Subuddhi Rāya was thinking of taking sannyāsa, and by the grace of Kṛṣṇa, he received this opportunity. He therefore left his family and went to Vārāṇasī. It appears that Subuddhi Rāya was a big landholder and a responsible, respectable gentleman.
