- In the Brahma-samhita it is said that all the material manifestations with innumerable universes appear and disappear with the breathing of Maha-visnu lying in yoga-nidra, or mystic sleep

- Kaliya, who is also known as Kadrusuta, son of Kadru, immediately fled to the lake known as Kaliya-hrada, which lay within the Yamuna River and which Garuda could not approach
- Kamadinam kati na katidha palita durnidesa: "There is no limit to the unwanted orders of lusty desires." (Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu 3.2.25) When we come to the understanding that our pleasure lies in serving Krsna only, we have attained jnana-vairagya

- O best of the brahmanas, many men have laid down their lives on the battlefield, being unafraid of fighting, but rarely has one gotten the chance to give his accumulated wealth faithfully to a saintly person who creates holy places
- O brahmana, fully in knowledge of transcendence, you have nothing to do, and therefore you are lying down. It is also understood that you have no money for sense enjoyment. How then has your body become so fat?
- On the Bowery, there are so many drunkards lying in the street, and they're all thinking, "We are enjoying life." But those who are passing them by are thinking, "Oh how miserable they are." That is the way of the illusory energy
- Once at night, while it was raining, a tiger entered the land of the cowshed. Upon seeing the tiger, all the cows, who were lying down, got up in fear and scattered here and there on the land

- Our material experience lies within the boundaries of these three manifestations of happiness, distress and illusion
- Our potency lies in presenting our understanding of Krsna as he is, as the Supreme Personality of Godhead. We cannot compromise in any one with any other understanding. Hoping this meets you in good health

- Pariksit inquired from Sukadeva, "How had he achieved so much power that instantly, by his glance, Kalayavana was burned to ashes? How did he happen to be lying down in the cave of the hill?" He put many questions before Sukadeva
- Perfection for a jnani lies in attaining the stage of brahma-bhuta, or self-realization. Only after self-realization is attained does the stage of understanding devotional service begin

- Radharani sleeps in Her room with the aroma of pride, and when She lies down in Her bed, the transcendental variety of Her loving ecstasies is like a jeweled locket in the midst of Her necklace of separation
- Real goodness lies in the activities of karma-yoga, even if one is only in the preliminary stages. Further, a karma-yogi makes progressive headway life after life, and this is confirmed as follows in the Bhagavad-gita - 6.43
- Real religion lies dormant when artificial religion dominates from the mental plane. A living being can awaken this dormant religion by hearing with a pure heart

- Rsabha Hill (Anagada-malaya-parvata) lies twelve miles north of Madurai City, in the district of Madurai, in southern Tamil Nadu. It is one of the mountains known as the Kutakacalas

- Sankara massaged the legs of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, but while massaging he would fall asleep and thus lie down

- That (giving charity to beggar) may still be goodness. But in your Bowery Street, they give some charity, and immediately he (a beggar) purchases one bottle of wine & drinks & lies down flat. So that is charity. But that is not goodness; that is ignorance
- That Maha-Visnu who lies on the Causal Ocean is actually an expansion of Balarama, who is Krsna's first expansion, and, in the Vrndavana pastimes, is the brother of Krsna
