal of life
- The order of Krsna is to chant His name incessantly. Therefore one who is chaste and adherent to the husband Krsna must chant the Lord's name, for she cannot deny the husband's order
- The path of renunciation is recommended for acceptance by one who is fully accomplished and fully purified in his existence. This stage is described also in the Bhagavad-gita (BG 16.5) as daivi sampat
- The person who is very careful about his health does not generally fall ill. Similarly a person who is always fixed up in Krishna Consciousness cannot be defeated by maya
- The Personality of Godhead means one who is full with all power, all energy, all opulences, all beauties, all knowledge and all renunciation
- The philosophy of acintya-bhedabheda-tattva (simultaneously one and different) cannot be understood by one who is fully under the influence of the external energy
- The present blunt senses, material senses, all are imperfect. Even we hear the Lord's name, namadi, atah sri-krsna-namadi . . . just like we are chanting. One who is spiritually advanced, he's enjoying this Hare Krsna, Krsna's name
- The process of mystic yoga, the speculative method for searching out the Supreme Absolute Truth, does not appeal to one who is always absorbed in thoughts of Krsna
- The process of the Supreme Personality of Godhead is very wonderful. One who is intelligent should accept that process and be satisfied with whatever comes, favorable or unfavorable, by His supreme will
- The prohibitions are mentioned in the authorized scriptures: One should not indulge in illicit sex life, intoxication, meat eating or gambling. These things are forbidden to one who is attempting devotional service
- The purport of this verse (SU 6.23) is that one who is unflinchingly devoted to the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Visnu, and similarly devoted to the spiritual master, with no ulterior motive, becomes a master of all knowledge
- The question of creation is also one of such inquiries to be made to the right person. The spiritual master, therefore, must be one who is sama jna, as stated hereinbefore in connection with Sukadeva Gosvami
- The question who is better-one who is engaged in the path of impersonal Brahman or one who is engaged in the personal service of the Supreme Personality of Godhead-was raised by Arjuna. BG 1972 purports
- The real beauty is Krsna and Radha. One who is attracted by the beauty of Radha and Krsna cannot be attracted by the false beauty of this material world. That is the difference between a demon and a godly person or devotee
- The religious wars between the Hindus and Moslems and Christians and non-Christians were all conducted on the basis of ignorance. One who is in knowledge knows that God is one; He cannot be Moslem, Hindu or Christian
- The rsis in the forest called him (Bharata) Sarvadaman, or one who is able to control everyone because of the boy's becoming so strong, more than the so-called modern Tarzan
- The so-called learned scholars, Vedantists, so-called Vedantists . . . one who is actual Vedant . . . knower of Vedanta, he understands the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Krsna. Because veda means knowledge, and anta, "The last phase." Knowledge
- The social classes can be further characterized as follows: (3) He who is engaged in agriculture, herding cows and carrying out a trade or business is called a vaisya
- The spirit soul is equal in either a man or woman. One who is actually engaged in the service of Krishna, there is no such distinction as man or woman
- The spiritual master is as good as the Supreme Personality of Godhead, and therefore one who is very serious about spiritual advancement must regard the spiritual master in this way. Even a slight deviation from this understanding can create disaster
- The sun is present now, and in all his aspect. He is present in his six o'clock, seven o'clock, eight o'clock, nine o'clock, and twenty-four hours he is present." One who is less intelligent, think that, - What this man is thinking? What he is speaking?
- The Supreme Lord, Krsna, is the father of all living entities in different species and forms. One who is intelligent can see that all living entities in the 8,400,000 bodily forms are part of the Supreme Personality of Godhead and are His sons

- To understand the truth, what is the truth there, that without something this body is dead, no more value, and with that something the body is so valuable. So one who is intelligent, he'll try to find out what is that truth

- Undeviating concentration on the Supreme Lord is the first sign of pure devotion. In other words, a pure devotee is one who wards off all desires and thoughts not related to unflinching devotional service to the Supreme Lord
- Undoubtedly it is troublesome to go from one place to another, but one who is intelligent can take shelter of the lotus feet of Govinda and thereby be automatically sanctified as the result of his pilgrimage
- Unfortunately, in this yuga, Kali-yuga, the religious principles are tampered with, and the government cannot properly judge who is to be punished and who is not. It is said that in the Kali-yuga if one cannot spend money in court, one cannot get justice
- Unless one hears from a bona fide acarya, who is never disturbed by the changes of the material world, one cannot have the real key to transcendental knowledge

- Vasudeva began to address Kamsa by putting forward reasonable arguments. Vasudeva was a great personality because he knew how to pacify a cruel person and how to forgive the bitterest enemy. One who is fortunate is never caught, even by tigers or snakes
- Vedanta means "the ultimate knowledge." And what is that knowledge? Krsna explains in the Bhagavad-gita (7.19): bahunam janmanam ante jnanavan mam prapadyate. After many births, one who is actually in knowledge at last surrenders unto Me

- We are giving equal rights to everyone. Either grhastha or brahmacari or sannyasi, the main center is Krsna. One who is advanced in Krsna consciousness is all right
- We can understand where we are going. So one who is going to a higher level of life - and the most perfection of life is go back to home, back go Godhead - he's not afraid of death

- What is the meaning of "national"? One who is born in that land. Suppose you are American. You are born in this land of America; therefore you are American national. Why not the cats and the dogs and the cows? They are also national
- What is the sign, what is the symptom of such guru where I shall get real information? That is also stated: jijnasuh sreya uttamam, sabde pare ca nisnatam. One who is fully aware of the transcendental science or words, sabda, sabda-brahma
- What is to be said of one who is related to the Supreme Personality of Godhead as a servant, friend, father, mother or conjugal lover
- What is unholy association? It is association with one who is too much attached to women and with one who is not a devotee of Lord Krsna. These are unholy persons
- What profit will he get, one who is very steadily engaged in his occupational duty? He's simply a loser because he does not know what is the aim of his life
- Whatever his condition may be, one who is engaged fully with his body, mind and speech in the service of the Lord is liberated, even within this body
- When a person becomes ghostly-haunted, he talks all nonsense. Similarly, one who is under the influence of maya, he also talks. So this machine has proved successful even for a single man or children?
- When one associates with one who is in illusion or mislead naturally he will also become influenced by that illusion
- When one comes to the platform of elevated knowledge, he naturally becomes a vegetarian. Panditah sama-darsinah: (BG 5.18) one who is very highly learned does not distinguish between a learned scholar, a brahmana, an elephant, a dog and a cow
- When one offers respect to the body, it is not to the material body but to the presence of the Supreme Lord. Thus one who is always in meditation upon the Supreme Lord is always offering Him obeisances
- Whether he is an impersonalist or a devotee, one who is actually interested in advancing spiritually should not mingle with those who are simply interested in maintaining the body by means of the so-called advancement of civilization
- While working to earn his livelihood as much as necessary to maintain body and soul together, one who is actually learned should live in human society unattached to family affairs, although externally appearing very much attached
- Who is animal? Even if he is two-legged, but still, if he remains an animal . . . Who? Yasyatma-buddhih kunape tri-dhatuke (SB 10.84.13). One who is thinking of this body as identified with the self, he is animal
- Who is mahajana? Mahajana. In India, a mahajana is accepted who can give you loan, money. He's called mahajana. Not that, that all. It is, it is a perverted word. But mahajana means a, one who is pure devotee of the Lord
- Who keeps himself aloof from this transcendental vibration of sound? Vina pasughnat: simply the person who is animal killer. Therefore, meat-eating is so dangerous for a devotee. Because one who is animal killer, he'll never be attracted
- Who lives forever? One who has got reputation for his . . . one who is famous for his good activities. - So don't try to lose your (Arjuna's) reputation
- Who needs a guru? A third-class, fourth-class man, ordinary man, doesn't require a guru. To keep a guru or to have a guru is not a fashion. One who is very serious to understand spiritual life, he requires a guru. Otherwise, there is no need of guru
- Who requires a guru? Jijnasu sreya uttamam. One who is very much anxious to know about the ultimate benefit of life, for him guru is required. Not a fashion. Just like we keep a dog as a fashion. Nowadays it is a fashion to keep a dog

- Yajno danam tapas caiva pavanani manisinam (BG 18.5): even one who is very much advanced in spiritual realization must still execute the Vedic principles. Even in the lowest stage, the karmis are advised to work for the sake of the Lord
- Yamaraja, the controller of all living entities, fears the order of Krsna, yet Krsna is afraid of His mother's stick. These contradictions cannot be understood by one who is not a devotee

- You laugh at us when you see us awake at night, but why are you not sleeping? You seem absorbed in thoughts of Krsna. Have you also been pierced by Krsna’s smile? His smile is very sweet. One who is pierced by such an arrow is very fortunate
- You will find that one who is very experienced medical practitioner, he gives you a prescription, and you visit him again and again, he gives you the same prescription, unless you are cured
