S

- The whole scheme of Bhagavad-gita is like that, that we have to stand on the spiritual consciousness of life
- The whole world is full of cheaters and cheated. Because they want to be cheated, there are so many cheaters. They don't want real thing. Here is the real thing: Bhagavad-gita, the Supreme Personality of Godhead speaking personally about Himself
- The wise men, the great sages and pure devotees, are to drink the nectarean milk of Bhagavad-gita. BG 1972 Introduction

- The yoga system as recommended in Bhagavad-gita is to concentrate the mental activities internally and thus see the lotus feet of the Lord within oneself
- Then to the stage of liberation, and finally, after liberation, to the understanding of what Krsna is. This process is also indicated in Bhagavad-gita - 18.54
- There are a great number of mayayapahrta-jnanas at the present moment, even amongst the scholars of the Gita. BG 1972 purports
- There are about six hundred different types of editions commenting on Bhagavad-gita. But according to Bhagavad-gita, all these six hundred editions in different, studied from different angle of vision, they are all absurd and nonsense
- There are big scholars, politicians, philosophers and scientists who speak on Bhagavad-gita in their own polluted way, and people in general hear from them, being uninterested in hearing the glories of the Supreme Personality of Godhead from a devotee
- There are different yajnas prescribed (in Bhagavad-gita) for different ages, & in the present age of iron industry the yajna that enlightens the mind of the masses for God consciousness is recommended. This process of yajna is called the sankirtana-yajna

- There are many commentaries in English on the Bhagavad-gita, and one may question the necessity for another one. This present edition can be explained in the following way. BG 1972 Introduction
- There are many prescriptions of methods (in Bhagavad-gita) for performing sacrifice for some particular purpose in the Vedic literatures. BG 1972 purports
- There are no distinctions, for it is declared by the Lord in Bhagavad-gita that anyone engaged specifically in devotional service is elevated to the transcendental position without a doubt
- There are others who make Him (the Supreme Lord) subordinate to the impersonal feature, although the opposite is declared in the Gita. BG 1972 purports
- There are so many contraceptive methods, birth control. Still, the population increasing. Increasing. So these are not solution. Real solution is here in the Bhagavad-gita
- There are so many rascal philosophers. You also preach your own philosophy. Why do you take Bhagavad-gita? And where is nonviolence in Bhagavad-gita
- There are three prasthanas on the path of advancement in spiritual knowledge - namely, nyaya-prasthana (Vedanta philosophy), sruti-prasthana (the Upanisads and Vedic mantras) and smrti-prasthana - the Bhagavad-gita, Mahabharata, Puranas, etc
- There are various theories regarding consciousness. Here in Bhagavad-gita the example of the sun and the sunshine is given. BG 1972 purports

- There is another gita, Uddhava-gita. That was spoken to Uddhava. That is in Bhagavata; this is in Mahabharata, Bhagavad-gita

- There is no difference between the teachings of Lord Caitanya presented here and the teachings of Lord Krsna in the Bhagavad-gita. The teachings of Lord Caitanya are practical demonstrations of Lord Krsna’s teachings - CC Preface
- There is no question of giving anything up in Krsna consciousness. That is the sum and substance of the Bhagavad-gita. Arjuna also thought like that "I shall not fight and fell silent" but Krsna did not approve of this sentimental attitude of Arjuna
- There is no subject matter there. You have no right to bring that. That is our fault - to bring a horse before a cart. We are talking of Bhagavad-gita. There is no mention of Krsna and gopis' saris there
- There is no, in the educational system, no Bhagavad-gita. Just see how much unfortunate
- These are the symptoms of mahatmas. So we have to make position that bhajana is so important. And Bhagavad-gita is meant for all solution of material problems, but we are not accepting it
- These foolish people, they do not know. They think that by interpreting Bhagavad-gita by their so-called rascaldom knowledge, they can reveal Bhagavad-gita. That is not possible. Naham prakasah yogamaya-samavrtah
- These rascal leaders, they'll not allow. They will be represent Krsna as something else. The, the only business is to kill Krsna. That's all. Not to accept Krsna is fact. All the big commentaries on Bhagavad-gita, you'll see
- These sufferings (ultimate sufferings) are pointed out in Bhagavad-gita as janma-mrtyu-jara-vyadhi: (BG 13.9) birth, death, old age, and disease. What have we done to nullify these sufferings? There is no remedy for them in the material world
- These words (Acyuta and Hrsikesa) are used in these verses (of SB 9.4.18-20). Acyuta-sat-kathodaye, hrsikesa-padabhivandane. The words Acyuta and Hrsikesa are also used in Bhagavad-gita
- They (human society) will have to be reinstated in that original position in terms of the above slokas of the Bhagavad-gita. Without this no solution is possible
- They (People) do not know the real problem. The real problem is... It is stated in the Bhagavad-gita: janma-mrtyu-jara-vyadhi (BG 13.9), birth, death, old age and disease. This is real problem
- They (Sankhya philosophers, metaphysicians or materialistic scientists) wrongly conclude that the reactions of the material elements are the original cause of creation. The Bhagavad-gita, however, does not accept this theory
- They (the philosophers who do not believe that God comes as an incarnation) say, "Why should God come to this rotten world?" But from Bhagavad-gita we understand otherwise
- They also speak on Bhagavad-gita, but not a single person was Krsna conscious. And since we have presented Bhagavad-gita As It Is, hundreds and thousands. This is the proof, that they presented something concoction
- They are (men whose knowledge is immature and contaminated by the modes of material nature worship various demigods, according to their intelligence) rebuked in Bhagavad-gita (kamais tais tair hrta-jnanah prapadyante 'nya-devatah) - BG 7.20
- They are becoming big lecturer on Bhagavad-gita, he has understood Krsna means "black," that's all. And people are following blindly. Big svamiji is speaking
- They have become so fools and rascals that they do not understand this simple truth as it is said in the beginning of Bhagavad-gita, tatha dehantara-praptih
- They have got university degrees. But why they do not do it? They are supposed to be very culturally advanced. So the answer is given there in the Bhagavad-gita, mayayapahrta-jnana asuram bhavam asritah (BG 7.15). Because their intention is to deny God
- They should not try to teach Bhagavad-gita to others, because he has no knowledge. This knowledge has to be received by parampara system. So simply by academic career, by knowledge of A-B-C-D, you cannot understand Bhagavad-gita

- This (CC Madhya 22.94) is a quotation from the Bhagavad-gita (BG 18.66) spoken by Lord Krsna. For an explanation, refer to Madhya-lila 8.63

- This is a quotation (of CC Antya 4.177) from the Bhagavad-gita - BG 5.18
- This is a quotation (of CC Antya 4.178) from the Bhagavad-gita - BG 6.8
- This is a quotation (of CC Antya 8.67-68) from the Bhagavad-gita - BG 6.16-17

- This is a quotation from the Bhagavad-gita - BG 3.21
- This is a verse (of CC Madhya 25.155) from the Bhagavad-gita - BG 18.54
- This is also confirmed in Bhagavad-gita (BG 9.30): Even if one commits the most abominable actions, if he is engaged in devotional service he is to be considered saintly because he is properly situated
- This is basis of Gita. Tad viddhi pranipatena pariprasnena sevaya (BG 4.34). Learn from the real person, tattva-darsinah, who has seen, who has actual experience of the truth. Learn from him
- This is stated in Bhagavad-gita (9.34): Engage your mind always in thinking of Me and become My devotee. Offer obeisances and worship Me. Being completely absorbed in Me, surely you will come to Me
- This is summarized in the Vedic language, sarvam khalv idam brahma. Without Krsna there is nothing existing. In the Bhagavad-gita it is said, maya tatam idam sarvam (BG 9.4). Whatever we see, very superior or inferior, good or bad, that is all from Krsna
- This is the beginning of the Bhagavad-gita, when the preliminary knowledge of the soul is there. And you will find that there are only a few who can understand the existence of the soul as permanent, and of the body as changeable
- This is the common platform - Bhagavad-gita. Everyone, come and take to Krsna consciousness. Understand God and learn how to love Him, and your life will be perfect
- This is the real goal of life: After attaining Me, the great souls, who are yogis in devotion, never return to this temporary world, which is full of miseries, because they have attained the highest perfection (BG 8.15). That is the version of BG
- This Krsna book, Bhagavad-gita, is very well known, so take this opportunity, both ladies and gentlemen in India, and present Krsna consciousness without any adulteration
- This material world is certified by the Lord in the Bhagavad-gita as a dangerous place full of calamities. Less intelligent persons prepare plans to adjust to those calamities without knowing that the nature of this place is itself full of calamities
- This one book, Bhagavad-gita, will suffice because it is the essence of all Vedic literatures and because it is spoken by the Supreme Personality of Godhead. BG 1972 Introduction
- This one book, Bhagavad-gita, will suffice, because it is the essence of all Vedic literatures and especially because it is spoken by the Supreme Personality of Godhead
- This very example is cited in Bhagavad-gita: one should become like the ocean. The ocean is filled by many thousands of rivers, and millions of tons of its water evaporates into clouds, yet the ocean is the same unagitated ocean
- This very process (sitting in an easy posture) is also recommended in Bhagavad-gita, Sixth Chapter. It is further suggested that one sit in a secluded, sanctified spot. The seat should consist of deerskin and kusa grass, topped with cotton
- Those who are envious of Krsna as the SP of Godhead have no bona fide access to the great literature (of Bhagavad-gita). The nondevotee's approach to the teachings of the Gita is something like bees licking on a bottle of honey. BG 1972 purports
- Those who are impersonalists are also imagining that they are seeing the universal form of the Lord, but from Bhagavad-gita we understand that the impersonalists are not devotees. Therefore they are unable to see the universal form. BG 1972 purports
- Those who are in the mode of goodness can partially enter into the transcendental understanding, but it is advised in Bhagavad-gita that one has to surpass this

- Those who are tattva-darsih, those who have seen the truth, we have to take knowledge from them - that is direction in the Bhagavad-gita - not from the third-class men
- Three paths are enunciated in the Bhagavad-gita: karma-yoga, jnana-yoga and bhakti-yoga. Those who are too much addicted to fruitive activities are advised to perform actions which will bring them to bhakti

- Try to get knowledge directly from the Supreme Lord, as Bhagavad-gita is being spoken by the Supreme Lord, or statements of the pure devotees, just like Brahma is speaking. This way. Hearing. The main purpose is hearing, hearing from the right source
- Try to maintain the standard of a perfect person as is given in the Bhagavad-gita, and do not deviate from this wonderful method of Krishna consciousness
- Try to maintain the standard of a perfect person as is given in the Bhagavad-gita, and do not deviate from this wonderful method of Krishna consciousness. Follow the rules very carefully, chant at least 16 rounds, and read our books over and over
U
- Unfortunately, before this in the Western countries there was so many translation of Bhagavad-gita, but everyone's attempt is to make Krsna - minus Bhagavad-gita. They are commenting Bhagavad-gita without Krsna; kingdom of God without God
- Unfortunately, Mayavadi philosophers consider devotional activities to be bodily activities. They cannot understand the simple explanation in the BG 14.26 - mam ca yo ’vyabhicarena bhakti-yogena sevate sa gunan samatityaitan brahma-bhuyaya kalpate
- Unfortunately, there are many scholars, academic scholars of Bhagavad-gita, but because they do not come in the disciplic succession from Krsna, they misinterpret the real sense of Bhagavad-gita
- Unfortunately, there are many scholars, academic scholars of Bhagavad-gita, but because they do not come in the disciplic succession from Krsna, they misinterpret the real sense of Bhagavad-gita and mislead the whole human society
- Universal consciousness knows your pains and pleasure, my pains and pleasure, and millions and trillions of living entities and bodies, He knows the pains and pleasures of everyone. These are the statements in the BG
V
- Vasudeva is the original Personality of Godhead, who has unlimited spiritual activities. Srimad-Bhagavatam is a record of such activities, and Bhagavad-gita is the record of Vasudeva speaking personally
- Vedanta-sutra is known as nyaya-prasthana, the Upanisads are known as sruti-prasthana, and the Gita, Mahabharata and Puranas are known as smrti-prasthana
- Vedic literatures are called revealed. It is not that I can understand by your ABCD knowledge; I can purchase one Bhagavad-gita, and because I have grammatical knowledge, I can understand. No. Vedesu durlabha
- Verses 164 and 165 (of CC Madhya) are quotations from the Bhagavad-gita - BG 7.4-5
- Vyasadeva and Lord Krsna are both on the transcendental plane, and therefore they collaborated in doing good to the fallen souls of this age. The BG is the essence of all Vedic knowledge. It is the first book of spiritual values, as the Upanisads are
- Vyasadeva given us immense literature. Immense literature. He has written Mahabharata. He has written the eighteen puranas. One of the puranas is the Bhagavata Purana. And he has written the Upanisads
W
- We accept knowledge from authority. Authority. Just like this statement is given by Krsna. Krsna is accepted as the authority by all the acaryas, in the Bhagavad-gita
- We are changing this body on account of presence of this life. In this way there are so many so-called scholars of Bhagavad-gita, they do not understand even the first lesson actually. Asmin dehe. Dehino 'smin yatha dehe
- We are doing. As far as possible, we have got center. The people are so overintelligent, don't take it. - Ah, what Hare Krsna? We have heard it. Ah, we have seen Bhagavad-gita
- We are eternal, blissful, and full of knowledge, but having been covered by this material entanglement, we have forgotten ourselves. Therefore Bhagavad-gita gives us the advantage of being able to revive our original status
- We are eternal. We understand from Bhagavad-gita, na hanyate hanyamane sarire (BG 2.20). So if I am eternal, then why I am accepting death? This is real question. But foolishly we are thinking, "I am this body": therefore we remain as an animal
- We are not creating anything. It (BG & CC) is not a manufactured thing, concocted thing. It is standard, followed by great acaryas like Caitanya. So we have to accept. That is the way
- We are preaching on the basis of Bhagavad-gita, the most exalted vedic literature. The atheistic arya samaj does not believe in Bhagavad-gita. Therefore they are not strictly speaking followers of the Vedic varnasrama dharma
- We are presenting a scientific program of God conciousness on the basis of the highest authority, Bhagavad-gita
- We are repeatedly asking everyone to study Bhagavad-gita as it is. Don't become a learned scholar and interpret foolishly or differently from Bhagavad-gita. Everything is there
- We are so foolish that we do not take advantage of them (devotees of God and Bhagavad-gita). We do not take advantage of His devotee, who hankers to give this knowledge, sacrificing everything
- We can become happy when we are reinstated in our constitutional position, and Bhagavad-gita is meant to reinstate us in that position
- We cannot order the Supreme Personality of Godhead to do anything for us. We can simply offer Him our obeisances, as advised in Bhagavad-gita (man-mana bhava mad-bhakto mad-yaji mam namaskuru (BG 18.65)), and pray to Him for annihilation of dangers
- We cannot understand how the Supreme Personality of Godhead can be impersonal; the imposition theory of the impersonalist monist is false as far as the statements of the Gita are concerned. BG 1972 purports
- We do not know what is the position of my real self. That we do not know. This is called ignorance. That instruction is given in the Bhagavad-gita in the beginning: na hanyate hanyamane sarire
- We have described several times that there are two kinds of krsna-katha, represented by Bhagavad-gita, spoken personally by Krsna about Himself, and Srimad-Bhagavatam, spoken by Sukadeva Gosvami about the glories of Krsna
- We have explained this Bhagavad-gita in the parampara system as we have heard from authoritative sources. So it may be a new contribution to your country, because in every edition they have concocted some ideas about Bhagavad-gita
- We have got a crucial test, that anyone who does not know about Krsna, he is put into four different types of categories, as it is stated in the Bhagavad-gita
- We have got abhadrani, so many inauspicious things, within our heart. This can be cleansed simply by hearing the message of Krsna from Srimad-Bhagavatam, from Bhagavad-gita, from the lips of devotees
- We have got Bhagavad-gita and all Vedic literatures. By learning, by practicing, we can make our life perfectly and then distribute the knowledge. This is India's business
- We have got our school, Dallas. We are teaching the small children to make the boys first-class men, as it is enunciated in the Bhagavad-gita, and woman to become very faithful and chaste. That's all
- We have heard many times of the yoga system. The yoga system is approved by Bhagavad-gita, but the yoga system in Bhagavad-gita is especially meant for purification
- We have just received advance copies of the Bhagavad-gita Chinese translation, the first 6 chapters. Might this be of some value to your preaching work in South Korea
- We have no difficulty. If you say, "How can I take instruction from Krsna? Krsna is not present." No, Krsna is present by His instruction. The Bhagavad-gita is there
- We have published many books, including Sri Caitanya-caritamrta in seventeen volumes, four hundred pages each, as well as Bhagavad-gita and The Nectar of Devotion
- We have taken Bhagavad-gita as the standard of all human activities. If the leaders of the human society take it as standard, then all the problems will be solved. That we can give practical suggestions for
- We have taken Bhagavad-gita as the standard of all human activities. If the leaders of the human society take it as standard, then all the problems will be solved. That we can give practical suggestions. Any plan of the atheists will never be successful
- We have to accept our leader according to the standard symptoms - or qualifications. The standard text book for civilized administration is Bhagavad-gita and Srimad-Bhagavatam
- We have to accept perfect knowledge which comes down, as is stated in Bhagavad-gita, by the parampara disciplic succession. BG 1972 Introduction
- We have to associate with sadhu, means who have completely dedicated life for Krsna's service. That is the injunction in the Bhagavad-gita
- We have to change this body (tatha dehantara-praptih (BG 2.13)). If we do not care about Bhagavad-gita and Srimad-Bhagavatam, we do not know what the next body will be
- We have to follow the footprints of great saints and sages, those who have achieved success by this indication of Bhagavad-gita. Don't follow your whims. Take the standard advice. Just try to become Krsna conscious
- We have to learn from Bhagavan, the Supreme Person, full knowledge. This Bhagavad-gita is therefore full knowledge from the full Personality of Godhead. We cannot change even one word in this Bhagavad-gita. That is folly
- We have to learn the lessons of Gita from the authorized disciplic succession as it is advised there in the book. Unfortunately every one not in that line tries to explain Gita in his own way and this process is misguided the people
- We have to see through the sastra characteristic of a rascal, that he is not Krsna conscious. That's all. We may be fool, but we take lesson from Bhagavad-gita. That's all. And from the lesson we understand you are rascal number one. That's all
- We may think very..., that we are very safe and we are making good advancement in economic development, but there is no solution for these four problems, as enunciated by Bhagavad-gita, janma, mrtyu, jara, vyadhi
- We must enter into the spirit of Bhagavad-gita and not approach it simply from the viewpoint of erudition
- We often hear it said that God is infallible, and in BG Krsna states: When you see that there is nothing beyond these modes of nature in all activities and that the Supreme Lord is transcendental to all these modes, then you can know My spiritual nature
- We only need to stick to this Krsna consciousness movement on the basis of Bhagavad-gita. When we are a little further advanced, we can read Srimad-Bhagavatam
- We read Bhagavad-gita, the words of Krsna. Then how we can change the meaning of Gita when it is spoken by Lord? Does it mean that I am greater than the Lord? - Krsna left something to be told
- We see His energies working in this material world all the time. There is thunder and rain, and from rain comes the food we enjoy. This process is outlined in Bhagavad-gita - 3.14
- We should be careful not to miss the special opportunity of human life. Sri Krsna Himself comes to deliver Bhagavad-gita and to help us to become God conscious. Indeed, this very material creation is given to us to utilize for this cultivation
- We should become submissive and hear of the Supreme through the authoritative sources such as Bhagavad-gita or through the lips of a realized soul
- We should take advantage of these (scriptures), especially of Bhagavad-gita, which is the prime scripture for the modern world
- We should take Bhagavad-gita as it is directed by the Personality of Godhead Himself. BG 1972 Introduction
- We try to drag concocted meanings out of the simple passages of Bhagavad-gita to establish some man-made idea which is never supported by Bhagavad-gita. By such artificial dragging, one cannot ultimately establish his rubbish theory
- We want freedom, and we want to travel all over the world and all over the universe. Indeed, that is our right as spirit soul. The spirit soul in Bhagavad-gita is called sarva-gatah, which means that he has the ability to go wherever he likes
- We want to display doll exhibitions in every center of our society depicting some narration from Bhagwatam, Mahabharat, Caitanya Caritamrita, Bhagavad Gita like that
- We want to establish that one God, Krishna; one scripture, Bhagavad-gita; one mantra Hare Krishna; and one work, service to the Supreme Lord. And people are responding. So please try to cooperate with me
- What we are just introducing - Bhagavatam, Bhagavad-gita, Puranas, and live simple life, keeping cows, village life as it is exhibited by Krsna
- When a human being enters into the study of the Vedas to obtain vidya, knowledge, he advances to sankhya-yoga, in order to understand the supreme controller, who is indicated in Bhagavad-gita - BG 10.12
- When it is clear, there is no question of interpretation. Unfortunately, the Bhagavad-gita is being interpreted by unauthorized persons unnecessarily, and people are kept into darkness. We are trying to protest against this process
- When men have a taste for this literature (Bhgavad-Gita and Srimad-Bhagavatam), the other literatures, which are catering poison to society, will then automatically cease
- When the devotees aurally receive the activities of the SPG as enacted in Bhagavad-gita and Srimad-Bhagavatam, they immediately achieve a transcendental vision in which they are no longer interested in materialistic activities. Thus they achieve freedom
- Whenever an acarya comes, following the superior orders of the Supreme Personality of Godhead or His representative, he establishes the principles of religion, as enunciated in Bhagavad-gita
- Whenever there is danger, the pure devotee thinks of the protection and shelter of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. This is also advised in Bhagavad-gita (BG 9.33): anityam asukham lokam imam prapya bhajasva mam
- Who is thinking that, "What next body I'm going to accept?" Nobody's interested. They say after finishing this body everything is finished. Bhagavad-gita says, na hanyate hanyamane sarire, nityam . . .na jayate na mriyate va kadacit. The soul is immortal
- Why are there so many different bodies? Why not one kind of body? The answer to this is also given in Bhagavad-gita (13.22) - It is due to his association with the modes of material nature. Thus he meets with good and evil among various species
- Why do you accept somebody as mahatma who does not speak about Krsna? Then you are misleading yourself. Everything, direction, is there (in Bhagavad-gita). Why you create your own mahatma? If you want to be cheated, who can check you? That is your fault
- Why the rascals comment in different way? They may write their rascal philosophy. Why they touch Bhagavad-gita and give different interpretation? They have no right. I have written a book; I have got my purpose. Why you should poke your nose
- Why there are varieties of life? One is tree, one is cat, one is dog, one is human being, one is blind, one is lame, one is educated, one is foolish - why? Why the difference, varieties? And that is answered in the Bhagavad-gita
- Why they cannot give us permission for printing BG? Make it clear whether we can print the older abridged edition, or if we can print the newer unabridged one. They must allow us to print here or immediately send 20,000 copies in India. We can sell all
Y
- Yogis try to perfect their lives, and therefore the Bhagavad-gita enjoins that everyone should become a yogi
- You are asking me to fight, for my victory, for my happiness, but I see it will be just the opposite. Pasyami viparitani. This is his problem. And to solve this problem, Arjuna became the disciple of Krsna, and Krsna advised him this Bhagavad-gita
- You are recognized all over the world as a very pious man, and you are supposed to be very devotee of BG. You fought for independence. Now you have got your independence. So I request you to take the teachings of BG to preach all over the world
- You can see very beautiful Deity, you can hear very beautiful sound, you can talk on Krsna philosophically from Bhagavata and Bhagavad-gita. So everything in Krsna consciousness. There is no stoppage
- You have to fight. Certainly you have to fight with your brothers, brothers-in-law and nephews, and you are lamenting. But first of all understand whether you are body or not. - That is the beginning of Bhagavad-gita
- Your fear that the entire society will be in danger by Raymond's editing of the Gita is not very suitable remark
- Your report on the library party is very encouraging, especially regarding the use of Bhagavad-gita as a text for College courses
